chapter 8 three requirements

Diary, Nagini, ring...these three have no clear logic.

But the last three are really hard to ignore, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw...

"What's missing... Gryffindor, Gryffindor..."

Dumbledore pondered for a few seconds, fingertips facing each other, and whispered thoughtfully.

"The sorting hat? The seventh is Godric's hat?"

"Gryffindor's treasure is a sword hidden in the sorting hat—"

Severus said coldly, "Dumbledore, how many more times are you going to try?"

"Well—just now was the last time."

Dumbledore replied with a smile on his face, no longer doubts in his heart.

A wizard in Slytherin House, no matter how powerful his mana is, will never be able to draw the sword of Gryffindor.

This is a secret that only he knows——

Ignoring Dumbledore, who had a thicker skin than the castle, Severus introduced along the way.

"Tom Riddle never found the Gryffindor sword, and I guess Tom left a spot for it."

"Keep it on purpose? Then the seven you found..." Dumbledore relentlessly clasped the logic loophole.

"The other one is Lily's son."

Severus interrupted, unconsciously raising his voice slightly.

"Because of an accident, he became the seventh Horcrux, but now Lily is only eleven years old."

"Lily? Oh, Miss Evans? Then she..."

"The Dark Lord found her." Severus replied dryly. "She sacrificed herself and brought thirteen years of peace to the wizarding world."

"I see--"

Dumbledore nodded suddenly, his eyes rested on Severus' face for a few seconds, and he sighed.

"Sorry...I didn't know something like this would happen in the 'future'..."

If the prerequisite for eliminating Voldemort is to destroy all Horcruxes, then many problems and attitudes are self-evident.

Clues about horcruxes do not appear suddenly, and it is difficult for modern wizards to know the word "horcrux" unless someone tells them.

Even if Severus didn't say it explicitly, Dumbledore could guess the answer, who was the one who informed and made the plan to destroy the Horcrux:

—Albus Dumbledore decades later.

"I understand, I promise you—"

Dumbledore stood up and patted the dark-haired boy on the shoulder.

"This time, you, Miss Evans, and your children will not suffer another misfortune."

"...???"

Severus looked at the serious-looking old man in silence, the corner of his mouth twitching.

"Lily didn't choose me—" His voice was like frozen iron.

"That's it, that's it... um..."

Dumbledore's raised right hand stopped awkwardly in mid-air.

Immediately afterwards, the old wizard let out a series of coughing sounds, trying to cover up the past.

"Cough cough cough—by the way, do you know where these Horcruxes are located?"

"That's my second question."

Severus looked straight, his immature face was full of seriousness that didn't match his age.

"Dumbledore, I do know the exact location of some Horcruxes, and the approximate location of others."

"But strictly speaking, what I have grasped should be called their position after a certain time in the future."

By the time he arrived, Voldemort had clearly realized that his Horcrux was being destroyed.

Severus wasn't even sure that even if Harry killed Voldemort as planned, successfully killed Nagini and destroyed all known Horcruxes, Voldemort could really be wiped out.

If Voldemort creates a new Horcrux during this period, then this war will become an infinite war with no chance of winning——

therefore……

"You only get one chance, Dumbledore."

Severus raised his fingers slowly, emphasizing with extra seriousness.

"In the original time and space, Tom Riddle would be silent on October 31, 1981, which is the eve of Halloween ten years later, because of the backfire of the death curse."

"At the same time, it was also at this time that Riddle would truly verify the immortality of the Horcrux, but..."

"...the future will, oh no, it has changed." Dumbledore said softly, his eyes flickering.

Unless a spell is cast to erase memory now, the future is bound to change.

For example, he now knows about the "Horcrux" in advance.

"That's right."

Severus nodded, and said in a murderous cold voice.

"We need to find all the Horcruxes before Riddle realizes all of this."

"Then, destroy the Horcrux in one go, wipe him out completely, and eliminate the possibility of a comeback."

In the original timeline, after Voldemort missed Harry, he hid in the form of a wandering spirit for more than ten years.

In other words, the closer to Halloween ten years later, the more controllable the positions of the various Horcruxes.

Of course, before that, you have to find the Ravenclaw crown that "the future" didn't find.

"I see."

Dumbledore rubbed his eyebrows and sighed softly.

"Don't worry, I'll find a way—"

"I come."

Before Dumbledore could finish his sentence, Severus raised his third finger.

"Now, the third and most important thing."

He glanced at the old wizard sitting on the sofa in the room.

"I hope that this time I will be in charge, whether it is the overall plan or the judgment of each key node."

"Uh, Sev..."

"In the last life, I trusted you unconditionally, Dumbledore."

Severus interrupted again, his black eyes like bottomless tunnels.

"But what was the result? Countless people died because of your hesitation and indecision, and even you yourself couldn't resist the temptation..."

"From Tom Riddle's first fall to his comeback, the Order and the school have been pushed."

"There will be no second time, Dumbledore. I am familiar with Riddle and the Death Eaters, but I am more familiar with you."

"I must bring all tragedies to an end before Halloween ten years later."

Severus let out a breath, looking the old wizard straight in the eye.

"Albus, I'm not ordering you, I'm asking."

"As the principal of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, I hope you will think about it."

"..."

Dumbledore looked at the black-haired boy in front of him, and fell into a rare silence.

He has no way of knowing what will happen in the future, but he can imagine and guess.

Dumbledore is very aware of his character - just like facing Grindelwald back then, he did often miss the best opportunities.

"Dominance...we will discuss it in detail after you arrive at Hogwarts."

After pondering for a moment, Dumbledore said slowly, "I have some doubts and I need to verify it further."

He still couldn't quite trust the boy who had just appeared out of nowhere.

Regarding the information given by Severus, Dumbledore also had to verify and confirm the authenticity of it.

Other than that...

Dumbledore turned his attention to the sleeping little witch.

"Professor Snape, this is..."

"Hermione Granger, who entered the same year as Lily's child."

"She's from a different time than I am - I guess she's from around 1994."

Severus glanced at Hermione in his sleep, hesitated for a few seconds, thought for a while and added.

"Miss Granger is very good. In her third year, Professor McGonagall applied for her time-turner to study all the courses."

"I suspect that the reason why I returned to this time and space is most likely related to her frequent use of the time converter at that time."

As he spoke, he took out the distorted time-turner from his arms.

"Oh, a Time-Turner? Possibly."

Dumbledore took over the badly damaged Time-Turner.

Time, this is one of the most difficult knowledge to understand in the modern magic world.

"Then what are your plans now?"

"I hope you can change the admission list and add her name to this year's parchment."

"The book of admission does not allow it, and I will not add the student's name on it."

"Yes, but Professor McGonagall doesn't know all the names of each year..."

Severus nodded, and replied unhurriedly.

"At the sorting ceremony, the parchment list."
