chapter 5 sixth sense

Megan slumped on the sofa, her small hands restless in her ink-like hair, visibly agitated.
"Megan, don't worry too much about the company. I'll handle it for you. You've helped me before; consider this my way of repaying you."
Martin spoke up.
"Thank you..."
Megan replied weakly, her autumn eyes slightly lowered.
The predicament of the White Group wasn't something easily resolved.
Still, Martin's words brought warmth to her heart.
She never expected that the person she could rely on now would be Martin, whom she had known for only two days.
Bang!
The office door was pushed open again, and two uniformed patrol officers briskly entered.
"Who's Martin?"
One of the robust, dark-skinned patrol officers shouted.
"I am. What's the matter, gentlemen?"
Martin furrowed his brow, sensing that something was amiss.
"Hello, we're from the Yorksimvil Patrol. We have a case we'd like you to assist us in investigating. Please come with us."
The dark-skinned patrol officer said sternly.
"A case?"
"Yes, it's about the murderer Ryan Ford! We'll explain the details later!"
Megan was shocked and quickly stepped forward to explain, "Officers, have you misunderstood something? Martin has nothing to do with that murderer!"
However, the two officers ignored her protests and insisted on taking Martin away.
Martin gestured slightly, his brow lightly furrowed, and he said, "Megan, don't worry. I'll be back soon!"
With that, he followed the two officers out of the company.
"Martin!"
Megan called out anxiously.
The office erupted into chaos.
"Wow! The guy Madam White found is taken away by the patrol officers!"
"That guy must be a criminal!"
"Heh, Madam White has no vision. Instead of choosing Young Master Zachar, she went for this kind of dubious character!"
"If she had a vision, would our company be in such a predicament today? Ultimately, it was a lack of consideration when Old Master White handed the company over to Madam White."
Some of the old employees in the company gossiped, looking towards the chairman's office, all silently chuckling.
Megan was frustrated but helpless.
She knew that many in the company supported Calvin.
As long as Megan and Calvin got together, White Group would undoubtedly receive support from the Zachar Family!
When White Group expanded and became robust, their benefits and treatment would naturally improve.
People's hearts, in the end, were unpredictable.
Megan gritted her teeth and took out her phone, dialing a number.
"Hello, is this Sis Tracy?"
"Oh, Madam White called me. What a rare occasion! What's up? Miss me?"
The voice on the other end was a hearty female voice, with a hint of playfulness.
"Sis Tracy, I need to ask for a favor. Just now, a friend of mine was inexplicably taken away by the Yorksimvil Patrol."
"Your friend? What's his name?"
"Martin."
"A guy?"
"Yes."
"Well, well, well, I never thought our beauty, Megan, would have a boyfriend."
"Sis Tracy, don't tease me. He's here to help me deal with Calvin."
Megan briefly explained Martin's rescue, of course, omitting the part about Martin's fortune-telling skills. Tracy was an atheist and a patrol officer; she wouldn't believe in such things.
"Megan, why would you do such a foolish thing?"
Upon learning that Megan had considered jumping into the river, Tracy was a bit angry and couldn't help but reprimand her.
"Sis Tracy, I was just temporarily out of my mind! Rest assured, I won't do it again."
"I know you've been under a lot of pressure lately, but there's no obstacle you can't overcome! Get your mindset right. As for this Martin, I'll ask around. Of course, let me make it clear, if he has a problem, I'll be impartial!"
Tracy said seriously before hanging up the phone.
The patrol car sped along but eventually arrived at the Willow Family villa by the river.
After getting out of the car, Martin vaguely guessed something.
"Captain! The person has been brought here."
The dark-skinned patrol officer saluted a man with a flower-patterned shoulder.
"Good job."
The man nodded, looking at Martin. "Mr. Jenkins, right? I am Captain Darcy Zachar from the city patrol bureau! We brought you here to assist in the investigation. We hope you can understand."
"No problem, cooperating with the patrol is the duty of every citizen."
Martin said with a smile.
They entered the villa.
Inside the villa, Darreb Willow and his daughter were sitting on the sofa, drinking tea and chatting.
Sitting across from them was a man in traditional clothing with a goatee.
The man wore jade finger cots, and there were a few religious symbols on the back of his hand, presenting an air of mystery and depth.
Seeing Darcy bring Martin in, Jennifer spoke lightly, "Captain Darcy, thank you for your hard work!"
"It's my duty," Darcy said, turning to Martin.
"Mr. Jenkins, we have no other intentions. We just want to ask you a few questions about the crime scene, confirm some factors, and if there are no issues, you can leave."
"Go ahead," Martin nodded.
Darcy didn't beat around the bush.
"Mr. Jenkins, according to our investigation, it seems that Miss Megan was the one who called the police initially, and she did so at your behest, is that correct?"
"Absolutely."
Martin admitted straightforwardly.
"Why did Mr. Jenkins call the police?"
Darcy continued.
"Do we still need to ask? This person was colluding with the murderer Ryan, trying to harm the Willow Family!"
Jennifer, putting down her teacup, coldly said, "I think Ryan is the one brought here by this person!"
"Miss Willow, false accusations can lead to imprisonment; be careful with your words and actions!"
Martin looked deeply at Jennifer.
"Miss Willow, without evidence, please refrain from making hasty conclusions," Darcy added.
He was somewhat displeased.
If the case didn't have such a significant impact, he wouldn't have come here.
"Jennifer, let Captain Darcy question him first! The wheels of justice grind slowly but exceedingly fine! If he's a criminal, Captain Darcy will surely bring him to justice!"
Darreb smiled.
Jennifer nodded with a smile, a hint of disdain flashing in her eyes.
Martin pondered for a moment and calmly stated, "I called the police because I sensed danger inside."
"Sensed? Are you saying a sixth sense?" Darcy frowned.
"Yes!" Martin nodded.
Darcy's expression became unnatural.
He was not satisfied with Martin's answer.
"It seems I need to take Mr. Jenkins back to the station for questioning."
"Why? Captain Darcy doesn't believe me?"
"We rely on evidence, not feelings," Darcy scoffed.
"I have evidence," Martin said.
"About Ryan?" Darcy was puzzled.
"No, about my sixth sense."
"You..."
Darcy was annoyed. He felt that Martin had played with him and was about to react forcefully, insisting on taking Martin back for further investigation.
However, at this moment, Martin suddenly approached, whispered something, and said...
"Captain Darcy, were you born on December 7, 1989? From Rotwich City in Forwer County? Your father's name is Alexander, and your mother is Susan Lynch. You had a birthmark on your right buttock, which earned you the nickname 'Crazy Butt' in the village, is that correct?"
Darcy was shocked, "You investigated me? You're audacious! That's illegal!"
"Captain Darcy, today is our first meeting. How could I have investigated you? I simply deduced it from your facial features and palm lines," Martin shook his head.
"Deduced?"
Darcy's eyes trembled.
"Yes, deduced! This is what I call the sixth sense," Martin said earnestly.
