I looked at my mom to confirm if I am hearing what she said clearly. She raised her eyebrows as I swallowed.

"H-He's...he's a friend." I narrowed my gaze, trying to avoid her judgemental look on me.

"Since when did you start being friends with someone I didn't know?"

She looked so mad that I couldn't help but swallow hard, I could choke on my saliva anytime.
