"Kiefer come on I'll talk to you inside." I said looking up to him, putting my hands on his shoulders attempting to push him back towards the house which was pointless.
I could see his fist clenched at his sides, and the anger that filled his eyes and he just glared at Blake with so much hatred, and Blake glared back with a smirk, which just made Kiefer more furious.
Kiefer just easily cleared me out of the way and walked right up to Blake who was leaning against his fence.
Kiefer and Blake where chest to chest neither of them looking away.
"Stay away from my cousin Frost, or so help me god I will knock your teeth down your throat." Kiefer said in almost a growl.
"I'd like to see you try." Blake growled back.
All of a sudden Kiefer punch Blake in the jaw. Blake didn't let that slow him down because soon Blake tackled Kiefer to the ground and punched him back. They were both rolling around to the sidewalk, trying to get to the top of the other.
I couldn't believe this was happening all I could do was try and pull whoever was on top off which wasn't successful, I just ended up falling back.
"Please, please stop!" I screamed as the tears were pouring down my face, which finally got their attention.
Blake was on top of Kiefer, but when they stopped to look at me I got my chance to quickly get up and pull Blake up.
Of course he just let me hold onto his arm and he follwed me away from Kiefer who was getting himself off the ground.
"Kiefer please go inside, I'll be there in just a second." I said looking at him while I was standing my Blake. Kiefer went inside, but not before glaring at Blake with anger.
I looked at Blake's face and he had a busted lip and I could see a bruise forming around his eye. There were other scrapes Kiefer pushing his face against the concrete.
"I'm sorry." I said looking into his eyes, which suddenly wiped away most of the anger on his eyes and his expression softened.
"It's not your fault." He said.
"Then why do I feel so bad?" I said looking at the ground as my eyes filled with tears.
Blake lifted my chin with his fingers so that I was looking straight at him. He wiped away the tear that was falling against my cheeks.
"Because you're a good person." He said with a smile, and then walked back to his house.
When I went inside, I found Kiefer on the couch sitting up with his face on his hands and his elbow on his knees.
When he heard me come in he looked up. I could see blood coming from his nose and a bruise forming under his eye, along with other scrapes.
I just shook my head and went to the kitchen got a wet cloth, ice pack, and the first aid kit.
"Look up." I said softly and he did.
We sat there in silence as I cleaned his face of blood, and put medicine on the scrapes.
I sat there holding the ice pack on his cheek.
"Kiefer, I'm sorry for everything." I said looking down starting to cry again.
"So that was him?" Kiefer said with an emotionless tone.
"Him who?" I asked confused.
"The him who you sit with at lunch. The him who takes you home. The him who you hang out with." Kiefer said, as the anger rose in his voice.
And I just nooded my head.
"I told you to stay away from him and you do the exact opposite, and you lied to me." He said looking at me, the hurt in his eyes.
"I know, I'm sorry." I said looking down feeling ashamed.
"You're my bestfriend Sam, we don't lie to each other. I love you so much and the fact that you went behind my back hurts me."
"I know. It's just you told me to stay away but I kept bumping into him. He's my friend." I said, almost whispering the last part.
"People like him don't have friends, Sam."
"Well, he does now." I said again almost in a whisper, not wanting to get Kiefer angry.
"What's that suppose to mean?" He asked.
"I know you don't like him, but he's my friend Kiefer. You don't know him like I do. Whatever you think about him isn't true." I said, pretty sure I just lied about the last part.
Kiefer just stared at me with eyes filled of hurt, disappointment, and betrayal. He shook his head, got up off the couch and walked up to his room without even glancing at me.
After that all I could remember is laying down on the couch crying hysterically into the throw pillow and drifting into sleep.
When I woke up, I was in someone's arms, safe arms, Kiefer's arms. He was carrying me up the stairs into my room.
When he got to my room, he pushed the door open with his foot and softly laid me down on my bed.
"Kiefer." I whispered still half asleep.
"Yeah?" He asked still whispering.
"Do you remember when you were 7 and there was the girl that liked you?" I asked as my eyes were half open.
