Chapter 24 Who Is Your Priority, Fiance Or Sex Partner?

She was Marylin Ye!

No wonder he refused to eat with her tonight, it was for this woman’s sake! She was his priority!

Xinyao Jiang looked at Jamie Shen’s tense eyes and nervous actions of dialing 120 the emergency rescue number. After doing that, he hugged Marylin tightly and put a coat over her body. He even forgot that Xinyao was still standing in his office and would peek at his business secrets at any time. He was flustered, holding the fainted Marylin and pushed open the door of the office and left the office hurriedly.

When the door of the office was closed with a bang, Xinyao suddenly returned to her senses, and hastened to speed up her steps. She ran along in the direction Jamie had just left.

She was worried about him driving like that.

Xinyao quickened her pace and finally found Jamie holding Marylin in the underground parking lot. She volunteered to say, “Let me drive. There is a private hospital of our Jiang family near here, then you can see the doctor right away.”

Jamie was helpless. Xinyao suddenly appeared at this moment and said that she could let Marylin see a doctor as soon as possible. He naturally nodded his head and took Marylin into the car behind him.

Along the way, Jamie kept patting Marylin’s face and saying, “Marylin, Marylin, wake up!”

Marylin woke up once on the way. She looked up at Jamie, but she was too weak. She closed her eyes again and slept away.

Jamie was more and more anxious and restless. He urged Xinyao: ”Drive faster!”

Xinyao also wanted to speed up, but it was rush hour after work. All the way there was a lot of traffic, so the car could only move forward slowly.

Xinyao saw Jamie holding Marylin tightly in her rear-view mirror. He was reluctant to let go of her for a single moment. He embraced her deeply in his arms. His eyes were covered with blood, and his thin lips brush the hair of her forehead.

Xinyao had never seen him in such a flustered and helpless manner. It seemed that he was going to die if he lost this woman in the next second. She led out a fretful breath.

It was just a fever. It was not life or death. Was it necessary for him to be so nervous?

Finally they arrived at the private chain hospital of the Jiang Family, several attending doctors got Xinyao’s order already and immediately came to see Marylin.

The diagnosis and treatment result was not serious, just a general fever, coupled with the body wound which was not treated in time, leading to inflammation.

As for why she fainted, the doctor said the cause was unknown. It was estimated that exercise work was excessive and blood sugar is too low, or it was caused by fear.

When the doctor said this, Jamie coughed gently and then lowered his eyebrows slightly. He remembered that he had changed his way to deal with her in the office. It seemed that he had not been so crazy for a long time. He even threatened her with golf clubs. He also sent the worst video of her to the man she cared about. What he did was too much. No wonder she was scared that she fainted in public.

But how could she let other men hold her hand behind his back? Didn’t she think about his feelings at all?

There was no one in the world that could treat him like that!

Thinking of this, Jamie felt that what he did was not too much..

When Jamie felt justice for what he did, Xinyao noticed Marylin’s bruises. Her intuitions told her that those bruises should not have been made by Jamie.

He was a moody man, but his eyes were honest. He really cared about this woman named Marylin. Even if he was angry, he couldn’t hit her. It could be seen from his nervousness all the way here. If he had done it, he would not have been so nervous about her well being.

“What instrument caused these bruises on her?” Xinyao asked an old male doctor.

The male doctor observed carefully and thought for a long time, but he was not sure:”This is like it was caused by a stick. Someone should have beaten the girl with a stick.”

“A stick?” Jamie’s eyebrows twinkled in an instant, his handsome face tightened, and his eyes became frightful and cold in an instant, “Who dared to beat her with a stick?”

“You have to ask this girl. I’m going to put some anti-inflammatory plaster on the girl now, and I’ll ask the nurse to give her some medicine to reduce the swelling.”

After the doctor left, Jamie clenched his fist and glanced out of the window of the ward into the night sky. He did not know what he was thinking.

Xinyao walked behind him and asked softly, “What are you thinking now?”

Jamie did not look back, his eyes were still staring out of the window, ”Noting, I just want to know who hit her.”

Xinyao signed and asked, ”Did she offend anyone?”

Jamie pondered for a moment and said, “She is very gentle in character. I have never seen her form any feud with anyone.”

“Do you know her that well?” Xinyao raised eyebrows.

Jamie’s body was stunned for a long time, but there was still no response.

Xinyao said with a smile:” I mean, there is nothing to do with being docile for having an enemy. Sometimes people are too nice so they get bullied.”

Jamie nodded, and looked backed at her, with a bitter expression.

Xinyao felt sour. It seemed that he really cared about Marylin. She was only hurt a little, yet he was so worried that he couldn’t laugh.

Xinyao remembered that when she was studying abroad, Jamie and a group of friends went climbing the mountain. At that time, her hand was injured in the middle of the way and kept bleeding. Jamie quickly helped her stop the bleeding, and then he laughed at her for being stupid. She was in pain and wanted to cry, but he kept laughing.

But now Marylin didn’t feel any pain at all, but he was so nervous that he could not even smile.

Was this the essential difference between love and friendship?

Loving a person, even she is hurt a little, he will have a heartache and can’t breath. If not loving a person, even if she is bleeding, he can still smile.

Xinyao felt dejected. The nurse suddenly appeared at the door of the ward and knocked on the door. “Miss Jiang, and Mr., I need to wipe the medicine for the patient and take off her clothes. Please avoid it.”

Xinyao gave a cry. Subconsciously, she reached for her bag. She wanted to leave the ward. She turned to see Jamie, but found that he was still standing in the same place.

The nurse took the medicine and went to the front of Marylin’s bed. She put down the medicine plate. Seeing Jamie had no intention to leave, she said with a polite smile, “Please wait outside sir.”

Jamie stool still, staring straight at Marylin, as if he had not heard the nurse’s words. He thought that the nurse’s words were to Xinyao. He turned to Xinyao, who had not left yet, “Xinyao, you can wait for me outside.”
