"Misunderstanding, it was a misunderstanding this morning. Is it still a misunderstanding now?" Diana Lin clenched her teeth. She looked like a little tiger, ready to devour Jeff Jiang. Yes, they had gone through it in the morning, and here it was again. Facing the same person. This would test anyone's emotional control.
Jeff Jiang cleared his throat and took out a bunch of keys from his pocket. "I was sent here by Master Gong!"
Diana Lin's chest was heaving, but when she saw the keys, she instantly understood. Still, she was a little angry. She glared at Jeff Jiang, covered herself, and ran into the room.
Jeff Jiang sat awkwardly in the living room. It didn't take long before Diana Lin came out of the bedroom, wearing pajamas and revealing nothing.
"Alright, I'll give you a month's rent, go find another place!" Diana Lin sat across from Jeff Jiang.
"No!" Jeff Jiang shook his head. "I'm staying here for free. If you give me a month's rent, I'll have to pay for everything else. Isn't that unfair?"
"I don't believe you!" Diana Lin tried to calm herself and dialled a number. When the call connected, she was about to speak, but the voice on the other end beat her to it. "Diana, you must be calling about Mr. Jiang. I did arrange for him to come over."
"Just let him stay in my granddaughter's room. You both go to the same school. Even though you're in Western medicine and he's in Traditional Chinese Medicine, it won't affect your communication!"
"That's it, I have patients here..."
After saying this, Ava Gong hung up the phone. Diana Lin closed her eyes. From Ava Gong's words, she could glean something.
Finally, she glared at Jeff Jiang, stood up, and left. When she came back out, she had a piece of paper in her hand, which she handed over.
"Let’s make the law with Three Agreements?"
Looking at the elegant handwriting, Jeff Jiang felt a little strange. He read through the terms. The first: no entering each other's rooms. The second: no touching each other's belongings. The third...
After reading it all, Jeff Jiang hesitated. "I understand everything else, but this one about not using the bathroom or showering here, isn't that a bit much?"
Diana Lin's face looked a little unnatural. She finally spoke, "Alright, we can leave that one out. But whether you use the bathroom or shower, you must clean up after yourself!"
"Okay!" Jeff Jiang nodded and picked up the pen Diana Lin had placed nearby. He drew a line through that clause and signed his name.
Diana Lin took the agreement and was about to leave when she suddenly remembered something. "The last clause, verbal agreement. You're not allowed to talk about us living here together to anyone else!"
"Fine!" Jeff Jiang agreed.
Satisfied, Diana Lin nodded, then returned to her room. A while later, she emerged from the bedroom with two servings of instant noodles, handing one to Jeff Jiang. "Considering we're colleagues, I'll treat you to this!"
With that, Diana Lin took her own serving into the room. Jeff Jiang shook his head in resignation. Instant noodles? Sorry, he wasn't accustomed to eating them.
He picked up the groceries he had bought and headed to the kitchen. About half an hour later, Diana Lin walked out of the room, her face showing surprise. Her gaze was quickly drawn to the dishes on the table: four stir-fried dishes and steaming hot steamed buns.
Was she seeing things?
Just then, Jeff Jiang emerged from the kitchen, carrying a pot of soup. After setting it on the table, he looked at the stunned Diana Lin and said, "I can't finish it alone. Let's share. Consider it my treat!"
He sat down.
"I'm not eating anything you cooked!" Diana Lin wiped her mouth, her eyes glinting. She headed towards her room.
But as she reached the door, she suddenly turned around, a furious look in her eyes. "You... you actually used my dishes. You're in violation of the agreement!"
"I'll have to eat it back..." Diana Lin said, sitting across from Jeff Jiang and picking up the chopsticks to eat.
In an instant, her face showed surprise. The dishes looked appetizing, and they tasted even better. It was hard to believe that Jeff Jiang had made them.
Jeff Jiang watched, his lips twitching. This woman...
If she wanted to eat, why bother with so many excuses?
...
After the meal, Diana Lin wiped her mouth and looked at Jeff Jiang. Her gaze carried a hint of awkwardness. Finally, she said, "Considering your cooking is just about palatable, I'll take care of the rest!"
She began to tidy up the dishes and bowls.
Jeff Jiang shrugged helplessly and took the plate from Diana Lin's hand. "Sorry, we don't have this habit at home!"
That's right. While they had their family traditions, when it came to cooking and cleaning, he followed his father's habits. He never let his mother wash a dish.
According to his father, it was a form of discipline.
Watching the dazed Diana Lin, Jeff Jiang carried the dishes to the kitchen.
As he was washing up, he heard footsteps. Turning his head, he saw Diana Lin standing outside the door, her gaze in his direction tinged with avoidance.
Finally, she hesitated and said, "Mr. Jiang, I think it's necessary for us to talk."
"What?" Jeff Jiang was a bit puzzled.
"You don't need to go out of your way to please me. I won't be interested in you. I prefer someone more mature. Do you understand?" Diana Lin spoke calmly.
"Uh..." Jeff Jiang was bewildered. Finally, a strange expression appeared on his face. "Sorry, it seems my habits have led to a misunderstanding. But rest assured, I'm not interested in you either."
"That's for the best." Diana Lin, though a bit uncomfortable, nodded lightly.
Then, those beautiful eyes carefully scrutinized Jeff Jiang and she said, "Actually, you're not bad-looking. I believe with a bit of grooming, your appearance will stand out even more. I'm sure you'll find someone you like!"
"I have a fiancée, but I divorced her!" Jeff Jiang sighed inwardly.
"Divorced?" Diana Lin looked puzzled, then her eyes widened. Finally, she couldn't help but burst into laughter. "Of course I know her, can practically say there are few in all of Yanjing who don't! But, you're really boasting a bit too much..."
With that, Diana Lin shook her head and chose to leave. She didn't like people who bragged. What good would it do? It was just empty talk!
Jeff Jiang watched Diana Lin's departing figure, shaking his head in helplessness. He couldn't be bothered to explain. But did that woman, Luna Su, really have such a big reputation?
