Chapter 17 Cynicism

Li Yuan was two years older than Ella, and the two of them always took care of each other in their work.

So Li always informed Ella of whatever she knew.

She knew how much Ella wanted the chance and how hard she had striven for this.

However, the chance had already been given to Dong Weiwei and there was no hope for Ella.

Li didn’t want Ella to offend the director for this matter.

Ella calmed down and sat on the chair, Li comforted her: “There will always be such chances, so don’t bother about it.”

“It’s unfair...” Ella almost cried.

What she strove so hard to get was ripped easily by Dong.

“Ella, there are lots of unfair matters in this world.”

Ella was desperate, and Li gently patted her on the shoulder.

“Be calm! The chance has gone, and there is no use offending the director, understand?” Li gave her a piece of napkin and sighed.

Li knew Ella’s feeling though she didn’t say anything.

With several years of working experience in hospital, it was easy for Ella to understand this.

She didn’t realize when Li left, but when she calm down, it was time to get off work.

Somebody knocked on her door rudely, and went in without her invitation.

“I’ve got the chance to exchange in g city, so are you happy for me?” Dong flaunted with smile.

“Yeah, I am happy,” Ella sighed.

“Be on time this evening,” Dong laughed and left.

The news that Dong got the chance had spread over the whole hospital on the afternoon, and meanwhile, it was the same with the fact that she was the daughter of the famous merchant, Dong Zhen.

Many doctors were polite to Dong Weiwei due to her family background.

When Ella arrived at the Caiheju Hotel, the gathering place, the banquet hall was full of colleagues from the whole hospital.

Ella and Li were around the same table. Dong deliberately got changed and wore organdy miniskirt.

“Dong is indeed born in a rich family. Look at her skirt, it’s the best one in Paris summer fashion show, and its price is over 100 thousand yuan,” their colleague Lyu Yi said.

“Anyway, she’s the daughter of Dong Zhen, who’s so rich that she donated 300 million yuan to arrange her daughter at the hospital the year before last.”

“The hospital president agreed cheerfully for the 300 million yuan.”

All the guests were talking about Dong Weiwei’s work at her mother’s hospital.

Ella drank some water, and heard Dong Weiwei’s words. “Ella is my classmate, and tonight I’m going to enjoy drinking with her.”

Following Dong took a waitress with glasses and liquor.

The waitress poured the two glasses two-third full.

“Here you are! Forget about beer. Let’s drink liquor!” Dong gave one of the glasses to Ella.

Ella didn’t show weakness and accepted the glass.

“I thought it would be your wedding with Yichen when I can meet you again. Does Yichen know that you’ll go back late?” Dong chuckled.

Gu frowned.

“Oh, I almost forget. You were dumped.” Dong spoke again before Ella talking.

Hearing this, Ella can’t help holding tightly her glass.
