"A reasonable explanation? Are you asking me why I'm interrogating you?"
Faced with Tyrone Qin's tough demeanor, Hannah Wang remained composed and responded righteously, "By law, citizens are required to cooperate with police investigations for a maximum of 24 hours. Does that satisfy your need for an explanation?"
"——"
Tyrone Qin was momentarily speechless. The policewoman before him was akin to a lioness, strong and shrewd, skillfully employing the rules.
"Name?"
Hannah Wang opened her notebook, held a pen, and inquired.
"It's on my ID card, but can't you read it yourself?"
Tyrone Qin leaned against the wall, glanced sideways at Hannah Wang, and replied lazily.
"Let me remind you, this is the criminal police department. You'd better be truthful with me. How do you respond when I ask you for your name? Name!"
Hannah Wang's expression shifted slightly, and the Saintess Peak on her chest wobbled slightly, with astonishing amplitude—mainly because of its size.
"Tyrone Qin, as in the Qin Dynasty, and Qin like 'the wind of scenery,'" Tyrone Qin answered, subconsciously glancing at Hannah Wang's oscillating peaks.
"Age?"
Tyrone Qin's wandering gaze didn't escape Hannah Wang's notice. She felt irritated but didn't immediately lose her temper.
"Twenty-four."
"Occupation?"
Hannah Wang made note of the answer and asked again.
This time, Tyrone Qin remained silent.
"Occupation?"
Hannah Wang raised her voice and looked into Tyrone Qin's eyes. She observed that the casual air he had displayed earlier had dissipated, replaced by a more serious demeanor.
"Unemployed."
As if in a matter of moments, Tyrone Qin reverted to his previous nonchalant appearance and replied casually.
"I must remind you to cooperate, or it won't go well for you!"
Hannah Wang, undeterred by Tyrone Qin's change in demeanor, spoke coldly. "The other two bodyguards with Diana Zhang are both skilled professionals in the bodyguard industry. Yet, they were easily overpowered by the assailant, and you effortlessly subdued the assailant. Tell me you're homeless—isn't that a bit implausible?"
"You're certainly magnanimous and trusting," Tyrone Qin conceded candidly.
"What did you just say?"
Even though Hannah Wang had good self-control, hearing the phrase "big breasts and no brains" roused her anger. She stood up and pointed at Tyrone Qin.
"Is there a direct connection between the fact that I easily subdued the murderer and the fact that I'm homeless? Can't a homeless person know martial arts? As a child, I trained in martial arts at places like Shaolin, Wudang, and Emei, didn't I?" Tyrone Qin responded to Hannah Wang's anger with a rhetorical question, dismissing her ire.
Hannah Wang maintained eye contact with Tyrone Qin, unable to refute his point—they indeed had no direct connection.
"Hmm."
Hannah Wang took a deep breath and inquired, "What's your relationship with Tim Zhang?"
"It's not relevant," Tyrone Qin replied, sensing that Hannah Wang's harsh interrogation was likely tied to Tim Zhang.
Tyrone Qin had noticed Tim Zhang's animosity towards Hannah Wang when they were at the high-speed rail station.
"Not relevant? Yet you risked your life to save his daughter?"
Hannah Wang sneered. During their ride from the high-speed rail station to the police station, she had pondered why Tyrone Qin had rejected Tim Zhang's business card. She concluded that it might have been a charade, designed to eliminate suspicion from the police.
"When we were in school, our teachers taught us to be courageous and to emulate Lei Feng. What's wrong with that?" Tyrone Qin responded, continuing to tease Hannah Wang and steer clear of the potential dispute.
"Stop with the clever talk!" Hannah Wang stared at Tyrone Qin coldly. "Do you think I can't uncover the truth without your confession?"
"Feel free to look into it," Tyrone Qin replied, unfazed.
Knock, knock...
At that moment, a knock sounded at the door.

The iron door swung open in response, revealing a male officer who had accompanied Hannah Wang to the high-speed rail station earlier. He held a piece of information in his hand.
"Hannah, this is the info on the killer. His name is Kenneth Huang, with the nickname Evil Huang. He's a veteran in the assassin world and has never failed a job since he started."
The male officer placed the information in front of Hannah Wang and then glanced at Tyrone Qin. In his eyes, Tyrone Qin played a pivotal role in the police's capture of Kenneth Huang.
"Where's his info?"
Hannah Wang showed more interest in Tyrone Qin's information than that of the killer Kenneth Huang.
