"A surprise," my hands fiddled in my skirt. Admittedly, I was worried. I was half-convinced that Paul would shoot me down at the gate, and half-convinced that Jay would rather put a bullet in my head himself. But... on the slight chance that Jay missed me the same way I missed him... on the slight chance that I would be what he needed... a small smile appeared on my face as I thought about what the perfect reunion would look like between us.
