Chapter 5

The next morning I wasn't exactly expecting to wake up to a bunch of loud guys. Jeffery must have had his friends over.
"Ugh, what time is it?" I asked annoyed, putting a pillow over my head. The smell of some type of cologne made me freeze. I'm not at home...I'm at an all-boys university as a boy...shit!
"Ugh, this cold needs to go away," I said fake coughing. Lifting my head up from under my pillow I saw Caiden still asleep so it must have been our roommates moving. The room next door to us was connected to the bathroom along with our room so basically we are all roommates just in two separate rooms... does that make sense?
"Shut the hell up," Caiden told me in one hell of a sexy morning voice. I was confused why he was telling me to shut up until I realized my phone was going off. I looked and saw it was my dad and decided it would be a good time to get breakfast. Since I couldn't bring my own car here I had to basically walk everywhere. Getting up and stretching, I grabbed my phone turning it to silent and changed in the bathroom before slipping on my Jordan's. I was about to head out but I grabbed my room key card first and then headed out of the room making sure to slam the door just to irritate Caiden.
Once I was officially out of the school building I opened my cell phone and called my dad back.
"Hey, Dad," I said fake yawning to make it sound like I just woke up.
"You didn't call me yesterday. How is your college like? Make any friends yet?" he asked me and I just let out a small laugh.
"I just got here yesterday I don't have any friends yet and my roommate is coming this weekend from what she told me when I emailed her. I really have to go, though. Sorry I could only talk for a minute! Bye, dad!" I said hanging up before checking for cars and crossing the street to the very wonderful Starbucks. Once I was inside, I got into the small line and waited patiently, looking out the window. It was nice to see the sun was still rising. It was only about five-thirty a.m., maybe six.
"Hi, what can I get you?" the lady asked me smiling politely.
"Can I have a grande double chocolatey chip Frappuccino," I asked the lady making sure to let my voice fit with my guy look. She nodded and grabbed a cup writing it down.
"Name?" she asked me, looking up.
"Jason," I told her and she smiled when I told her that was it, I paid her and went and stood over in the waiting line. A few people later I had my drink and sat down at one of the small tables.
"Hey, Jason right?" Nick, Caiden's friend asked me and I thought about telling him no and that I don't know who he is but decided against it and nodded my head slowly.
"Remember I'm Nick,” he told me sitting down not bothering to ask me if his presence was actually wanted, which it wasn't. I noticed he was wearing a red hat and a simple pair of long black and white basketball shorts with a white t-shirt that said Johnston boys’ university lacrosse team number 1 in red and black the school's colors.
"You play lacrosse?" I asked him surprised and he nodded taking a sip of his coffee he had.
"I'm the best on the team,” he said leaning back in his chair arrogantly making me almost snort.
"Hey, what is that?" Nick asked me pointing to my drink.
"Double chocolatey chip Frappuccino," I responded before taking a sip, he scrunched up his nose in disgust.
"Don't you think that's girly?" he asked me making me glare at him.
"No, not at all,” I replied offended.
"Girls only get that shit,” he replied and I frowned, how sexist!
Is this world now at the point where we judge people by their drinks?
"No, my brother gets frappuccinos all the time," I said trying to save my fake man pride.
"Yeah, okay whatever dude," Nick said shrugging before raising an eyebrow in wonder, “How come you're up so early?"
"I usually go jogging but today I'm just too lazy," I told him and he nodded understandingly.
"What about you?" I asked and he smirked leaning back in his chair a little. I hoped he would fall and spill his coffee but of course, I wouldn't let him know that.
"I was having some fun with one of the girls from our neighboring schools. You should have seen this chick, man she was a nerd but her looks are just deceiving when it's just you and her, her bad girl side comes out,” he said still smirking. I didn't bother to hide my annoyed look and said,
"That's, um, great man. I don't need to know info on your personal life,” I told him and he just chuckled. "What neighboring school?"
"Oh it's another university but this one is just for all girls. It's only about a mile or two from our university. You looking for a chick?" Nick asked me and I shook my head.
"I'm focusing on my studies," I told him smoothly.
"How boring," Nick told me before standing up.
"Going to head back and wake up Kyle. We have that opening assembly at seven. You should wake up Caiden,” he said and I nodded.
"I'll think about it," I said and he laughed thinking I was joking. The truth was I was being honest. Finishing my drink a few minutes later I left and headed back to the school. When I walked into the room Caiden was getting dressed along with a girl who was trying to find the rest of her clothes. I didn't comment and just walked past them and grabbed my brush and my towel and went into the bathroom making sure both doors were locked.
I took off my wig and the bald cap thing I had on. Yes, I wasn't stupid, I wore a bald cap and a wig. Stripping from my clothes I went into the shower and quickly washed my hair and body. Instead of using my usual great smelling soap I used the awful guy soaps.
Well, they honestly aren't that bad I mean they do smell good.
Once I was done about ten minutes later I stepped out and started drying myself off and grabbed my fresh and still clean clothes that I was wearing earlier. When my wig was fully secure I left the bathroom to see an impatient Caiden waiting outside the door.
"It took you long enough. What the fuck were you doing? Hooking up with someone? Damn, some of us need to use the bathroom as well," Caiden snapped before heading in and shutting the door.
"Well isn't someone in a fantastic mood," I grumbled walking over to my bed. I was surprised to see the girl from earlier just sitting there.
"Hello!" the girl said, smiling at me.
