chapter 7 Pretend to be boyfriend

Maximilian, upon realizing that the person he had bumped into was none other than Ora, couldn't help but laugh, "What, was hitting me with a car yesterday not satisfying enough that you've resorted to hitting me with your body?"
As he spoke, he thought to himself that being hit by a person was much more comfortable than being hit by a car. It was soft, with a certain elasticity.
Maximilian took a moment to appreciate Ora's curvaceous figure. She seemed slim, but she was well-endowed where it mattered.
Especially her chest, it was astonishingly large. The buttons on her blouse seemed ready to burst. He wondered if the softness he had felt earlier had come from there.
Ora, who didn't expect to run into Maximilian here, was slightly taken aback. She said, "Stop talking, I need your help urgently."
Maximilian was a bit surprised, "Help with what? Do you need to borrow money?"
"Not money, I need to borrow you. Can you pretend to be my boyfriend for a while?"
"Pretend to be your boyfriend?" Maximilian understood immediately, "Is that guy chasing after you?"
Ora nodded, "His name is Hyperion Clinton. He's been chasing me around recently and it's really annoying."
Maximilian laughed, "Why don't you just accept him? Although he's not as handsome as me, he's not bad."
Ora glared at him, "I'm being serious here, will you help or not?"
"No, I have a girlfriend."
"You..."
Ora was so angry that her chest heaved violently. Usually, she couldn't get rid of the men chasing after her, but this guy acted as if pretending to be her boyfriend was a huge loss.
Then an idea popped into her head, "So you won't help, huh? I just came back from the traffic police station. I've seen the surveillance video from yesterday. The accident wasn't my fault, it was you who staged it..."
"Alright, I'll help. I wouldn't help others, but I'll definitely help you. Pretending to be your boyfriend isn't a big deal."
Maximilian agreed immediately. He did feel somewhat guilty for causing damage to her car yesterday.
A smug look appeared on Ora's face, "Later, you'll help me get rid of this fly, and I won't pursue the issue of you staging the accident."
Maximilian replied, "No problem, leave it to me."
While they were talking, Hyperion noticed them and approached quickly with a bouquet of Blue Enchantress Roses in his hands.
The onlookers noticed the arrival of the main character and quickly stepped aside to make way.
"Ora, you're here!" Hyperion approached Ora, holding out the roses in a gentlemanly manner, "These flowers are for you, I hope they bring you happiness every day."
"My mood was fine, until I saw you."
Ora didn't even glance at the bouquet of Blue Enchantress Roses and said bluntly, "Hyperion, how many times do I have to tell you, there's no chance between us. Besides, I already have a boyfriend."
Hyperion responded, "Ora, stop lying to me. I know your situation better than anyone, you don't have a boyfriend."
"I knew you wouldn't believe me, so I brought him here today." Ora grabbed Maximilian's arm and said affectionately, "This is my boyfriend, Maximilian."
Hyperion was stunned for a moment. He took a closer look at Maximilian and then let out a contemptuous snort.
"Ora, even if you wanted to find someone to pretend to be your boyfriend, you should at least find someone of a higher caliber. Do you think I would believe that this guy is your boyfriend?"
Seeing that he was being looked down upon, Maximilian said, "What, you look down on me?"
"Do I even need to say it? If you want to be respected, you should have something worthy of respect."
Hyperion looked at him with a mocking smile, "Tell me, do you have an eight-figure balance in your bank account?"
"No!"
Maximilian shook his head.
"Do you have an annual salary of a million?"
Maximilian said, "I haven't graduated yet."
Hyperion's smirk grew wider. How could a poor student compare to himself, the heir of the Clinton family?
With an arrogant expression, he said, "Let me tell you, our Clinton family is a billion-dollar enterprise, and I am the sole heir. I'm currently serving as the vice president of the group. What do you have to compare with me?"
"Yeah, there's really no comparison. How can a poor guy compete with the young master of the Clinton family?"
"The gap is too big. If it were me, I would choose Mr. Clinton..."
"But this guy does look handsome..."
"It's not about being a pretty boy, what's the use of just being handsome? A man's worth is measured by his ability..."
Hearing the surrounding discussions, Ora felt a bit disheartened. She had only grabbed the first person she saw to act as a shield, forgetting about the huge gap between Maximilian and Hyperion.
"See that? That's the new car I bought for Ora. It's worth over three million. I don't mean to belittle you, but I doubt you'll ever make that much money in your lifetime."
Hyperion was very satisfied with the effect he had created. He pointed at the roses in his hand and said, "These are Blue Enchantress Roses, air-shipped from Europe. Each one costs 500 dollars, which is worth more than your entire outfit.
You're just a poor guy, you have no right to pursue Ora, let alone compete with me."
At this moment, everyone around was looking at Maximilian with complex expressions. Some were mocking, some sympathetic, and some pitiful. No one believed that a poor boy could compete with a rich young master.
However, Maximilian's expression didn't change. He said calmly, "So you're saying that only rich people have the right to pursue Ora? Or are you implying that Ora is a gold-digger in your eyes?"
"I...I... I didn't mean that..."
Hyperion became immediately nervous. His pursuit of Ora was partly due to her beauty, and partly because he wanted to climb the social ladder of the Lacie family.
In other words, Ora was the daughter of the Lacie family, how could she be interested in his small fortune?
To prevent causing any dissatisfaction in Ora, he quickly explained, "Ora, please don't misunderstand me, I didn't mean that."
Ora looked at Maximilian with interest. His performance was beyond her expectations. He had managed to belittle Hyperion's so-called advantages in just a few sentences.
Seeing that Ora didn't respond, Hyperion became even more nervous. He said again, "Ora, don't listen to his nonsense. I'm sincere about you.
I was scared to death when I heard about your accident yesterday, but I'm glad you're okay.
I heard your car was severely damaged, so I immediately bought you a new one. Money is not the issue here, what's important is my sincerity towards you."
"I'm so touched, if someone treated me this way, I would marry him without hesitation..."
"Mr. Clinton is so generous, spending three million just like that. I would definitely say yes..."
"He's wealthy and devoted, it's hard to find such a good man these days..."
Hearing the discussions around him, Hyperion breathed a sigh of relief and stealthily gestured to his undercover agents in the crowd.
Someone in the crowd immediately shouted, "Say yes! Get together...get together..."
Under the influence of this atmosphere, some of the onlookers also began to chant along.
