chapter 17 Make a trap

When Chimere said this, I scratched the back of my head in embarrassment, "Why do you think I am a kind person?"

Chimere turned her head and stared at the fire. She was silent for a while, her eyes shining with a lonely light.

I looked at her beautiful profile and felt slightly absent-minded. She suddenly said, "At least you are kind to me."

Chimere's words left me a little confused. Maybe she had some sad past that I couldn't bear to look back on. After all, she was so beautiful, and her pursuers would definitely line up from the east to the west of the island.

Just when I was thinking this, Misako Darcy opened her eyes and glanced at the two of us with a sigh of relief.

Chimere's cheeks instantly turned red, and Misako Darcy glanced at me.

"Chimere, he is kind to you because you are as beautiful as a fairy. If a woman more beautiful than you appears, I believe Einstein will treat her better."

I glanced at Misako Darcy and joked: "You're not bad looking, but why do I want to throw you back into the sea?"

Misako Darcy crossed her arms and said with great disdain: "I am just living a real life."

I picked up a piece of firewood and threw it into the fire. The flames burned more intensely and made a crackling sound.

I wasn't going to talk to Misako Darcy anymore, Chimere didn't say anything anymore, everyone was lost in thought, waiting for the dark night to dissipate.

When the sun's rays illuminated the island again, I poured the remaining water in the thermal bag into the clay pot.

I turned up the fire that was about to go out. As the temperature rose, the water in the pottery pot slowly boiled and steamed out.

Tarala and the others woke up one after another. I took the pottery pot off the fire and gave each of them some hot water.

We each drank hot water from our own clay bowls, and everyone seemed to be reminiscing about the deliciousness of the grilled turtle meat last night.

Saahira touched his belly, looked at the smoked turtle meat and asked, "Brother Einstein, can you have breakfast?"

Chimere and Deborah also looked at me. At this moment, Tarala suddenly said: "No!"

Saahira looked at Tarala with an aggrieved look and asked, "Tarala, why?"

Tarala said: "These turtle meats are a precious source of energy. Before we can find other food, we need to survive on these turtle meats and we must eat them sparingly."

I took a deep breath and added: "From now on, we will only eat one meal a day, and that is dinner."

Saahira: "But Brother Einstein and Tarala are so hungry."

Tarala and I looked at each other indifferently and said nothing.

Deborah patted Saahira on the back and comforted: "Saahira, please bear with me."

Tarala said: "We are almost running out of fresh water, and we need someone to fetch more water."

"I know where * is and I know the road. I can go alone this time." I asked proactively.

Chimere looked at me and said, "Einstein, I'm with you."

I was about to ask Chimere not to go with me this time, but Misako Darcy suddenly said, "I'll go too."

Tarala and others looked at Misako Darcy in surprise, as if this was not something she should say.

I looked at Misako Darcy and was a little surprised. At this moment, Tarala said: "Einstein, Chimere is going with you. At least you have someone to take care of you."

Tarala deliberately left out Misako Darcy words, and the meaning was very obvious, that is, Misako Darcy couldn't be of much help.

Misako Darcy is not stupid, so she can understand it naturally.

She stood up, patted the sand on her butt, and left without saying a word.

Tarala glanced at Misako Darcy, with a hint of cold anger flashing in his eyes.

I took a sneak look at Tarala, and it seemed that she was not a generous person.

After drinking the hot water in my hand, I stood up and walked to my backpack to pack the thermal bag, medicine box, and nylon rope. Then I put my backpack on my back and bent down to pick up the hammer that was thrown on the ground.

Tarala and the others stood up, and Saahira said, "Sister Chimere Xue, can you pick more wild strawberries for me?"

Chimere smiled lightly and nodded. Tarala warned her, "Be careful and don't go into deep places."

I said: "Don't worry, we know the way, everything will be fine, we will be back soon in the afternoon."

Tarala said: "Okay, let's clean up the camp in a while, and then go to the beach to find some shellfish and collect some firewood."

I nodded, and after everyone hugged each other, I took Chimere away from the pile of rocks and came outside.

Misako Darcy had her hands behind her back and was kicking the stones at her feet out of boredom.

When she saw us coming out, she asked, "Are we ready to go?"

I sighed helplessly and said, "You'd better not cause any trouble for me on the way, otherwise we will leave you behind."

Misako Darcy snorted coldly, "Einstein, don't waste your breath and get on your way."

I held the hammer and led the way, Chimere and Misako Darcy followed me, and we headed towards the woods.

The woods were still wet in the early morning. I led the way, leaving marks of progress on the tree trunks from time to time.

After walking for about an hour, I stopped walking, wiped the sweat from my forehead, turned to look at Chimere and Misako Darcy and said, "Let's take a rest."

Chimere leaned against the tree and pinched her waist. The hair on her forehead was sticky with sweat, and both sides of her cheeks were flushed.

Misako Darcy didn't know when she picked up a wooden stick. She walked around with the wooden stick. Looking at her like this, she didn't seem tired at all.

I licked my dry lips and looked at Misako Darcy.

Her performance today is completely different from yesterday.

This guy didn't say a word the whole way, and he was physically stronger than Chimere and I.

At this moment, Misako Darcy seemed to have discovered something. She knelt down to look at it, and then waved to us.

As we moved closer, I saw an obvious sheep's hoof footprint on the ground. Not far in front of the footprint, there was also sheep dung.

Chimere said: "Wild goat?"

Misako Darcy suggested: "It's not far from the beach. We can make a trap and try our luck."

I said: "This desert island is so big, the chance of wild goats passing here again is not very high."

Misako Darcy said: "Idiot, what if this is a female goat!"

I said, "What do you mean?"

Misako Darcy said: "At this time of year, the vegetation on the island is flourishing. It is the time when the goats are fat and strong. It is at this time that the male goats will follow the smell to find the female goats and wait for the opportunity to spread their seeds."

Chimere cheeks turned slightly red when she heard Misako Darcy say this. I looked at her and asked, "Can you make traps?"

Misako Darcy said: "Just make a sling."

I looked at her and asked, "What tools do you need?"

Misako Darcy said: "Your sailor knife, a piece of nylon rope, a stick with good flexibility, and a few pieces of wood with good plasticity."