"Yeah" He said with a chuckle.
"And then you bit her 'cause you were jealous." He continued starting to smile.
"And she told on me and I was put in time out. So you bit her so I didn't have to be alone." I said as my eyes were closed.
"Yeah, I remember." Kiefer said with a smile.
"Thanks for that." I said with a yawn.
"Anytime, Sam." He said as he raised the blanket to cover me.
"Kiefer?" I asked.
"Yes, Sam?" He said with his hands on the knob.
"You're my bestfriend. I don't wanna lose you, I love you so much Kie." I said as I was drifting off to sleep.
"You're stuck with me for life kid." Kiefer said and then he left my room.
The next day I woke up wondering if my conversation with Kiefer was a dream.
It was silent in the car on the way to school.
"I don't know of I told you this but I'm sorry for lying and going behind your back, I was just scared. I'm going to stop being friends with him because that's not the type of person I am and you know that. But you're my bestfriend Kiefer, I love you so much and I don't want to lose you." I said as the tear falling down my cheeks.
As we parked in the parking lot for school, Kiefer turned to me and wiped the tear that was falling down my cheek.
"You're stuck with me for life kid." He said with a smile.
"Just please don't hang out with him, talk to him at school or at the house. I just rather you not be alone with him." He continued with a worried face.
"I'll honestly try, and if I do go out with him you'll be the first one to know." I said.
I don't think Kiefer liked that but he wasn't going to argue with me.
The next few days Blake went missing. As much as I hated it, I got of used to it.
It was Wednesday night when I was sitting up drawing in my bed. I heard a tap on my window. I assumed it was the wind and paid no mind. But then I heard it again, and again.
So I slowly crept into my window and saw Blake standing below, and I opened it staring at him in shock. What did he think he was doing?
"But soft! What light through wonder window breaks? It is the east and Juliet is the sun." Blake said in a loud whisper.
I couldn't help but laugh. Blake is outside my window on one knee quoting Romeo and Juliet.
I put on my vans and through on a hoodie, ignoring the fact I was wearing short shorts, I slowly climbed down the tree.
"Come on, Juliet." Blake said dragging me to the front of the house.
I walked over to his bike but he was walking somewhere else. I followed him down the block to a black 2011 mustang, it was beautiful.
"Whose car?" I asked as we drove to the mountains.
"My brother"
"Ah, so what's the occasion?" I said referring to the bottle of vodka in the back seat that was already half empty.
"No occasion. Can't a friend take his friend on a midnight outing anymore?" He said and I laugh because I could tell he was a little tipsy, that's why I hesitated getting in the car but he assured me that he was fine.
When we got to the mountains, we parked the car and walked to the clearing. Blake had the vodka bottle in one hand and a plastic bag in the other.
When we got there, Blake took out a blanket and laid it on the ground. Then he took out a flashlight and turn it on and stood it up on the blanket. The moonlight made it pretty bright but I'm thankful he brought a flashlight because something about sitting in the middle of the mountains in the dark didn't sit well with me.
I grabbed the bottle of vodka and took one big slug of it. I could feel the burning sensation going down my throat. But I took another slug and ignore the burning.
"Not yet, young one." Blake said grabbing the bottle from me before I took another sip.
We both lay back on the blanket sude by side staring up at the night sky.
"Let's play 20 questions. If you pass a question, you have to drink." Blake said, still looking at the sky.
"You first." I said.
"Okay. Why did you moved here?" He must really want to know that because it's the second time he asked me. But again I wasn't ready to talk.
"Pass." I said and held my hand out for the bottle.
I took a drink from the bottle trying not to think about the painful burning sensation.
"Where do you go when you leave for all those days?" I asked.
"Pass" and took a drink from the bottle.
"What do you think of me?" I asked as I stared up at the sky, I would never asked that but the vodka was starting to kick it.
"I think you're smart, funny, beautiful, sexy, and so much more. I've never met anyone like you. I know you scared the whole out of me." He said.
"Why?" I asked as I turned to my side.
