GABE

My hand is trembling as I put my phone down on the dock, staring outside the window. It was mid-afternoon now but the sun has hidden beneath the clouds as they chased each other, leaving the whole city in the gloom. I look down on my wrist and sigh - about an hour has passed now. What is taking them so long?

I take the papers from the back seat and review them, trying to distract myself out of the misery of waiting. It was my weakness - being patient about things....
