CHAPTER 37 – Rachel

The hand over my mouth roused me into wakefulness, and I jerked trying to break free.

“Shhh,” Adrian whispered in my ear, “There is someone outside. Mum and Da are looking into it, but we need to get you out of here.”

“But it’s the middle of the night,” I frowned. “What aren’t you telling me?”

Alden appeared at the door fully dressed with a pack over his shoulder. Abel was behind him with another sachel.

Whoever was outside wasn’t here...
