Chapter 6

THE BEGINNING 2

Fiona then noticed all eyes were on her as the crowd looked at her confused as to why she stood there.

"come on girl, don't let me down, make mama proud you can't chicken out now " Keshia whispered nervously

Oh she was not gonna chicken out she had a totally different plan, she took confident strides toward the podium. Elijah looked with wide eyes what the hell was she doing? why was she walking towards him?

stopping right in front of him she locked gaze with him her surprise quickly turning to anger as the realization hit her, the idiot has known all along, he had always known they were mates, male wolves could

recognize their mate as early as 17 years of age, no wonder he looked so calm.

"dance with me " she shot out

"I don't want to" he replied making to move away, but she grabbed him by his collar and pulled him forward

"it would be wise for you to realize this is not the time to mess with me." she said her eye color changing from blue to gold, " now let's try this again, dance with me " she finished menacingly, each word dripping with venom.

Elijah sighed in defeat taking her hand, he led her down the podium, the crowd clapped and cheered oblivious to what just happened to them it probably seemed like a romantic gesture.

The werewolves present looked curiously wondering what had happened, Elijah was sure they would brush it off as a harmless gesture since this was not on pack grounds,

some stares were not friendly, others outrightly threatening and demure but Elijah could care less.

The dance floor was now occupied by a lot of people moving to the slow music, Elijah swayed gently with Aliy ah in his arms, she had not said a word since they started dancing, what was there to say, they both knew what was between them was not even remotely possible, the faster they rejected each other and moved on the better for them.

His heart ached for her. Though if he could, he would prefer she never found out, he remembered how confused and lost he felt when he had first found out about them being mates, it was during the pack training two days after his 17th birthday he had remembered the shock he went through, he had watched her tackle with other males as anger flooded his being.

She looked so good standing in the ring,

sweat dripping down her skin, her blazing red hair pulled back in a ponytail, she was a monster in the ring as expected of an alpha's daughter.

He had wished many times that she would look his way just once but she had never noticed his existence.

As days passed he was reminded of the painful fact that he would never be able to be with his mate, he was nothing but an Omega. Their worlds were too far apart.

He had soon gotten used to the pain a constant reminder of what he would never have. Omegas were good for jobs no one wanted, cleaning, babysitting, cooking, and other menial jobs although a few others were allowed to work in human establishments.

After his father died at the age of 5, it has been him, his mum, and his 2 yr old sister ever since. He was pretty skilled, due to the

fact that he had to learn as many trades as possible to make enough money to help his family especially since his sister suffered a rogue attack and has been in a coma for 10 years now.

"how long have you known?" Fiona asked cutting him off his train of thought

"I first found out two days after my 17 birthday, I'm 18 now"

"Why did you not tell me "

Elijah chuckled saying nothing.

"Does this seem funny to you?", they had stopped dancing as she glared at him waiting for an answer

he shrugged, "what do you want me to say"

How she hated him, standing there acting all smart with her, she grabbed his shirt and pulled him out. They walked towards the trees where she was sure no one could hear, he just allowed her to pull him with a

lazy look on his face as soon as they stopped she whipped around landing punch straight through his face.

Elijah hit the ground landing on his back, yup, she sure could land a punch, he shook his head, blinking several times as he moved to a sitting position not bothering to get up.

"explain yourself, how dare you a mere omega be mated to me "

"that's what I'd like to know why am I this unfortunate to be mated to you ?"

"Excuse me! watch your mouth Omega, I will not tolerate any more disrespect from you" she warned walking towards him like a predator. Elijah could not help but admire her, she looked really sexy all fired up but that did not stop the words that left his lips
