Chapter 37

Brielle awoke with a jolt and realized with a start that everything was pitch black. She blinked against the darkness, straining to see where she was. She gave up as soon as she tried. It was futile. Even the fog coming from her mouth was invisible, though she knew that it was present in front of her face. Resistance met her when she tried to move her hands. They were fastened together near her abdomen by something firm and compact. She shivered.
