chapter 4 Just learn a lesson

In Jinghai, Fernando's name had become taboo over the past few years. Gu Family had tirelessly searched for him, even issuing a harsh warning: a reward of five million for anyone who found Fernando, dead or alive.
Five million might be inconsequential for the scions of these prominent families, but for ordinary people, it was a substantial fortune. This naturally led to numerous mistaken events.
Seeing Fernando's silent approval, the onlookers displayed disdain. If not for him, the Su Family wouldn't have fallen into such a plight.
"Uncle, why did you bring him back? Isn't our Su Family miserable enough?"
Owen Su, Peter's nephew and the only one with substantial control among the second generation, voiced the collective sentiment.
Owen's words found unanimous agreement among the crowd. Bringing Fernando back, especially if the Gu Family discovered it, was inviting trouble.
"Is that so?" Peter's expression darkened.
"Isn't it obvious?" Owen responded coolly. "You know Gu Family has been searching for Fernando for years."
Besides, he violated the Gu Family's heiress during his coming-of-age banquet. Ye Family was destroyed, and he was hunted down. He brought it upon himself, and you shouldn't have saved him back then, let alone bring him back now..."
"Bang!"
"Shut up!"
The cane slammed into the ground, and Peter was visibly furious.
Whatever others said about Fernando, he paid no mind. However, he never expected that the people in the Su family would be so foolish and muddled.
Peter didn't ask Fernando a single word about this matter from beginning to end. He firmly believed that Fernando couldn't possibly be that kind of person. There must be some mystery behind it.
"Fernando is now a member of the Su family. I've promised Abigail to him. From today onward, anyone showing the slightest intent to insult him will be immediately expelled from Su Family!"
As soon as Peter finished speaking, the surrounding crowd erupted into whispers and hushed conversations.
This old man must be losing his mind. He didn't know what spell Fernando cast on him, making him agree to let Abigail marry a fallen dog.
Owen's face turned grim. He had long coveted the position of the Su Family's head, and Fernando's arrival would bring disaster to the Su Family. The legacy he had carefully built over the years was about to be destroyed. This couldn't happen. Not.
Owen calculated swiftly and soon came up with a plan. He discreetly took out his phone and walked to a secluded spot, dialing a number.
"Take him down!" Peter's abrupt command left everyone stunned.
The Su family's bodyguards were confused, not knowing whom Peter was referring to.
The cane pointed to a spot, indicating Owen.
The bodyguards exchanged glances, hesitant to act rashly.
"What? Didn't you hear me? Take him down!" Peter reiterated.
This time, the bodyguards didn't hesitate. They quickly approached and grabbed Owen.
"Damn, why are you arresting me? Are you all tired of living? Who gave you the courage?" Owen struggled incessantly. In Su Family, no one dared to disrespect him.
The bodyguards showed no mercy. If it was an order from Old Master Su, it was the highest command in the Su Family.
"Uncle, what do you mean by this?" Owen was brought in front of Peter, looking innocent.
"Smack!"
To everyone's surprise, Peter raised his right hand and delivered a resounding slap across Owen's face.
"Unc...Uncle?" Owen's face instantly felt a burning sensation.
Peter snatched Owen's phone from his hand and glanced at it, confirming his suspicions.
"Are you planning to inform Gu Family?" Peter's face was filled with anger.
Owen didn't answer, wearing an expression of disbelief. "Uncle, you hit me for this fallen dog?"
"That's right. I called Gu Family to hand him over. This way, we might gain the Gu Family's forgiveness and reduce the pressure on the Su Family."
"Smack!"
Another heavy slap.
"I'm still alive, and I haven't passed the torch to you yet," Peter said, trembling with anger. He felt increasingly disappointed that the men of Su Family showed no sense of responsibility.
Bloodstains marked Owen's face, and he clenched his teeth, his expression extremely dark. However, he dared not confront Peter again.
The surroundings fell into an eerie silence. For the first time in many years, they witnessed Old Master Su's intense anger.
"Nando, come with me into the house. From now on, you'll stay here; this is your home!" Peter deliberately emphasized the last four words for the rest of the Su family to hear.
Fernando smiled lightly and followed Peter into the mansion. He didn't want to stay here, but for the sake of Peter's feelings, he could stay for a couple of days.
Victor followed closely behind, deliberately giving Owen a strong push as he passed by.
Seemingly light, Owen stumbled and fell to the ground.
"You're looking for death..."
Swish!
Before Owen could finish his sentence, Victor drew his dagger, placing it inches from Owen's nose.
"Victor," Fernando didn't turn his head, giving a light command, "It's enough of a lesson."
"Yes."
Victor sheathed the dagger, and with a swift movement, he stepped out forcefully.
"Puff!"
Owen's chest instantly caved in, with at least seven or eight ribs fracturing. He flew backward like a kite with a broken string, spraying a mist of blood into the air. He crashed heavily into the wall, gasping for breath. It seemed he wouldn't be able to get out of bed for at least a year or more.
The Su family members were all stunned on the spot. Was this still considered "enough of a lesson"? The force used was excessively harsh.
Little did these Su family members know, that if Brian, the Nation's Defender of the Western Territory, were present, he would have erupted in fury, tearing Owen into pieces, allowing no insult to the Palace Master.
Peter sighed helplessly. He understood very well that this was already an exceptionally restrained action. If not for the thin face he had to maintain, Owen would not have survived.
"Since you're so eager to inform Gu Family," Fernando stopped and looked at Owen, "make the call to Gu Family."
"Nando!" Peter exclaimed, vaguely guessing Fernando's intentions.
"For seven years, Gu Family should have repaid this blood debt." Fernando's gaze was profound as he looked up at the sky.
If the border hadn't been in constant turmoil these years, he would have returned much sooner, and Gu Family wouldn't have survived for seven years.
Peter hesitated, knowing that this day would come sooner or later.
"Young man, this... this is courting your death!" Owen struggled a few times to sit up, but the stabbing pain in his chest rendered him completely immobile, with blood still flowing from the corners of his mouth.
"Uncle, you heard it. He requested to call Gu Family himself. Don't blame me for this." Finished speaking, without any hesitation, Owen took out his phone and dialed the number.
Owen calculated in his mind. Perhaps with this opportunity, the Gu Family could swallow up the Su Family, and he could rightfully become the head. Even if he worked for the Gu Family in the future, it would be better than being oppressed everywhere and remaining the second in command.
