chapter 3 The Wolf Who Beats the Bus

by Arthur 18:13,Nov 02,2023
After arriving at the bus station, Cyneburg Wu transferred the money to his own account, including the 200,000 dollars from Keitaro Li, 300,000 dollars from Fariat Chu, and over 500,000 dollars he had saved from treating people in prison. In total, he now possessed a million dollars in assets.
He bought a bus ticket and sat down, closing his eyes to meditate and cultivate his Qi.
He was practicing the "Profound Yellow Scripture of Heaven and Earth," a martial arts technique divided into four realms: Heaven, Earth, Profound, and Yellow. Within the Yellow realm, there were three stages: Qi Cultivation, Spirit Refining, and Initiation. Currently, he was in the Mid-stage Qi Cultivation.
The circulation of Qi within his body brought him physical comfort and mental clarity, freeing him from thoughts and worries.
Suddenly, he smelled a faint fragrance and opened his eyes. A stunningly beautiful woman, around twenty years old, stood beside him. She wore headphones, with beautiful brows and a delicate nose, exuding an air of celestial beauty.
Especially notable were her legs – long, white, straight, and well-toned. He even thought that her legs alone were enough to captivate him.
She wore white shoes, revealing her perfect ankles. With her height of 1.7 meters, she was wearing light red denim shorts and a cool white crop top, revealing her beautiful navel and a portion of her smooth, flat abdomen.
Her chest was ample, and with the bus's movements, it quivered, making Cyneburg momentarily thirsty.
Having not been with a woman for two years in prison, he found every woman attractive, especially someone as exquisite as her.
He activated his Eye of Dimensions, and for a moment, saw through her clothes, revealing a stunning figure.
He quickly averted his gaze to avoid a nosebleed.
Just as he looked away, he couldn’t resist sneaking another glance. At that moment, the woman suddenly clung to his arm and softly said, "Honey, I'm thirsty. Do you have water?"
Cyneburg was stunned. "Honey?" But then he realized that the bus was crowded, and four young men were standing near her, eyeing her with predatory looks.
Could it be... these guys are hooligans?
He smiled slightly and handed her a bottle of water, saying, "Here you go."
The four men looked annoyed, wondering how suddenly a "husband" had appeared.
The leader, with narrow eyes, asked Cyneburg, "Buddy, your girlfriend is pretty. What's her name?"
Cyneburg glanced at him and replied, "Is it any of your business?"
The man sneered, "I advise you to mind your own business and get off the bus, or else..."
Cyneburg smirked, "Sure, I'm getting off soon."
The woman felt a sinking feeling in her heart, thinking men were unreliable.
The young men were pleased, thinking once Cyneburg left, they could proceed with their plan. They carried drugs and were sure they could take the woman off the bus to have their way with her.
Suddenly, the driver announced, "Little Stone Village, anyone getting off?"
Cyneburg immediately said, "Stop here."
The driver hit the brakes, stopping at a deserted and uninhabited crossroads.
He grabbed the woman's hand, smiling, "Honey, we're here. Let's get off."
The woman hesitated for a moment, then obediently followed Cyneburg off the bus. The four young men were momentarily stunned, but then gritted their teeth and followed suit.
As the bus door closed, the vehicle continued on its way.
The leader sneered, "I told you not to meddle. Now you're going to learn your lesson." He pulled out a dagger and advanced towards Cyneburg.
Cyneburg calmly looked at the dagger and warned, "I advise you to leave now. If we fight, I won't hold back, and you might get hurt."
The young man paused for a moment, then burst into laughter, "Damn! Tough talk, but I wonder if your fists are just as tough!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the four men lunged at him.
They attacked, but Cyneburg didn't retreat. He moved swiftly, sending two flying with a single move. He then broke the foot bone of one and the rib of another with precise strikes.
Screams of agony filled the air, and the attackers lay on the ground, sweating and writhing in pain.
Cyneburg, unscathed, dusted off his hands, "I warned you, but you didn't listen. Call an ambulance for yourselves. I've inflicted injuries that will cause pain for three years, but don't worry, you'll recover in about five years."
He then turned to the woman and smiled, "Where are you heading?"
Still in shock, she managed to say, "Thank you!"
Cyneburg replied, "You're welcome."
She hesitated, then asked, "Where are you going? Can I come with you?"
Cyneburg was taken aback, "Take you with me?"
Before he could refuse, the woman quickly said, "I'm really scared right now, I don't dare to go home alone."
Cyneburg thought it made sense; after such an incident, any girl would be frightened. He nodded, "Alright then, you can come with me to the county town first, and then we can consider the next step, okay?"
The woman nodded vigorously, "My name is Arlet Tang, what's yours?"
"Cyneburg Wu," he replied, "If we walk one kilometer down this road, we'll reach Huancheng Road, and we can hail a taxi there."
Arlet nodded. She walked alongside Cyneburg, shoulder to shoulder.
It took them about fifteen minutes to walk the kilometer, and just as Cyneburg had said, it was a wide Huancheng Road.
After waiting a few minutes, they got into a taxi heading to the city.
The county town, named Mingyang County, had a population of over one million and ranked well economically. Cyneburg's home was located on the eastern outskirts of Mingyang County, at the junction of the city and the countryside.
Once in the taxi, Cyneburg first called his younger sister, Andi Wu, a sixteen-year-old high school sophomore, intelligent, beautiful, and hardworking.
He felt guilty about the hardships she had endured during his imprisonment. Fortunately, he had privileges in prison, allowing daily calls and financial support for her.
He called, but no one answered, making Cyneburg Wu somewhat worried. He tried calling again, three times in a row, but still no response.
A sense of dread settled in Cyneburg's heart. Could something have happened? He then called his mother, and this time the call was quickly answered.
"Cyneburg," a middle-aged woman's gentle voice came through the receiver.
Cyneburg hurriedly asked, "Mom, where's Andi?"
"Andi came to the hospital this morning and just went out to buy some food for me," his mother answered.
"Didn't she take her phone?" Cyneburg asked, slightly relieved.
"She did. Why, can't you get through to her?" his mother's voice betrayed a hint of concern.
Not wanting to worry her, Cyneburg said, "It's okay, I'll try calling her again."
After hanging up, Cyneburg's mind raced. Andi had set a special ringtone for his calls, so she would definitely answer when she heard it. The fact that she hadn't answered after three attempts meant either she had set her phone to silent, or she couldn't answer at all!
