Upon seeing Jackson, Violet's heart was filled with rejection.
She felt as if she had been stuck with an annoying glue that she couldn't remove no matter how hard she tried.
"Dad, who is he?" Violet pointed at Jackson and asked with displeasure on her face.
"Violet, be nice. Mr. Jackson is a distinguished guest I invited to ensure your safety, and to pretend to be your boyfriend," Apollo said, feigning anger.
"I disagree!" Violet immediately became unhappy. This man, who only thought about hooking up, was now suddenly her boyfriend. She felt like her entire worldview had been turned upside down.
"Violet, you know the current situation of the Griffith Group is not that great, plagued with internal and external troubles. If we don't act now, the Griffith Group will eventually be devoured. Can you bear to see the business your father built with his own hands destroyed?" Apollo said gravely.
"I know that! But what does that have to do with him being my boyfriend?" Violet retorted angrily.
"Mr. Jackson's task is not only to protect you but also to help the company eliminate hidden dangers. He will serve as the deputy manager and become your right-hand man. Besides..." Apollo explained.
"Besides, I don't like women with big breasts but no brains like you," Jackson added sarcastically.
"What did you say!?" Violet exploded, raising her voice by several octaves.
"I said you have big breasts but no brains, acting as if I'm interested in taking advantage of you. Do you think I, being so handsome, would want to take advantage of you? Don't end up trying to take advantage of me," Jackson replied disdainfully.
Violet felt her brain couldn't keep up. This shameless man actually said he was handsome and thought she might want to take advantage of him?
"Dad, I don't care, I will never agree to this!" Violet said and turned to leave.
"Wait!"
Jackson narrowed his eyes, then reached out his hand forward, directly touching Violet's 34D cleavage, and pinched something out.
The feeling was great!
Jackson lingered on the thought, but now wasn't the time to focus on that. His gaze rested on the object he was pinching between his fingers.
Violet was caught off guard by the sudden touch on her chest. Her proud peaks trembled, and she was momentarily stunned, then furiously said, "Dad! Look at who you've hired! This filthy rogue! He, he actually..."
Apollo remained silent, just quietly watching Jackson. He believed that this man, nicknamed "God of Wind," would not disappoint him.
Ranked first on the bounty list and first on the solo killer list. The only one infected with the S virus, yet alive for three years.
God of Wind, who suddenly emerged three years ago like a comet, had many legends about him. What was even more fascinating was his record of never failing a mission.
Apollo spent a large sum of money, and with the Griffith Group working on a cure for the S virus, he managed to invite this deity.
Indeed, Jackson didn't disappoint Apollo. He opened his palm, revealing an object. "Look, what is this?" Jackson asked calmly.
"Is this... a bug?!"
Violet was still a bit dazed, but Apollo, who had been in business for a long time, changed his expression drastically, knowing what this meant.
Jackson nodded, then walked to the window and casually threw the bug out.
"How is that possible?!" Violet also reacted at this moment, her pretty face instantly turned pale. She was completely unaware, and the bug was hidden in such a private place. If it wasn't for Jackson, she would never have discovered it.
"People always say you're a beauty without brains, unable to think properly." Jackson rolled his eyes, then squatted down and opened his earthy-yellow bag.
Violet was immediately choked with anger, about to argue, when she saw Jackson take out many metal objects from the bag, small and exquisite, obviously only something a professional could handle.
"What are these?" Violet asked curiously.
Then she shut up because she saw that Jackson's bag also contained disassembled gun parts, the only thing she recognized.
"How did you bring all these things onto the plane?" Violet asked, puzzled. Any dangerous items wouldn't pass airport security, let alone a handgun. If discovered, the person would be directly taken to the police station.
Hearing this, Jackson couldn't help but chuckle. These were the tools of his trade, of course, he'd bring them along. As for airport security, to him, it was as good as non-existent.
"Shush!"
Seeing Violet still curious and wanting to ask questions, Jackson quickly gestured for her to be silent.
Activating a counter-surveillance device, Jackson made a round in the office. In the end, he had ten bugs in his hand.
Crack!
Jackson mercilessly crushed them all into pieces.
Sizzle!
In another building not far away, a man equipped with professional eavesdropping equipment quickly took off his headphones, his face changing color, "Damn! We are discovered, the other party is definitely a trained professional!"
Seeing so many bugs, Apollo was furious, his face turned livid with anger. This was his office, yet it was under constant surveillance. No wonder the company's trade secrets were being stolen recently. The problem lies here!
"Bookshelves, desks, tea tables, sofas, potted plants, computers... Those who can enter and exit the Chairman's office regularly and can access these places, who could it be?" Jackson reminded.
"The janitors!" Violet exclaimed.
"Right, seems you do have some brains." Jackson gave a backhanded compliment.
Violet was not pleased with this so-called compliment.
"Looking at the current situation, the crisis in your company is indeed not small," Jackson said. Even the Chairman's office had bugs installed, and no one noticed. This showed that the crisis at Griffith Group was not just superficial but had penetrated internally.
"Violet, you've seen Mr. Jackson's capabilities. You shouldn't object to him protecting your safety, right?" After dealing with the bugs, Apollo said with a serious face.
Violet opened her mouth, still thinking of refusing, but given Jackson's demonstrated abilities, her father would surely not comply with her wishes.
This jerk, although he is lecherous, he does have some skills. Violet thought to herself.
"Mr. Jackson, from now on, the safety of Violet and the company is in your hands," Apollo said formally.
"I came here for that. At least until the antidote for the S virus is developed, whoever thinks about targeting Griffith Group will have to go through me first!" Jackson's tone was undeniably confident.
"With your word, I feel relieved," Apollo said, feeling relieved.
"Uncle Apollo, considering the situation of Griffith Group, we need to find the root of the problem from the bottom. I would like to work in the business department for a while," Jackson suggested.
Apollo nodded, agreeing with this view, and immediately called the HR department, quickly arranging a corresponding position for Jackson.
Business department?
Violet's eyes suddenly lit up. She couldn't refuse her father's arrangement, but she could make things difficult for Jackson!
"Is that Manager Waylon from the business department? It's like this, there will be an employee named Jackson coming to work in the business department, don't be polite to him... 150,000 dollars? That's too low a performance. 450,000 dollars, no, 750,000 dollars!"
Hanging up the phone, Violet revealed a victorious smile. You lecherous wolf, it's not so easy to be my boyfriend!
