Chapter 1 Police Called: Your Husband and You Sister Fall Into River

A sharp ringing pierced the silence of midnight, Scarlet woke up sweating. Staring confusedly at the phone on the bedside table, she answered it, while pressing her painful temple.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Mrs. Tang. This is the first detachment of traffic inspectors. Your husband and your sister’s car fell into the river. Could you please bring two sets of clothes...they are naked..." Scarlet couldn’t hear the officer’s last words, the only sentence echoing in her ears was“they are naked...”

What the...?! My sister and my husband?

How wild was it to fall into a river?

"Hello, hello? Mrs. Tang? Did you hear me?"

Scarlet hung up the phone in silence. She squeezed her fists firmly, and the wedding ring on her left ring finger was gleaming, which made her eyes and heart ache. Even though she had expected the day of truth would come, but she didn’t think it would be in this dramatic way, that was why she still felt so pained and sad.

Scarlet arrived at the police station at almost two o'clock in the morning. The policewoman in charge of the reception was a young girl. She looked at Scarlet sympathetically, whispering and comforting, "How could you send clothes here? This jerk should be drowned in the river."

Scarlet smiled bitterly and said in an unspeakable desolation: "It was me who chose the man."

"..." The young policewoman looked at Scarlet in surprise. Generally, a woman knowing her husband cheated would cry and make a lot of noises. But Scarlet’s reaction was a bit strange, she was too calm.

After completing all the formalities, Scarlet saw her husband Younan Tang, and her elder sister Zijin Song taken out and released by police officers. She looked at them from a distance. After a long while, she clenched her bag tightly and walked out of the police station quickly.

The midnight wind was icy and bitter. Scarlet stood by the car, squeezing tightly the handle, trembling with restraint. The moment she saw them, she wanted to desperately kill these shameless bastards!

Pulling the car door, and at the moment she was about to get in, she was caught by a beautiful slender hand. She froze and saw a comely face, it was Zijin. Scarlet couldn't help frowning and said in disgust: "Don't touch me. Dirty bitch!"

Zijin didn’t let her go but held tighter. She looked at Scarlet's pale face and smiled maliciously: "Scarlet, don't be angry. I'll take care of Younan for you and there would be no drama of mistresses robbing your status of Mrs. Tang. You should thank me..."

Scarlet shouted angrily: "Is there a woman more shameless than you in the world? He is your brother-in-law! You are my sister! How could you hook up with him? Even if you don’t care about me, do you ignore your own husband?"

Zijin said disapprovingly: "Oh, what you said is nonsense. Since you can't meet your husband’s sexual needs, as your elder sister, I should naturally help you and take good care of your husband."

Scarlet was so indignant that she couldn't help but want to slap Zijin severely.

However, her hand was intercepted in the mid-air and shaken away by Zijin. Scarlet was unstable in high-heeled shoes, and embarrassingly fell. Her elbows were abraded, which made her gasp in pain.

Zijin squatted down in front of Scarlet, reached out and held her sharp chin, and said viciously: "Well, since you care about my husband, why don't we change husbands? You are frigid and he is incompetent. You are a perfect match!"

"Shame on you!" Scarlet waved away her hand and blushed. Could she be more shameless? She even proposed to change husbands. How sad would Harry Shen be after knowing it?

Zijin clapped her hands and stood up, staring condescendingly at Scarlet from a commanding position, smiled complacently: "Scarlet, go back and think about my proposal. I’m looking forward to your reply."

Scarlet was trembling with anger. She looked at Younan, her husband, and her sister’s lover now, tears welling up, "Younan, why it must be her?"

Younan pretended to be deaf and didn't explain to her. He walked to Zijin, took her hand, and held her to his company’s car he called minutes ago, and then signaled the driver to get ready to go.

Scarlet reacted quickly, stood up from the ground, came over to the car, and buckled the car door. She looked at him with scorching eyes, "You tell me! What do I mean to you after these years?"

Younan looked at her, and the corner of his mouth slowly drew a light smile, "Innocent Scarlet, what are you afraid of? Don't worry, no one can shake your position as Mrs. Tang."

Scarlet felt painful deeply. For him, did she just want the title of Mrs. Tang? She slowly let go of her hands. In the next second, the car door slammed and left like a flying arrow.

Watching the black limousine disappeared at the end of the road, Scarlet squatted down powerlessly and stretched out her hands to embrace her trembling body. Tears slipped down quietly. The midnight wind blew up her long hair, and her whole person seemed to melt into the night, looking desolate and bleak.

In the distance, a black Maybach stopped quietly by the side of the road. The door opened and a tall man came out. He put his hands in his trousers’ pockets, and walked toward Scarlet in a leisurely manner, and kicked her calf with the tip of his shoes, "Are you going to squat here until the end of time?"

The man’s deep voice with smile rendered Scarlet raised head reflexively and saw a handsome man clearly, she suddenly recognized him and stammered: "Uncle, why are you here?"

Every time Scarlet saw Harry Shen, she didn’t know what to call him. He was Younan Tang’s fourth uncle. She should have called him uncle too after she got married to Younan. However, he married her sister Zijin and was also her brother-in-law. So every time she met him, she was very confused, especially this time.

Harry was handsome and elegant. He leaned slightly with a deeper smile, stared at her, his slightly alcoholic breath sprayed on her face. Scarlet instantly blushed and stepped back, her heart beat quickly.

Since she retreated too quickly, and her legs were numb for squatting, and she was about to fall down.

At the very moment, the big hand grasped her small waving hand, and then steadied her with strong forces.

Scarlet was still in fear that she closed her eyes tightly. The wind was blowing in her ears. The next second, she opened her eyes and saw herself closely facing the thin lips of the man with strong forces...
