"They dropped the investigation. ” I furrowed my eyebrows as I sat at the table with Trevor.

“What?"

“Dain’s investigation... they drooped it." I place down the phone, staring at Trevor who unlike his tone, doesn't seem to care that much.

“And?"

"What do you mean and? He's a human being—"

“Don't tell me you're standing up for your abuser—"

"I'm standing up for a human." I raise an eyebrow...
