Chapter 2 Matriarch Su's Birthday Party

by Jue Ren 16:53,Dec 10,2020
"Bullshit! Grandma doesn't drink tea these two years. How could I hurt her?" Owen Su said in fear. He was in a hurry to explain, which made people feel something wrong with him.

"Oh, I see." Sean Han nodded and said as if he had suddenly understood, "It turns out that you know grandma doesn't drink tea, so you deceived her with a fake one. Then, you can get eight hundred and eighty thousand dollars, right?"

Owen's eyes were erratic, and he looked guilty because what Sean said was right. He wanted to earn face for his family. He thought his grandmother didn't drink tea now, so he believed that it was impossible for her to find out.

He didn't expect that his lie would be exposed by Sean.

"What you said has no proof. Do you know tea?" Owen pretended to be calm.

The relatives who were suspicious of Owen just now realized that they were almost fooled by Sean.

He was a loser. How could he know these high-end products?

"Sean Han, shut up if you don't understand. Don't slander Owen."

"Yes, look at yourself. Don't pretend to be a professional. Can you tell me what's good and what's bad?"

"You can only tell the difference between salt and MSG. After all, you are a househusband."

Another burst of laughter filled the hall, especially harsh.

Sean didn't defend himself. When he was in the Han Family, he met a professional good at in tea ceremony and a tea collector. No one present could match with him.

But it was useless to explain anything to these people who knew nothing.

"What happened?" At this time, an old voice came. The Matriarch Su finally appeared.

All the relatives stood up with great respect.

Since Patriarch Su passed away, Matriarch Su had taken control of the power and made all decisions of the Su Family.

Some people hoped that the Matriarch Su would die as soon as possible so that they could have the real power. But she was in good health, so those people's wishes could not come true soon.

"Grandma, Owen has sent you Pu'er tea. Check it out." Kelly took a look at Sean. She didn't know why she believed in Sean. Perhaps in her heart, she also hoped to expose this lie.

Hearing this, Owen panicked.

The relatives could not tell whether the tea was real or not, but Matriarch Su had been drinking tea for decades, so she must be able to see it.

"Really? Let me have a look." Matriarch Su said.

Owen handed the tea to Matriarch Su as if he was on the execution ground.

Kelly wanted to fight for some credit for Sean, so she quickly said, "Sean saw through it."

An unhappy expression appeared on Matriarch's face. Owen's face turned pale, so did his parents. If he really gave an inferior-quality tea to Matriarch Su, she would be unhappy and kept it in mind, and they would probably get less property in the future.

Kelly looked at Sean and thought that he had finally done something for her family. If her grandmother praised him, she could be nicer to him in the future.

But what Matriarch Su Family said next was a disappointment to Kelly.

"It's true. Why did you slander him?" Matriarch Su looked at Sean and questioned.

Sean was stunned. There was something wrong with the tea. He knew that Matriarch Su was a person who knew tea very well. How could she not see it?

Owen was also stunned. Did he muddle through? Was it because she was too old to see clearly?

"Grandma, take a closer look at the tea. It's..."

Sean still wanted to explain, but Matriarch Su interrupted him harshly, "You mean that I'm old and my eyes are not good enough to tell whether it's true or not? I said it was true, and it was true."

"Sean, grandma said it was true. What do you want to say?"

"Mom, don't be angry. Sean Han is a person who knows nothing. He's so silly to pretend to be a professional in front of you."

"Sean, apologize to Owen."

The relatives present started to talk and kick Sean.

Sean looked at Matriarch Su with a bitter smile on his face.

Sean understood that Matriarch Su knew that the tea was an inferior product, but she did not want to expose her grandson.

She would not make her grandson lose his dignity because of him, an outsider.

Slap!

A loud slap was heard.

Kelly gritted her teeth and looked at Sean, "I shouldn't have held any hope for you."

It hurt. Due to the long fingernails of Kelly, there were several bloodstains leaving on Sean's face.

Sean suddenly clenched his fists, but when he saw the tears in Kelly's eyes, he loosened them again.

He knew that she had suffered a lot of scolding and humiliation for marrying him.

"Sorry, I was wrong." Sean apologized to Kelly.

"What's the point of apologizing to me? Apologize to Owen."Said Kelly.

Sean took a deep breath, walked up to Owen, lowered his head, and said, "I'm sorry."

Owen smiled and whispered in the ear of Sean, "Don't you think grandma can see it? But I'm her grandson, and you are just a useless son-in-law. Even if what you said is right, she will be on my side. "

The complacent tone of Owen was particularly harsh to Sean, but since Matriarch Su had said that, he had nothing to do.

This episode did not make Sean have a lower position in the Su Family because he was a loser in everyone's eyes, and his position was the lowest.

However, for Kelly, it was very difficult to accept this matter, but what she couldn't accept was not that Sean made her lose face.

When Kelly calmed down, she found that no matter the tea had a problem or not, her grandmother would not help Sean.

When it was almost lunchtime, Kelly walked up to Sean and said, "I mistake you. I owe you a slap. You can take it anytime."

"You want to give me back a slap?" Sean smiled bitterly.

"I don't want to owe you anything. You know, we'll divorce one day. It's just time."Said Kelly.

Looking at the back of Kelly, who was walking towards the dining room, Sean mustered his courage and said, "do you want me to change?only you can change me in this world. "

Kelly turned around with a sad smile.

"Don't forget who you are. You will never be put in an important position in the Su Family, not to mention that you are not smart and you're capable of nothing."

At lunchtime, the restaurant was divided into seats according to family status.

As a married son-in-law, Sean was naturally separated into the smallest table, which was the farthest from Matriarch Su. Moreover, the people who sat at the same table with Sean were all servants and cleaners of the Su Family.

While they were eating, a man ran into the dining room in a hurry.

"Matriarch Su, a gift is coming." The man said to Matriarch Su.

Matriarch Su's birthday party didn't invite any outsider, and it was the same all the years. Moreover, the Su Family was just a second-class family in the Y City, and no one would deliberately please them.

"Who is it?" Matriarch Su asked.

"The people said that they're from the Han Family. I haven't seen them before." The man said.

Han Family?

Among the people present, only Sean's surname was Han, but others thought the Han Family has nothing to do with him except for Kelly.