Blake turned to his side so that he was facing me, leaning his head on his arm
"I'm going to need another sip for that question." He said as he took another sip from the bottle.
"Why?" I asked again.
"Because... You make me want to be different. You make me want to care and love. But I just can't, that's who I am." He said as he was playing with a string from the blanket and not looking in my eye.
"You make me want to care toom" I said in a whisper. Which got his attention, and his eyes were locked on mine.
"Why are you afraid to care?" I asked as he took another sip from the bottle.
I grabbed the bottle and drank the last sip that was left.
"I just can't. What I do hurts the people I love. So to avoid that, I don't love."
"Are you going to hurt me?" I asked.
"I don't want too." He said.
I looked into his beautiful eyes and I could see a bunch of emotions inside.
I couldn't take it anymore so I moved closer to him and cupped his cheeks with my hand. I gently pressed my lips against his and his lips parted allowing me to enter.
The kiss was different to the other it was slow and gentle. It was filled with passion, desire, and something else that was never there befor but I couldn't figure out what it was.
Soon I was straddling Blake. I couldn't help myself. I grinded my body against his. I slowly lifted off his shirt and he lifted off mine.
His eyes searching my body. He ran his hands over the sides and onto my breast. He rolled us over so that he was on me kissinf my neck more urgently.
Somehow we both got our pants off and were naked. Blake had the condom on in seconds. I've never needed Blake more that I did now.
He kissed in between my breast, gently rubbing them.
I slightly dug my fingernails in his back which made him let out a soft moan.
The next day I woke up, in the middle od the forest in Blake's arms, with a killer headache. It was just getting light out even though the sun wasn't out yet. I looked over to my phone and it was only 5 am, I had to be home by 6.
"Blake.." I said gently pushing him awake. Before opening his eyes he just held me tighter and pulled me closer.
"5 more minutes." He said.
"Wake up, I got to go home. We fell asleep in the forest!" I said which woke him up.
When he opened his eyes, he realized that his arms were around my waist. He quickly let go, and he looked shocked, like he seen a ghost.
"Are you okay?" I asked
"Fine, let's go."
After we got dressed it was a silent ride home. He didn't say anything to me as I got out of the car.
I climbed up the tree and back into my room silently.
I still had 45 minutes to sleep. So I rested my head on the pillow and drifted into a light sleep.
*******
Blake's POV
When I woke up and realized I was cuddling with her it's like my whole world fell apart, because I didn't want to let go.
One of my rules is to never actually sleep with a girl with the bed or in the case on the ground, and I just broke it.
I didn't even want to look at her, I'm afraid it might spark up an emotion which I couldn't have.
I started to remember bits and pieces of conversation we had last night. It was pretty hard because of my throbbing headache I had. I remembered telling her that she scared me, Oh my god. I hope to god she doesn't remember anything.
Everything I said to her was true. I'm starting to think I actually have feelings for this girl, which I thought was impossible because it's me. I don't have feelings. I can't have feelings, it's not allowed.
When I got inside the house there was beer bottle everywhere, Alex must have been having some hell of a time last night. All I know is that Alexa is going to kill him.
I lived here with my older sister and brother, Alexa is the oldest, and Alex.
We moved here a year ago.
Our parents were killed by gang members a while ago, for no reason. Me and my brother Alex wanted revenge.
When we told Alexa our plan on getting revenge on the bastards that killed our parents, she was totally against it. We knew she was going to be, she was too smart for that.
We wanted to join the rival gang of the people that killed our parents. As much as Alexa didn't approved he didn't want us to do this alone.
We learned every types of self defense, karate, taekwondo, boxing, wrestling, and special weapon training just to be on the safe side.
When we got into the gang we didn't realized how bad it was going to be, so after we got our revenge we wanted out. Little did we know that there was no way out.
So here we are now on the run, from one of the deadliest gangs there is.
We did our best to track the gangs movements. When they get close to us we move. If members find us we kill them.
I couldn't drag Samantha into that life style. I wasn't going to do that to her. If I only cared about her it would only be a weakness that the gang would use against me and that's something I can't have.
