Lorcia Xiao sighed as she saw her parents continuously blaming Bradlety Ye. "Dad, Mom, this has nothing to do with Bradlety. I don't want them to look down on us anymore. Haven't we suffered enough over the years?"
Lorcia's mother blurted out, "You still shouldn't have taken this job. Even if Old lady Xiao went, they wouldn't pay attention to her!"
Bradlety Ye watched the scene unfold with a wry smile. His in-laws, blinded by their greed, would never believe he was the owner of Emgrand Group.
Just then, a knock sounded at the door.
"I'm coming…"
Insania Ma, his mother-in-law, sighed as she opened the door.
Bradlety glanced over and saw a young man at the door, dressed in an Armani suit, exuding elegance and talent, wearing a Patek Philippe watch worth at least three to five million.
His mother-in-law excitedly exclaimed, "Oh, it's Eric Zhang! What brings you here?"
The visitor was Eric Zhang, who had been pursuing Lorcia Xiao.
Eric said with a smile, "Auntie, I heard Lorcia took on a project with Emgrand Group, so I came to offer some advice."
"Oh! You're truly our family's savior!"
Insania Ma was thrilled, looking at Eric as if he were her son-in-law, inviting him in while saying, "Eric, can you help Lorcia secure the contract with Emgrand Group?"
Eric nodded with a smile, ignoring Bradlety Ye and heading straight for Lorcia. "Lorcia, you didn’t tell me about such a big deal. Don't worry, our family's company has a partnership with Emgrand Group. I'll ask my dad to put in a word. We'll do everything to help you."
In reality, Eric's father didn't have that much influence; he was just showing off in front of Lorcia.
Lorcia, aware of Eric's interest in her, responded coldly, "Thank you for your offer, Eric, but I'll find my own way."
Insania Ma exclaimed in disbelief, "Lorcia, are you crazy? Eric is kindly offering help, how can you speak to him like that?"
Lorcia remained silent, but Bradlety Ye curiously asked Eric, "Mr. Zhang, I'm curious, how can you help Lorcia? Emgrand Group is huge, surely it can't be swayed by your family? Can you really get them to sign a contract with Lorcia?"
Eric scoffed disdainfully, "What do you know? Our Zhang family has always been a close partner with Emgrand Group. Out of their 2 billion project, we'll get at least a third. I'll ask my dad to subcontract a few tens of millions from that portion to Lorcia. That would solve her problem, wouldn't it?"
Bradlety Ye feigned surprise, "Wow! I had no idea the Zhang family was so closely linked with Emgrand Group!"
Eric snorted, "Of course! In Jin Ling, who doesn’t know about our close cooperation with Emgrand Group?"
After saying this, Eric looked down on Bradlety Ye, "Bradlety Ye, I advise you, a frog in the well, to leave Lorcia. A man like you can’t give her happiness; you'll only hold her back."
Lorcia then said coldly, "Sorry, Mr. Zhang, I don’t need your help, and please don’t disrespect my husband!"
Eric was stunned, "Lorcia, I'm helping you, and you still side with this loser? What does he have that's worth your protection?"
Lorcia firmly replied, "He's not a loser; he's my husband!"
Angered, Eric retorted, "Fine! Refuse the toast only to drink the forfeit! I’d like to see how you deal with this trouble! Don’t blame me if you can’t handle it later!"
With that, Eric Zhang stormed out.
Insania Ma tried to follow and explain, but Eric had already gone far.
She slapped her thigh in frustration and scolded Bradlety Ye, "You’ve driven me crazy! You’re such a loser, only dragging Lorcia down. Eric was kindly helping, and you drove him away!"
Bradlety Ye calmly replied, "Mom, he was just talking. He can't get a partnership with Emgrand Group, how could he help Lorcia?"
"You’re talking nonsense!" Insania Ma fumed. "The Zhang family can secure a third of Emgrand Group’s project, what do you know!"
Bradlety Ye inwardly smirked. I may not know about the Zhang family’s capabilities, but I do know that my Emgrand Group will never collaborate with them. Even if there were past collaborations, they would now all be terminated!
Unaware of Bradlety Ye's thoughts, Lorcia said to her mother, "Mom, don't blame Bradlety. Let's talk after I returned from Emgrand Group."
"Ah!" Insania Ma sighed deeply, feeling fate's injustice. She had married a useless man, and her daughter married an even more useless one.
