"Come in!" Jeff Jiang pushed open the office door, only to find it empty. He placed Diana Lin's chair opposite his own and looked at Mabel Lu, saying, "Lie down."
"Huh?" Mabel Lu hesitated, her face turning even redder. "Teacher..."
"I'll treat you, and you'll feel better soon!" Jeff Jiang said, taking out a silver needle from his pocket.
Mabel Lu's cheeks flushed, realizing her misunderstanding. Following Jeff Jiang's instructions, she lay down on the chair, but her hands involuntarily clutched her clothes, clearly nervous.
Jeff Jiang shook his head and said, "Relax and put your hands aside." As he spoke, he half crouched in front of Mabel Lu.
Mabel Lu bit her lip and moved her hands to the side, but she couldn't help but close her eyes.
Jeff Jiang shook his head in resignation, then proceeded with the acupuncture. However, after a moment, he furrowed his brow; it seemed the position wasn't right. He carefully examined Mabel Lu's eyes and suddenly his face filled with a strange expression, as if he understood something.
He adjusted the position and Mabel Lu gradually began to relax, her face showing a hint of surprise. She could clearly feel her pain diminishing.
In the end, the pain completely disappeared, and to her astonishment, Jeff Jiang's hand was placed on her abdomen. Just as she was puzzled, a warm sensation filled her.
The feeling was extremely comfortable. In an instant, she couldn't help but let out a soft hum, blushing even deeper.
Fortunately, Jeff Jiang didn't seem to pay any attention to this. Just as Jeff Jiang finished, a voice filled with disbelief sounded, "What... what are you doing?"
At the sound, both of them lifted their heads and found that Diana Lin was standing at the door, her beautiful eyes filled with shock.
"Treatment!" Jeff Jiang was composed at this moment, while Mabel Lu was slightly flustered, not knowing what to do. She could only nod her head, trying to convey her meaning.
"Is this how you treat someone?" Diana Lin approached, her face faintly angry. "You are a teacher, after all!"
"I know I'm a respected teacher, but I'm also a doctor!" Jeff Jiang stood up as he spoke, looking at Mabel Lu. "How do you feel now, Mabel Lu?"
"Very comfortable!" Mabel Lu nodded gently, but she quickly felt that her words didn't sound quite right. Her face turned even redder, and she corrected herself, "I mean, I don't feel any pain now!"
Jeff Jiang didn't say anything further and began to remove the needles. Diana Lin observed this scene, and in an instant, she realized her misunderstanding. Her pretty face showed a hint of awkwardness.
Normally, she was a very rational and composed person. However, for some reason, whenever she saw Jeff Jiang, her rationality seemed to vanish, and her calm heart would stir with ripples.
But it wasn't her fault. After all, a female classmate was lying on a chair, and Jeff Jiang's hands were moving around. How could she not misunderstand?
"Go back and drink plenty of warm water, avoid cold and spicy foods," Jeff Jiang advised. "You can soak your feet in the evening to promote blood circulation. However, your cold condition won't be completely cured this time. When you have time, I'll give you more treatments!"
"Thank you, Teacher. I understand!" Mabel Lu shyly nodded, glanced at Diana Lin, and quickly left the office.
"Teacher Jiang, I'm sorry. I misunderstood you!" Diana Lin was quite generous at this moment, taking the initiative to apologize. However, her voice hesitated, "But there's a boundary between male and female, after all... she's still a girl..."
"For a healer, there is no distinction of gender!" Jeff Jiang interrupted Diana Lin, his face full of seriousness. "If you're concerned about these things, it might be better not to be a doctor."
Diana Lin was momentarily stunned by Jeff Jiang's words, as she had no reason to argue against them.
"All right, I have something to attend to. I'll take my leave first!" Jeff Jiang glanced at Diana Lin, who blushed and turned pale in turns. After bidding farewell, he chose to leave.
"This person..." Diana Lin watched Jeff Jiang's departing figure, taking a deep breath.
No, she had to sort out her emotions. She couldn't let Jeff Jiang affect her. Absolutely not!
Leaving the school, Jeff Jiang took out his phone, thought for a moment, and dialled a number. After a while, he put away his phone, hailed a taxi, and left the school.
Half an hour later, in a quiet bar.
Jeff Jiang sat at the bar, and on his right was an extremely handsome man.
"When did you arrive in Yanjing?" Jeff Jiang swirled the strong liquor in his hand and asked the man.
The man's name was Zeron Mu, born into an ancient martial arts family, and a top-tier assassin. Since he was beaten up by Jeff Jiang, he had become his mentor. For a long time now, the two had been both teacher and friend.
"Yesterday!" Zeron Mu responded.
"Why are you here?" Jeff Jiang was curious.
"To protect you!" Zeron Mu pondered for a moment. "That thing on you, while not great, has attracted the attention of many people."
Jeff Jiang rubbed his forehead and said, "I don't need protection. Go back to your own family."
Since Zeron Mu had started following him, it had been a very long time since he had returned to his own family, hadn't it?
"We'll see!" Zeron Mu shook his head.
"Well, let's have a drink..."
...
In the evening.
Jeff Jiang left the bar. He took out his phone to check the time and found it was past five. There was also a missed call.
Surprisingly, it was from Mabel Lu. Was something wrong?
But it was already late, so he didn't call back. Instead, he hailed a taxi and got in.
On the way back to the neighbourhood gate, just as Jeff Jiang was about to pay and get out of the car, he suddenly frowned. He saw six or seven people running toward him with baseball bats.
Coming for him?
Jeff Jiang raised an eyebrow. Without hesitation, he moved, and at the same time, an inexplicable force swirled around him.
In less than five minutes, all the men were lying on the ground.
Jeff Jiang looked at them with a furrowed brow. Had he offended someone?
Then he remembered something. It seemed he really had offended someone. It could be Song Chuan or Liu Ming. But how did these people know he lived here?
When he grabbed one of them, intending to ask, a cold voice said, "Don't move. Committing violence in public, you're in big trouble."
As the voice fell, several men in police uniforms walked over.
Jeff Jiang was taken aback, releasing the man. He didn't explain, as it would be futile to do so in his preconceived state of mind. He just needed to clarify things when making a statement.
As he got into the police car, not far away, a Rolls-Royce parked there. In the back seat, a figure watched the scene, his handsome brows furrowing. Soon after, a voice full of anger sounded, "Investigate who laid hands on him. I won't spare them..."
The voice was filled with indescribable anger.
The secretary beside her changed her expression. It was the first time she had seen Luna Su show such an expression.
But just as she was about to make a call, Luna Su sighed again, saying, "Forget it, I intervened casually. Perhaps he wouldn't like it..."
The secretary was once again puzzled. It was the first time she had seen Luna Su so indecisive.
