Chapter 10 Where Were You When I Needed You

Mengmeng Zhou's fanning the flames successfully infuriated Ruolan Zhou. She glanced at Marylin Ye and commanded, "Drop your food box and leave now."

Hearing the words, Marylin put down the food box full of beef porridge on the table, and bid farewell to dignified Ruolan, and then determinedly left Shen's house.

After Marylin left, Ruolan took a look at the food box left by Marylin with disgust, and told Nanny Liu: "Throw it away!"

Nanny Liu hesitated for a moment and tried to persuade Ruolan, "Madam, you know the temper of the young master. When he comes back, if he can’t see Miss Ye or even her food box, he will lose his temper."

Hearing this, Ruolan agreed with Nanny Liu’s reasonable thoughts and nodded, "Then keep it." She turned to all the servants present, "When the young master comes back, do you know what to say?"

Nanny Liu took the lead in responding: "Don't worry, madam, when the young master comes back, I will tell him that Miss Ye just brought the porridge over, but she couldn’t wait for him to come back and left by herself!"

Ruolan nodded in satisfaction, but the melancholy between her brows still couldn't dissipate.

For her own son, Ruolan, as his mother, had no control at all. Sometimes she was even afraid of making her son unhappy.

When Jamie Shen rebelled, even Ruolan was frightened.

Four years ago, he was willing to offend the whole world for Marylin’s sake, he even ran away from home and quarrelled with his father. If Ruolan had not been mediating between the two of them, and Jamie himself was so capable that the real estate company the old master founded had been rising for stock prices, the old master might still be mad at Jamie and refuse to forgive him.

In the beginning, Jamie wanted nothing from Marylin. He said that he had no feelings for her, and he saved her only to avenge for the death of her sister Purple Ye. Even if everyone in the world believed it, Ruolan didn't believe it.

Jamie Shen loved Marylin Ye, deeply, so deeply that he didn’t even know that it was love.

Perhaps, love never needs a reason.

Just like young Ruolan, when she saw Jamie's father at first glance, she completely fell in love. Even though Jamie's father had a wife and children at that time, she was willing to fly into his arms like a moth to the fire.

The old master often said to Ruolan that a woman’s beauty was a disaster.

Marylin was undoubtedly Jamie's disaster!

Ruolan was really afraid of this woman named Marylin. She looked humble and innocent, nothing related to the daughter of a prostitute, and she had the ability to make her son fascinated.

Ruolan sighed and said to Mengmeng: "It is my Mengmeng who knows me most, such a sensible good girl!"

Mengmeng smiled triumphantly, and she helped Ruolan upstairs. Halfway down the stairs, she turned her head and glanced at the obnoxious food box still on the table, and then glared at Nanny Liu. Her vicious look seemed to say, "Mind your own business!"

Receiving Mengmeng's malicious look, Nanny Liu sighed worriedly.

Jamie drove back to the Shen’s house immediately after dinner. He drank a little wine and drove the car himself at night regardless of his assistant's advice.

When he arrived home, he was in a good mood. He didn't know if it was because of drinking. Several times he seemed to have seen the funny ball hair on the back of Marylin's head sweeping before his eyes.

As he drove, he was thinking, when he comes back to see her, he must make a good joke of her, that the hairstyle on the back of her head was like an old woman.

He parked the car, and the first thing he said after entering the door was to Nanny Liu, "Where is Marylin?"

Jamie knew that Marylin must be waiting for him quietly in his room, as usual, so he didn't wait for Liu's response, walked upstairs after changing his shoes. Unexpectedly, just when he raised his foot and walked up the stairs, Nanny Liu's voice came from behind:

"Young master, Miss Ye was here, but it was too late, so she left already."

Jamie paused the steps going upstairs. With eyebrows twisting, he looked back at Nanny Liu, "Marylin is gone?"

Nanny Liu took the food box that Marylin had brought and handed it to Jamie, "Young master, this is the beef porridge that Miss Ye brought for you. Please have it while it is still hot."

"When did she leave?" Jamie took the heavy food box, but he was unhappy, apparently.

Nanny Liu honestly confessed: "Just now, not long before you came home." For fear of the young master being angry with Miss Ye, Nanny Liu spoke for Marylin, "Young master, the weather is cold recently and the time is a little late. It would be unsafe for Miss Ye to go back too late."

Jamie said annoyed: "She can't wait until ten o'clock?" Jamie wanted to say, she used to wait for me until three o'clock in the morning!

But the words were not put out after all.

Jamie felt deeply upset in his heart and didn't want to talk to anyone, holding the food box, turned, and went upstairs.

Back to his room, Jamie kicked off the shoes, put the food box down hard, and folded his long legs on the table. He pulled his tie irritably and smoked a few cigarettes. Not only did he not get better, on the contrary, he felt waves of loss and frustration raised from his heart.

He stretched out his hand to open Marylin's warm food box. It tasted delicious and fragrant, which he liked most.

For some reason, he hadn't eaten anything all night and he still had no desire to eat now.

After sitting still for a while, he dialed Marylin's number. He wanted to hear her voice saying why she had left early. If she couldn't give him a proper reason, he would kill her!

The phone only seemed to ring for one second, and Marylin answered it. Her trembling voice came from the other side of the phone, "Hello, Mr. Shen..."

Marylin had long known that he would call and question her, so as soon as she returned to the rental house, she sat quietly in front of her cell phone.

Upon hearing his desired woman’s soft voice, he snorted and asked angrily: "It's only ten o'clock, couldn’t you wait for me to come back? Who is waiting for you at your place?"

Marylin denied right away: "No, there is no..."

Jamie ignored her answer and said, "It’s Cheng Lu, right? He is waiting for you? Ah?!"

He spat out the last word heavily,as if she would die miserably if she didn't tell the truth.

Marylin shuddered and explained nervously, "No..."

"Is it true or not?" Regardless of her explanation, Jamie continued in a sinister tone, "You and him, what was his name again? Cheng Lu, right, you said goodnight to each other!"

Marylin anxiously explained, "Mr. Shen, Cheng Lu is just my old classmate."

"Old classmate, you sound really affectionate when you call him by name. Why have I never heard you call my name like that?"

Marylin stammered, "Mr. Shen, I didn't show any affection..."

It was better if she didn’t deny it. Hearing her words, Jamie got angrier, "Marylin Ye, it seems that I didn't give you an educational lesson last time. Are you really going to force me to send him the video? Did he know that you are a woman who has been licked all over by me?"
