chapter 15 Five years ago, I shouldn't have let him go

"Sister, what's wrong?" Samuel asked, sensing that the tenth senior, Candice, seemed a bit off.

Candice shook her head. "It's nothing, just some trouble back at my family in Jinling."

"Junior, I'll go back for a bit. I'll come find you later."

"Alright, I'll continue investigating my parents' cause of death here in Jiangnan City. Maybe my Uncle Zhou knows something." Samuel nodded.

"Alright." Candice nodded with ease.

She instructed Samuel that if he came to Teiyuan Hotel to eat, he didn't need to pay.

After watching the tenth senior leave, Samuel headed straight for the Zhou family's villa. Jayden, Faye, and Carrie were anxiously waiting at home. As soon as Samuel appeared, they rushed towards him.

"Samuel, are you okay?"

"We heard at home that Gangnam King is dead, killed by a woman with a formidable background."

"Samuel, what happened?"

The family of three looked at Samuel with concern.

Samuel smiled and explained, "Uncle Zhou, Gangnam King is indeed dead. The woman you mentioned is my senior sister."

"Your senior sister?" The Zhou family exchanged puzzled looks.

Samuel had no choice but to explain that she was his senior sister from when he was studying martial arts at Kunlun Mountain. He didn't go into too much detail about her background or identity.

"I see," Jayden nodded.

Carrie worriedly said, "But, Gangnam King is dead. Samuel, are you sure you're safe? I'm really worried."

"Carrie, don't worry. I'm fine. No one can harm me." Samuel smiled, gently patting her hand to reassure her.

Carrie finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Samuel continued to ask, "Uncle Zhou, do you know any more information about my parent's and older brother's deaths?"

"I only know that those two warriors were close to Gangnam King. I couldn't find out anything else." Jayden shook his head.

"It seems I'll have to try other methods," Samuel furrowed his brows. He hadn't expected his parents' deaths to have such wide-reaching implications, to the point where even Gangnam King couldn't protect him.

"By the way, I remember that when your parents died, Gangnam King was in frequent contact with the family in Jinling," Jayden suddenly mentioned.

"Jinling?" Samuel's heart stirred.

Jayden nodded. "Yes, Samuel. Your senior sister dared to kill Gangnam King, which means she's not an ordinary person. If you investigate further, you might find out the cause of your parents' death."

"Jinling... Alright, I understand." Samuel took note of this. He planned to visit Jinling when he had the chance to inquire further.

"Beep, beep, beep!"

At this moment, Carrie's phone rang. "Hello? Ah... you're coming to Jiangnan City? Well... uh, my family has some issues, so maybe it's better to cancel. Huh? This... um, let me think about it." Carrie looked a bit conflicted and hung up the phone.

Seeing this, Samuel asked with concern, "Carrie, what's wrong?"

"My college classmate is coming to Jiangnan City and wants to invite me to dinner," Carrie explained. Given the current situation, she wasn't very keen on attending a class reunion, and she also wanted to spend more time with Samuel now that he was back.

Samuel seemed to sense her dilemma and smiled, "What's wrong? I'll come with you if you like."

"Ah?" Carrie suddenly brightened up.

"Yeah, aren't I your fiancé?" Samuel grinned.

"That's great! Let me go change." Carrie's eyes lit up as she hurried back to her room, changed into a new outfit, and even put on some light makeup, exuding a charming aura.

"Take my car." Jayden walked up with a smile and tossed the keys to the Audi A8 to Samuel.

Watching the two leave, Faye's expression suddenly changed. She looked at Jayden and said, "Husband, are you planning to let them be together?"

"What's wrong?" Jayden sensed that something was off with his wife.

Since Samuel entered the villa, Faye hadn't been very enthusiastic, and some might even say she seemed distant.

Faye said irritably, "This child, Samuel, grew up under our care. But is he suitable for Carrie?"

"He killed someone as soon as he returned, and he mentioned that so-called senior sister of his, whom we've never even met, killed Gangnam King."

"That was Gangnam King, you know? We're just ordinary people. How could we possibly provoke him?"

"If this matter comes to light, what will happen to our family? Will we get implicated?" Faye was very worried. "It would be better if Samuel didn't come back. Carrie could marry Austin, and it wouldn't be..."

"You stop right there!" Jayden said sternly.

"Austin poisoned you. How can you say such things?"

"If our daughter marries Austin, it's like jumping into a fire pit."

"And what about Samuel?" Faye glared at Jayden. "Is he your sworn brother's son? Don't think I don't know. Ethan is Seith's son, that's for sure. Samuel was just picked up back then."

"A stray picked up from the streets, and you want to..."

"Smack!"

Hearing this, Jayden slapped Faye across the face. "Shut your mouth! Don't you dare speak of this? This matter, you're not allowed to talk about it."

"Fine, hit me. You'd kill for a stray, wouldn't you?" Faye cried, feeling wronged.

Jayden nervously looked around, then walked to the front door. Seeing Samuel and Carrie leaving in the Audi A8, disappearing from view, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"If you utter one more word

of nonsense, I won't hit you, I'll kill you." Jayden's eye twitched. His gaze turned cold as he looked at Faye.

"This is the first and last time!"

"If you dare to bring up Samuel's background again, watch me decide whether or not to kill you."

"You..."

Faye was stunned. She had been married to Jayden for over twenty years, and he was willing to kill for a stray.

In the luxurious mansion in the capital.

Somewhere deep within, a middle-aged man in sturdy attire exuded an imposing presence.

He answered a call with one hand, standing tall and his expression fluctuating. "Alright, I understand."

After hanging up the phone, the imposing middle-aged man spoke, "Saxon failed! Azure Dragon and Rosefinch, when teaming up, were defeated by the two masters around Candice."

"They seem to be disciples of the Old Ghost of Shu Province!"

Sitting across from him was an elegant man in Zhongshan attire. He was taken aback, "The Old Ghost of Shu Province? Wasn't he supposed to be dead?"

"How come he's still alive?"

"Brother Urbo, I remember back then you led the team to pursue the Old Ghost of Shu Province and entered Kunlun Mountain..."

The imposing man turned out to be none other than Long Country's renowned War God, Urbo.

Urbo War God shook his head. "He escaped into that place, and the people inside..."

He fell silent for a moment before continuing, "I thought he wouldn't come out again."

"So, it seems that Candice has been inside, and she even stayed there for a few years." The middle-aged man's brows furrowed deeply. His expression was grave. "If that's the case, Samuel is very likely to be a disciple of one of those ninety-nine people!"

"Five years ago, we couldn't kill him. Now, trying to kill him again might be a bit difficult."

"He's already a Master!"

The middle-aged man sighed.

He turned to the Urbo War God. "Please help me one last time?"

"But this is your..." Urbo War God frowned.

The middle-aged man's face showed signs of struggle. Then, he gritted his teeth and said, "If he doesn't die, I will. You know, if she finds out about this, she won't spare me."

"So, Samuel must die!"

Urbo War God stood up slowly and walked towards the door. "I'll help you one last time!"

"After Samuel's death, we don't need to meet again."
