Sonny, born into the the Ayesa Family, knew little about the family's details. The the Ayesa Family consisted of three branches, the first branch led by the Fmaily Head, the second branch known as the Mysterious Lineage, boasting various talents, and the third branch, the Unique Lineage, to which Sonny belongs, was practically extinct with only a few remaining.
Once, Kylo , after drinking, often spoke to Sonny about revitalizing the Unique Lineage. This explains Sonny's name coming from.
However, fate played a cruel trick Kylo.
Kylo, in the prime of his life, fell seriously ill and passed away prematurely.
For the Unique Lineage of the Ayesa Family, this was a significant blow. The spark of hope that had ignited was completely extinguished.
Members of the Unique Lineage in the the Ayesa Family were almost without status—this is why Sonny had no intention of returning to the Ayesa Family.
Observing the imposing Ayesa residence, resembling a ferocious beast with bloodthirsty jaws wide open.
Sonny hesitated for a moment but ultimately entered.
"Young Master Sonny is back!"
A maid in a green dress showed some joy. Before she could say more, her words halted, and she hurriedly left.
Sonny squinted slightly, and not far away, a slender man stood. His long hair was casually tied with a hairband, and he wore a well-tailored purple robe. A faint smile adorned his face, giving off an air of refined scholarliness. However, his eyes were icy, creating a rather unsettling feeling.
The Ayesa Family's top talent, Gunner!
Starting body tempering at the age of five, opening all eighteen apertures at ten, reaching Martial Artist Realm at thirteen, and entering the Innate Realm at fourteen...
Sonny grew up in the shadow of Gunner. Gunner's brilliance was too dazzling, making it impossible for Sonny, abeled as a waste, to escape notice.
"Sonny... you're back!"
Gunner greeted with a smile.
Sonny met Gunner's gaze calmly. He was no longer the waste he used to be since the moment he opened all eighteen apertures at the age of eighteen.
"There are some matters... that need to be resolved by coming back."
Sonny said in a calm voice.
Gunner's smile faded slightly, and Sonny's indifferent words displeased him.
"It's good that you're back... after all, this is your home. If you can't make it outside, this is your refuge. At least, you won't worry about food and clothing here, and Uncle has left you substantial assets." Gunner spoke with a smile, but there was a thought-provoking gleam in his eyes.
"No need to trouble yourself."
Sonny could naturally hear the hidden meaning in Gunner's words, With a faint tone, he turned and left.
"Such a foolish thing!"
Watching Sonny's figure, Gunner uttered a few words, his expression turning cold.
After a moment's hesitation, Sonny still walked towards his courtyard.
After a while, Sonny arrived at the courtyard where he had once lived. The courtyard was spotlessly clean, with not a speck of dust on the windowsills.
An old man with white hair sat in the sunlight, emitting a snoring sound.
Sonny walked gently to the old man's side, and his eyes moistened.
"Ghost!"
A sharp cry sounded out, and a servant boy in a gray robe, upon seeing Sonny, became flustered, as if encountering a malevolent spirit, and rushed into the house.
The old man opened his eyes, and his expression turned serious.
Seeing Sonny standing beside him, the old man's expression changed slightly. "Young Master... you're back."
The old man uttered an exclamation.
"Gabriel... come here. This is not a ghost. This is the young master. The young master is back."
The old man made a soft voice and tried his best to comfort the slightly crazy Gabriel.
Sonny looked at Gabriel, and he was very curious. This Gabriel was his childhood playmate. The two were almost inseparable when they were young, but he didn't know why he fell to this point.
"Grandpa Clark...what on earth is going on?"
Sonny asked.
The old man sighed, "Young Master, you might not know. Two years ago, after the old master passed away, I found Gabriel in the dry well in the backyard. His sanity was already affected. I've been seeking medicine for him these two years, and the effect is not bad. But unexpectedly, he had a relapse the moment you returned, claiming you're a ghost."
The old man shook his head helplessly.
Sonny smiled wryly and nodded, "It's alright... Gabriel is my childhood companion. He won't forget me."
Entering the house, crouched in the corner, holding his head, trembling.
"Gabriel...it's me, I'm Sonny... the one you used to call big brother all the time."
Sonny said softly.
Gabriel's body trembled slightly.
"Brother."
Gabriel murmured, as if recalling something.
Turning slowly, he looked at Sonny, but fear returned to Gabriel's expression. He held his head and repeatedly called him a ghost.
Sonny tried to comfort Gabriel, but found that Gabriel was very resistant to him and even resorted to hitting his head against the wall, self-harming.
Sonny felt a sharp pain in his heart.
Coming out of the house, he stood in the courtyard.
After comforting Gabriel for a while in the house, the old man walked out.
"Young Master, don't think too much. Gabriel's nerves are acting up, just uttering some nonsense." The old man whispered to ease Sonny's worries.
Sonny smiled bitterly and nodded, "What has happened to Gabriel to make him like this? It's truly..."
The old man's expression also revealed a trace of helplessness, his mouth moved, but he didn't say anything.
A brief silence fell over the courtyard.
After a long time, Sonny broke the silence and said, "Uncle Clark, how is the profitability of the shop left by my father? I need a large amount of money now."
The old man's expression changed slightly. "Young Master... you didn't get involved in any trouble, did you?"
Sonny shook his head and said in a low voice, "I have advanced to the Martial Artist Realm now. I need to purchase elixirs to aid in cultivation. Only by rapidly increasing my strength can I have a certain level of influence."
The old man's body trembled, and he carefully stared at Sonny with a loving gaze, "Young Master... you've truly broken through!"
Sonny nodded.
Tears welled up in the old man's eyes.
"Two years... I had no news from Young Master, and all the information I gathered was unfavorable. My heart has been tormented... and now, Young Master, you've made a breakthrough. You've made a breakthrough..."
As people age, they tend to speak more.
The old man spoke incessantly, and Sonny listened attentively
No matter how verbose the words were, they were expressions of the old man's love and concern for Sonny.