"Uh, hi?" I said back before putting my stuff away. I noticed the girl was just watching me and I raised an eyebrow.
"Yes?" I asked slowly not really wanting to deal with one of Caiden's hook up.
"You're cute,” she told me causing me to just stare at her blankly. I didn't know what to reply to this, maybe if I was the girl in this situation like I've been my whole life I would be able to answer. What do guys reply to this? I mean I've had boyfriends but I've never just told them they were cute randomly.
"Uh, thanks?" I said awkwardly.
"No problem! We should get together sometime,” she said still smiling and I choked on my spit.
"You're still here?" Caiden asked suddenly, staring blankly at the girl. He stood there only wearing just a black towel around his waist.
Sweet heavens.
"Yeah, I thought we could do it again!" the girl said standing up, and Caiden shook his head and gave the girl a cold look.
"You were an easy and maybe even an okay bang, but that's it. Plus I don't do seconds,” he said coldly and she became angry.
"Okay? My boyfriend says I'm excellent!" she said clenching her fists. My jaw dropped at this, she had a boyfriend, yet she just freely hooked up with Caiden. I'm not going to slut-shame, but I mean c’mon, she has a boyfriend. I decided to ignore their conversation and checked the clock to see it was 6:57.
"Damn. We're going to be late,” I said grabbing my key card and slipping on my shoes.
Caiden turned away from the girl and looked at me and rolled his eyes muttering, "Freshman."
Ignoring him, I headed out and started to try and find my way to the auditorium. When I finally reached it I was five minutes late but I wasn't the only one and I was just glad to see the ceremony hasn't started. I was surprised to see my dad standing there getting ready to talk to the audience, tuning in I decided to see what this opening ceremony was.
"Hello, students and welcome to Johnston University! Your president, Mr. Fredrick, couldn't be here right now. Therefore, I'm going to take over this ceremony. For those who don't know I am Mr. Martez, I will most likely be your English teacher. To make it simple, this meeting is to just welcome you all and you can all pick up forms and papers on your way out. I would like to inform you all that all classes does start Monday morning for all of you, but as for tonight I hope you all come to the opening dance,” my father said to the crowd.
"Great a dance! I'll just invite one of the girls from this school, oh wait there isn't any,” Kyle said sarcastically causing my dad to narrow his eyes signaling he didn't appreciate his attitude.
"For the opening dance the staff has decided to allow for tonight and tonight only, the neighboring school of girls to join this dance. But if one girl is found sneaking off with one of you boys expect to be in the office tomorrow getting your consequence,” my dad told everyone trying to look strict but in reality I knew he wasn't really. At times maybe but 99 percent of the time no. After going through the basics of the doors lock at 10:30 and if you don't have your key with you when they lock then you're locked out and blah blah blah. Lunch quickly came around soon I was sitting alone at a table until a guy came over.
"Hey Jason!" he said sitting next to me said smiling. I raised an eyebrow, I'd never seen this guy in my life.
"Hey!" I said back with a fake smile.
"How was your first night?" he asked and I shrugged.
"Actually surprisingly great,” I told him before saying awkwardly, “I don't mean to be rude but do I know you..."
"Oh no I'm Leon though. I’ve seen you with the assholes. Just wanted to know why you're hanging out with them,” he said and I stared at him blankly. “You know, Caiden's group."
"Yea I know,” I said nodding, it was pretty obvious.
"So are you their towel boy?" he asked me and I scoffed as if would ever be that.
"No, I'm just Caiden's roommate,” I told him shrugging and his eyes widened.
"Oh great to know, have fun with that. Listen I have to go but hope you enjoy the school it's hell,” he told me walking off quickly. I didn't let his sudden departure bother me and just simply shrugged my shoulder.
"What did Leon want?" Tom asked me as he walked over and sat down in front of me. I was surprised by this and just shrugged.
"Nothing really,” I replied trying to play it off cool. But inside my heart was racing. I didn’t know how long I could stand being with all these guys, I mean one of these days I was just going to attack them. They talked to me without a care in the world looking like sex gods.
I don't think they know what they are doing to me. Oh wait they don't know because I'm a guy to them right... I thought awkwardly.
"If he talks to you again let us know,” he said standing up.
"Why? Who is he to you guys?" I asked him curiously noticing all the other guys looking over here also.
"He is just a rival I guess you could say," Tom replied before heading off back to their table. I simply shrugged not really caring. I'm a girl that doesn't really belong here so why would I honestly care. I heard someone clearing their throat behind me making me almost hit the table annoyed. Why can't everyone just leave me alone for five minutes?
"Yes?" I asked not turning around.
"How come you're sitting all alone?" I heard the voice of my father asked and my eyes widened. Crap not good. One slip up and he'd notice and send me home. Making sure to not turn around I just simply shrugged not wanting to talk. One thing that annoyed my father was when I would give him the cold shoulder which is why I'm doing it now hoping he would get the hint. Even though he didn't know it was me he would get annoyed with the guy or me, Jason. Okay now I just sound crazy.
You are crazy, you agreed to go to a boys’ university.
Huh, I guess I did. Well that will at least give me a story to my future children. Wait who said that?
A ghost.
Oh really? I've always wanted to meet a ghost but-
I'm your conscious.
How boring.
"Well now I understand why no one is sitting by you," Dad said while walking off. Huh? Was he talking to me still? Oops. Deciding not to waste my time anymore I threw away much lunch and headed toward my dorm room. Unlocking it and walking in, I grabbed my bag and skateboard and once again left but this time heading off campus.
