"We are going to stay back in our house," I stated, clenching my jaw as I grip the steering wheel.

"Nope." Elle argues from the passenger seat, glaring at me, "My son and I will not go back to that blasted mansion." She huffed, crossing her arms over her chest. I stop the urge to look at them, focusing my gaze back at the hospital driveway, as I ask in a resigned voice, "Where to, then?"

She smiled at me and pointed, nodding in appreciation. I raised an eyebrow...
