"Is it you?"
Seeing the newcomer, Melanion was also somewhat surprised, because it turned out to be the Maybach lady driver who had bumped into him in the morning. He had not expected her to appear here.
"Damn it, you hag." Pilan, seeing someone cheering for Melanion, couldn't contain his anger and cursed loudly.
"And you talk too much!"
Hearing his words, Melanion kicked him, causing Pilan to roll his eyes back and let out a pained cry.
"Wait for it, all of you wait. I will call people over to deal with this pair of dogs!" Pilan, not stopping with his nonsense, even dared to threaten them.
"Shut your mouth!"
Hearing his unrestrained words, Fatty Moore was almost scared to death. He knew that this woman was the President of the Langford Group, the famous Tashiany, who controlled such a large conglomerate, yet her nephew was calling her names. Wasn't this madness?
"Habib, I didn't expect the marketing department to be in such a mess under your leadership. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes today, I wouldn't have believed that there could be such a person as you who could cover the sky with one hand within the group," Tashiany said coldly, expressionless.
"President, I..."
"Enough, I've already called the police. You've leaked the company's trade secrets; spend the rest of your life waiting in prison," Tashiany said, cutting him off without giving him a chance to defend himself.
Soon after, the police arrived at the company. They found evidence in Habib's personal emails of his collusion with the Hanson, and when the handcuffs were locked around Habib's hands, he stood there dumbfounded, muttering, "It's all over—"
Fatty Moore was like a tumor in the company, committing numerous evils during his time leading the marketing department. Falsifying invoices and taking kickbacks were routine for him, and worse, he repeatedly harassed female employees, causing unrest in the department. Seeing him handcuffed and taken away in a police car, the long-oppressed subordinates couldn't contain their joy and cheered for Melanion, shouting for the removal of the scourge.
"You're the President of Langford? My big boss?"
A voice tinged with shock rang in Tashiany's ears, and the speaker was Melanion.
The company's internal legend was that the President had an extraordinary family background and was omnipotent. She was always elusive, and many business plans were conveyed by her assistant Zahara, so many old employees had never seen her. But now, the unheard-of President was standing right in front of him, which Melanion found unbelievable.
"Is there a problem?" Tashiany asked Melanion calmly after looking at him.
"No problem, just a bit curious," Melanion scratched the back of his head.
"Curious about what?"
"Aren't presidents usually old men?"
"Don't talk nonsense. The President is a well-known genius in the business world, a real favored daughter of heaven!" Tashiany's assistant spoke with admiration at this time.
"Are you feeling alright?" Tashiany suddenly asked.
Hearing this, the entire department became agitated, and everyone pricked up their ears, waiting for Melanion's response.
Asking about someone's health out of the blue, there must be some gossip here.
"Don't worry, I'm young and strong, very sturdy indeed, how could there be anything wrong!" Melanion said, pounding his chest for emphasis.
"Zahara, how is his performance?" Tashiany gave him a big eye roll and changed the subject with her assistant, talking about Melanion's work.
"I have been paying attention to this before. The company owes several big orders to his efforts, but he has not been made permanent yet. Today is the last day of his probationary period," the assistant Eudora Gabriels hurriedly said, seemingly aware of the President's intentions.
"From now on, he is the new manager of the marketing department."
Tashiany made a surprising announcement, and even though Eudora had guessed it in advance, she still gasped when she actually heard it.
Promoting an intern directly to department manager was clearly not in accordance with company regulations.
But since Tashiany had said it, how could Eudora contradict the leader!
In fact, Tashiany had her own considerations for appointing Melanion as manager.
First, she had hit Melanion with her car in the morning, and he had refused her compensation, not being greedy for money, which showed his good character.
Second, although the Langford Group appeared strong on the surface, it was not truly united. Her uncles on the board would love to strip her of her powers and take control of the entire group. People like Habib were installed by her uncles.
If she personally arranged the company's personnel work, people like Habib would never have been able to enter the company.
Now that Habib was dismissed, the first thing was to place a trusted person in charge of the important marketing department. Although Melanion had not been in the company for long, he was a reliable person.
Therefore, Tashiany felt assured with Melanion as manager of the marketing department.
Leadership skills were not innate. Since Melanion's sales performance was excellent, Tashiany believed that with time and proper training, Melanion would surely be able to solve problems for her and stand on his own.
"President, will the directors have any objections to this?" Eudora whispered at this time.
"Do as I say. I am the President of the group. Don't I even have the authority to appoint and dismiss staff?" Tashiany's gaze swept over her, and Eudora immediately lowered her head, not daring to look into her eyes again.
Actually, she had come here to find the marketing manager to finalize an important contract, but she did not expect to encounter such an incident. Fortunately, Habib's misdeeds were exposed. Otherwise, having such a person in the group would have been fatal for the group's future.
"Melanion, familiarize yourself with the business well. I have an important contract to discuss this afternoon. Can you drive?" Tashiany suddenly asked.
"Yes," Melanion answered honestly, although he did not know what Tashiany intended.
"Then you will accompany me this afternoon to discuss the contract," Tashiany stated calmly.
"Ah!" Melanion was a bit stunned.
"President, I've just taken office and there's a lot I don't understand," Melanion said, scratching his head in distress.
"It's because you don't understand that you need to learn more. Otherwise, how will you secure the position of marketing department manager?"
"Understood."
As he spoke, Melanion felt the weight on his shoulders grow heavier. The position of manager certainly came with high treatment and good benefits, but now it seemed not so easy to handle, and there was still much for him to learn.
However, the opportunity to spend time with such a beautiful woman as Tashiany was a little exciting.
He was looking forward to spending the afternoon with the beautiful President.