"His file is incredibly brief. Just one sentence," the male officer said with a strange expression.
"Just one sentence?" Hannah Wang raised an eyebrow. "What does it say?"
"You don't have clearance..."
The male officer's expression grew even more peculiar. As a department of the police specializing in high-profile cases, the Criminal Police Team held significant investigative authority but lacked the clearance to access Tyrone Qin's information. This could only mean one thing—Tyrone Qin's identity was exceptionally unusual.
"Are you a special forces soldier?"
Upon hearing the male officer's words, Hannah Wang deduced something. With a background in a military family, she knew well that in China, only two types of individuals had their files restricted from police access and required specific authorization: high-ranking officials and members of the military's clandestine units.
Tyrone Qin, being only twenty-four years old, couldn't be a high-ranking official. Therefore, the second possibility seemed more likely.
"What's your guess?"
Tyrone Qin felt irritated at the inexplicable interrogation. Why should he cooperate under such circumstances?
"You... you think that just because you retired from the secret forces, you're safe? Let me tell you, I can investigate it even if you don't tell me!" Hannah Wang sneered.
"Well, go ahead and try," Tyrone Qin responded with a smile. He was genuinely curious about the source of Hannah Wang's unwavering confidence.
Hannah Wang decided to put her words into action. Under the watchful eyes of Tyrone Qin and the male police officer, she took out her mobile phone and made a call.
"Help me look into a person, Tyrone Qin, from the secret forces," Hannah Wang stated directly and firmly during the call, her tone leaving no room for questioning.
This unexpected move left both the male officer and Tyrone Qin stunned. The male officer had heard rumors that Hannah Wang grew up in a military compound, but this was the first time he saw concrete evidence confirming it. As for Tyrone Qin, he understood that even within the military, only a select few had the authority to investigate the secret forces.
"As a soldier, you once donned that military uniform, carried that weapon, and pledged your allegiance under the national flag and emblem. Now you're working for a criminal. It's truly disheartening," Hannah Wang chided him, her expression stern.
After ending the call, Tyrone Qin didn't react angrily, as he could sense that Hannah Wang had an ulterior motive. He looked at her sidelong and said, "Beautiful police officer, be careful, I might sue you for defamation."
Although Hannah Wang's words were harsh, Tyrone Qin remained calm, considering her underlying motives. He continued, "Do you have any more questions? If not, I'd like to leave."
"Do I need to grant you permission to leave?" Hannah Wang frowned.
"Ring..."
At that moment, a phone placed on the interrogation table rang, the ringtone jarring in the otherwise quiet room.
"Hello," Hannah Wang answered the phone, her tone still unfriendly.
"Hannah, Philip Zhu, the vice president of Baixiong Group, has just given his statement regarding the high-speed rail kidnapping case. Stop causing a fuss and let Tyrone Qin go," Captain Zhou instructed on the other end of the line.
"Team Leader Zhou..." Hannah Wang attempted to respond.
As the final word left Hannah Wang's lips, the sudden vibration of her phone filled the room. She immediately glanced at the incoming caller ID, then shot Tyrone Qin a pointed look, silently emphasizing her previous declaration, as if to say, "I always make good on my promises."
Tyrone Qin was caught somewhere between amusement and bemusement. He had certainly encountered a plethora of women throughout his life, each with their unique quirks. Yet, Hannah's unwavering determination was a first for him. The intensity of her resolve ignited his curiosity further. What could have possibly transpired between Hannah Wang and Tim Zhang to ignite such a fiery vendetta?
"Have you managed to gather any intel?" Hannah inquired, pressing the phone's answer button. She kept her eyes intently focused on Tyrone, trying to decipher any minute changes in his expression that might reveal something.
A deep, magnetic voice responded from the other end of the line, "No, Hannah. The files on the person in question are sealed with the utmost level of secrecy. Only a select few, those at the very top, possess the authorization to access such data."
Hannah's eyes widened in disbelief. "What did you just say?" she stammered, the weight of the revelation causing her to grip the phone even tighter, her face a canvas of pure astonishment.
Seizing the moment to tease her a little, Tyrone Qin mockingly saluted her, saying, "Until next time, beautiful officer." With that, he strode out of the interrogation room with an exaggerated swagger.
Left in his wake, Hannah Wang stood frozen, still clutching the phone, her gaze fixed on the door through which he had exited. The shock had rendered her momentarily statuesque, as she grappled with the unexpected twist of events.
