Chapter 12 Ex Became My Boss

by G Point 15:24,Sep 18,2020
Later, Rosemary Johnson sent off the kid with an excuse and went out quietly with a bag. When driving to the company, she had called Julia to babysit the little devil whey she was away.

...

This was the first meeting that Rosemary attended on the second day of work. She was mainly responsible for hosting and recording the meeting.

At 9:30, Charles Hockley in a black suit led many senior executives into the meeting room.

His indifferent expression made Rosemary trembled, and the documents in her hands almost fell off.

She looked sideways embarrassingly and forced herself to calm down.

Rosemary, just treated him as your boss. Don’t think too much!

Perhaps it was because of the fever. After a while, Rosemary, who was taking the minutes of the meeting, became more and more drowsy. Sweat came out from her back continuously, and her delicate little face became pale.

Suddenly, Charles's formulaic voice came into her ears: "Secretary Johnson, what’s your suggestion?"

Rosemary's hands on the keyboard shook suddenly.

She wanted to look up the meeting minutes from the document and find out the key points to answer Charles. But she found that the document was full of messy words. It was obvious that she hadn't even made the meeting minutes well just now.

"Secretary Johnson, good for you! Drift off during a meeting on the first day of your work here!"

Seeing Rosemary in silence, Charles's thin lips curled up, he tapped his fingers on the table, and said dispassionately: "Get out and let Linda in."

Obviously, he was very dissatisfied with her.

Rosemary clenched her fist, pinched her fingernail in her palm, and admitted her mistake to Charles.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Hockley. Please repeat it again. After the meeting, I will conduct a deep self-reflection."

Charles said word by word with his indifferent eyes: "I don't need any excuses. Get out!"

"...Okay." Rosemary bit her lip, got up, and left the meeting room.

Less than half an hour after the meeting ended, all employees of the company knew that the new secretary was driven out by the president because of a trance during the meeting.

Many people gloated secretly and commented that she deserve it.

Linda brought the prepared meeting minutes to Rosemary, and a box of medicine by the way.

"Secretary Johnson, you might have a fever. Take the medicine and go to rest. There are not many things left. I can do it for you."

"Linda, thank you, but it doesn’t matter." Rosemary smiled slightly and declined Linda's kindness.

If she took a leave on the first day here because of her physical discomfort, other people in the company must think that she was so incapable and she didn't know how they would talk about her behind in the future.

"Well, take care of yourself." Linda comforted her and left.

Charles emailed her two contracts, asking her to deal with them before next Wednesday.

Due to this matter, Rosemary worked nervously all afternoon. Fortunately, after taking the medicine, her head was not so dizzy.

When she was about to get off work, the reception called on the inside line: "Secretary Johnson, there is a little boy waiting for you in the lobby."

Little boy?

Could it be that his little guy came to look for her?

Sure enough, after Rosemary took the elevator down to the first floor, the puffy pumpkin who had been waiting in the lobby for a long while jumped off the sofa and ran towards her with a bright smile.

"Mom, I miss you so much!"

"I miss you too, pumpkin!" Seeing Ryan, Rosemary felt all tiredness disappeared.

"Did aunt Julia bring you here? Where is her?"

"Aunt Julia had something urgent to do, and she let me wait for mommy here."

"Mom, I want to have a cup of popped-egg milk tea!"

Fearing that Rosemary would ask too many questions about how he got here, Ryan quickly changed the subject, and took her hand: "Let's go, let's drive there!"

The energetic little guy let Rosemary raise a trace of helplessness in her corner of lips.
