chapter 3 The one I hit is you

"You? How dare you hit me?"

Arno Lin delivered a slap, causing the person to react with surprise. That man covered his face with a mix of astonishment and anger.

"I not only dare to hit you, but I also plan to beat you to a pulp!" Arno Lin went on, moving closer and delivering another kick, knocking the person to the ground and causing them to wail in pain.

The individual was someone Arno Lin recognized - his cousin Kevin Lin, a playboy who had long been harboring an interest in Kari Chu.

"You beast, dare you to fight me? Let's do this!" Kevin Lin yelled, furious. But being a playboy and nowhere near as strong as Arno Lin, he was easily pinned down and subjected to a brutal beating.

His once-handsome face was now a grotesque sight, covered in bruises.

Arno Lin stopped when Kari Chu intervened. Her eyes reflected a mix of surprise and confusion, wondering if he had started the fight to protect her.

Kari Chu's emotions were complicated. Such an event was unimaginable in the past. However, when she remembered Arno Lin's previous behavior, she quickly turned cold and sighed lightly.

Perhaps she had misunderstood him. Arno Lin was likely overcome by his usual recklessness, and there was no deeper meaning to his actions.

"Arno Lin, let's go," Kari Chu said, sounding disappointed. Arno Lin responded with a simple acknowledgment and followed her.

As they entered the Lin family's residence and took a few steps, another individual approached them. He bore a resemblance to Kevin Lin, the cousin Arno Lin had just fought.

Arno Lin recalled this person as Kevin Lin's older brother, Daniel Lin.

"Well, well, isn't this our young master Lin? How's it that you have the nerve to return?" Daniel Lin sneered, laughing with a mix of disdain and mockery, treating Arno Lin like trash.

Arno Lin noticed a glimmer of a familiar coldness in Daniel Lin's eyes. If he had guessed correctly, this was one of the masterminds behind last night's plot.

Arno Lin believed that Daniel Lin was the one who had invited him out for drinks last night. The motive behind it had started to become clearer to him.

Within the core of the Lin family's younger generation, there were only four men. Daniel Lin, Kevin Lin, and their older brother, Nathan Lin, who was married to the enchanting woman from the previous night. These three were true brothers.

Arno Lin was a part of a separate branch and stood alone. If he were eliminated, the family's assets could easily be divided among the other three brothers.

Was this an attempt to exclude him?

Arno Lin coldly chuckled to himself. He had no intention of allowing this to happen.

"Do I have the nerve to come back or not? That's none of your business," Arno Lin replied, his tone cold. He glanced at Daniel Lin and added, "Or perhaps there's a dirty secret you're trying to hide that's making you so concerned for me?"

"Don't spout nonsense!" Daniel Lin coldly snorted. He stared at Arno Lin and accused him, "You dare to make advances on your brother's woman, and you still dare to return to the Lin family. You've got some nerve."

"Whether I have the nerve or not, you'll find out very soon," Arno Lin said indifferently and took a step forward, delivering a slap to Daniel Lin.

"You! You dare to hit me?" Daniel Lin widened his eyes in disbelief, unable to fathom that the same person who had once knelt before him for drug money was now capable of such actions.

Arno Lin then slapped Daniel Lin twice more, leaving Daniel Lin with stars in his eyes. While Daniel Lin wasn't as frail as his younger brother, Kevin Lin, he still couldn't withstand Arno Lin's strength.

In the end, several of the Lin family's servants had to intervene to separate the two.

"Arno Lin, you've done well! I'll be sure to let our grandfather know about this!" Daniel Lin seethed.

Faced with his threat, Arno Lin nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders. "Next time you act pretentious in front of me, I'll strike you again."

"You!" Daniel Lin stared at Arno Lin in disbelief, unable to comprehend how he had undergone such a transformation. This was not the same person who had once begged for drug money at his feet.

Arno Lin gave Daniel Lin one more look and proceeded into the hall.

The Arno Heavenly Sovereign, renowned throughout the Fantasy World, adhered to one principle: an eye for an eye, and a hundred times over.

"You wait here. I'll be right back," he said to Kari Chu before entering the hall.

Kari Chu was left bewildered. She wondered if Arno Lin had been drugged or was experiencing a high due to substances. The sudden change in his behavior was alarming.

In her anxiety, she thought about following him into the hall. However, Daniel Lin's underlings prevented her.

"Little sister, you don't need to come inside. Today, we have a family meeting," Daniel Lin sneered and entered the hall.

Just as he entered the mansion's main hall, Arno Lin felt an invisible pressure. He looked up and saw that most of the important members of the Lin family were present. Old master of Lin was seated in the center with a furious expression on his face. As for the seductive woman from yesterday, she was talking to a middle-aged woman with a tearful face.
Arno Lin sneered inwardly, straightened his posture, and walked in.
"Arno Lin, why haven't you kneeled down yet?" Upon entering, old master of Lin's thunderous roar filled the hall, and he appeared extremely agitated.
Arno Lin's expression remained unchanged as he calmly replied, "I have done nothing wrong, so why should I kneel?"
"Ungrateful child! Do you not realize the gravity of your actions? Claiming innocence and being faultless, it's a disgrace that you can even say such things!" Old master of Lin was trembling with anger. Arno Lin's parents had died in an accident a few years ago, which led old master of Lin to shower extra care upon his youngest grandson. However, he never expected that his indulgence would lead to the current situation.
Arno Lin's elder uncle, Aaron Lin, quickly tried to calm old master of Lin. He stared at Arno Lin with anger in his eyes and scolded, "Arno, your parents passed away early, and the family has taken good care of you. Is this how you repay our family?"
"The matter at hand is a disappointment. No matter how much of a scoundrel you are, you should never lay a hand on your elder sister-in-law. You are tarnishing the reputation of our entire Lin family," Aaron Lin said with an indignant expression, portraying an image of a man who cared deeply for the family.
Arno Lin glanced at him, unsure if he was involved in this matter. Nevertheless, as Daniel Lin's father, he couldn't evade his connection to it.
"Elder Uncle, I haven't brought shame upon the Lin family. I was framed," Arno Lin replied calmly.
