chapter 7 Meeting Chloe Song for the first time ===

Alexander Xu stopped at the door of the CEO's office. The soundproofing of the office was excellent, and if it weren't for his "Dragon's Command," he wouldn't have been able to hear the conversation inside. He could clearly hear William Xu on the phone, probably talking to people who could help smooth things over. He didn't need to guess who it was; it was likely those who could offer some assistance in their circle of influence.
William Xu made numerous calls, but everyone expressed their helplessness. It wasn't that they didn't want to help, but they simply lacked the capacity. Being mostly businessmen, none dared to cross the Song family, and even those with some connections probably didn't have enough influence to change Daniel Song's decision.
Alexander felt moved. Although his "cheap" father had never been kind to him, the father was trying his best to save Alexander in this crisis. Just for this reason alone, he was willing to accept this man as his father.
Recalling the past, Alexander pushed open the door of the CEO's office.
"I said, don't bother me with anything, you..." William Xu, thinking it was his secretary, started to reprimand. But upon lifting his head and seeing Alexander, he was stunned and rubbed his eyes in disbelief. "Alexander, how come it's you? Weren't you..."
"Dad, I'm fine. Daniel Song let me go!" Alexander smiled, walked over, and hugged William Xu, in a genuine embrace.
To Alexander, this gesture was simple, but it caused a storm in William Xu's heart, bringing him to tears. How many years had it been since they had embraced like this?
"Was it Chloe who called the Commander?" William Xu's first thought was of Chloe Song. In his mind, other than her, who else could sway Daniel Song, the Commander of the Southeast Military Region? Although Chloe initially refused to save his son, perhaps she had a change of heart after he left.
"Chloe Song? Did you seek help from Chloe? Why did you go to that woman?" Alexander sighed; he had returned too late.
William Xu wiped away his tears nonchalantly and said, "If it could save you, what's wrong with asking her for help?"
Thinking of William Xu pleading with Chloe, Alexander became furious. He left the CEO's office and headed straight to the 48th floor. He wanted to see what kind of person Miss Song of the Song family really was.
When Alexander appeared on the 48th floor, no one was surprised. Everyone thought as expected, the young master had come to the 48th floor, just like the sun rising from the east.
Remembering Chloe's office location, Alexander didn't bother with pleasantries and kicked open her office door. There was no need to be polite with a woman like Chloe Song!
Chloe, about to call her father, frowned slightly. Who dared to kick open her office door? When she looked up and saw Alexander, a flicker of surprise crossed her eyes. She was just about to call, and this guy appeared unharmed in her office? How could her father have let him go so easily?
Chloe looked at Alexander with suspicion, while he closely observed her.
Alexander was momentarily lost in thought. He had seen many beauties, but few matched her level of allure. No wonder the previous Alexander had tried to force himself on her. Even he was stunned by her beauty, let alone that playboy from before.
With her slightly furrowed willow eyebrows, and an air of indifference on her face, she seemed like an ethereal fairy. Her bright eyes shone like stars in the night sky. Her graceful appearance, slender shoulders, and a waist so delicate it seemed it could be encircled by one's hands, combined with her elegant long dress, made her resemble a lotus flower in full bloom.
Her voluptuous figure could easily stir one's imagination. No wonder she was so proud. With such stunning beauty, she had every right to be, not to mention her exceptional abilities!
Alexander steadied himself, sat across Chloe, casually placing his feet on her desk, and said with a sneer, "Miss Song, aren't you disappointed that Daniel Song didn't execute me?”
Chloe looked disdainfully at Alexander and said indifferently, "Your presence here is indeed a surprise. Since you're alright now, I won't have to call my dad. Mr. Xu, you can leave now. Don't disturb my work."
Feeling her disdainful attitude, like shooing away a fly, Alexander felt uncomfortable.
"Chloe Song, as the Deputy CEO of Prosperous World Group, I'm informing you that you're fired," Alexander stated seriously.
This wasn't out of revenge but because he genuinely felt she wasn't suitable for Prosperous World Group. Yes, she was beautiful and capable, but her identity made her a misfit at Prosperous World Group. His father, the CEO, probably didn’t dare to offend her.
Chloe looked at him incredulously and then lowered her head to continue working on her documents, laughing coldly, "Mr. Xu, I think you're mistaken. You don't have the power to fire me."
"Is it because you're Daniel Song's daughter, Matthew Song's granddaughter?" Alexander scoffed.
"It's not about who I am, but who you are," Chloe said with a scornful smile, leaning back in her chair. "You seem to have forgotten that your Deputy CEO position is just a nominal one without any real power. And with my position, only the CEO can fire me."
Her face clearly read: Fire me? You're not qualified!
Alexander paused, realizing he didn't have the authority.
"Are you crazy? I almost raped you, and you still want to stay at Prosperous World Group? Aren't you afraid I'll force myself on you again?" Alexander looked helplessly at her. Anyone else would have resigned by now, but she didn't seem to have any intention of leaving Prosperous World Group.
"I leave when I want, and no one can stop me. If I don't want to leave, no one can make me. If you have any improper thoughts, just try!" Chloe raised her eyebrows, speaking calmly.
She came to Prosperous World Group to avoid the troubles of her family. The younger generation of large families, while enjoying the legacy of their ancestors, often suffer in silence, especially young women who become tools in family alliances, ending up marrying men they don't love.
At least for now, she was satisfied with Prosperous World Group, except for the despicable man before her.
"Fine, as you wish," Alexander stood up and headed towards the door. Then he stopped, turned around, leaned on the deformed door, and said with a wicked smile, "Tell your bodyguards, if I see them again, I'll break their legs!"
Regardless of Alexander's past misdeeds or his actions towards Chloe, the previous Alexander was now dead, and that was a fact! If he had the chance to meet those two again, he would definitely teach them a lesson, avenging his body’s previous occupant.
After Alexander left the office, Chloe was lost in thought. She automatically dismissed his last remark at the door. Did that playboy really have the audacity to attack her bodyguards? Such a thought seemed as unlikely as the sun rising from the west. In her eyes, Alexander was nothing more than a pretty face with no real substance, and going against her father's bodyguards was practically a death wish! Although Alexander was despicable, he wasn't foolish. A person with intelligence wouldn't court death.
She was surprised that the playboy hadn't made any lewd comments or even leered at her. Given his character, one would have expected him to exhibit his disgusting desires.
And how did he escape from the military district? Chloe looked at her phone and finally decided to call her father. "Dad…"
"Chloe? You're not planning to plead for that scoundrel, are you? Don't worry, I've already released him!" Daniel Song's voice came through the phone, clearly reluctant.
"You personally released him?" Chloe was genuinely curious. She knew her father's temper well. It was already a relief that he didn't send troops to surround the Xu family, but why release Alexander?
As Daniel Song thought of Alexander's infuriating smile, he became instantly angry. "Do you think I wanted to release him? It was your grandfather who personally called and asked me to let him go! And don't stay at Prosperous World Group any longer, that guy is trouble!"
His primary concern was his daughter's safety. The fact that Alexander broke free from handcuffs was enough to prove he was dangerous. The bodyguards he had assigned to Chloe might not be a match for him. What puzzled him was how someone so capable almost got killed by the bodyguards previously. Even if he was playing a long game, it seemed too risky to joke with his life.
"Okay, I'll consider it..." Chloe hung up, shocked. Her grandfather had personally called her? The Xu family, despite their wealth, couldn't possibly sway her grandfather. What was really going on?
For the first time, Chloe felt a hint of curiosity towards the infamous playboy.
