Chapter 5

From now on whenever Durva is saying something it's in sign language as she can't talk. I won't mention it all the time.

Durva looked at Rudra and her smile vanished. She slowly came towards them and bid hello to Saumya.

"Durva as you know his identity, Rudraksha Randhawa my brother and he understands sign language." Saumya said

"Hi, you have a unique name Durva" Rudra said hesitatingly

"Thanks" Durva replied

"I heard many things about you from Saumya. I'm really impressed by your selflessness." Rudra said admiring her will to help children.

"It's not my selflessness. I love this kid, that's why I spend time with them." Durva replied

"Saumya can you bring some things from the car I have left it on the back seat" Rudra said

Saumya nodded and left them alone.

"Durva I'm really sorry for what I said that time. I didn't mean to hurt you or anything. I don't know why I said those things. Were you saving your puppy, Ricky?" Rudra asked her

She only nodded her head. Durva was on her way to home when Ricky was wiggling inside the bag. He fell on the road and that time Rudra was coming so she jumped in front of his car to save Ricky. After her parents, Ricky is the only one left with her. Dog or not, Durva loved him like a kid.

"You dance very well. I saw you. Will you mind showing me your paintings?" Rudra asked, trying to talk with her more. He was feeling guilty for saying those harsh words to her.

"Yes sure come with me" Durva said pointing to him to follow her. She took him to the art room that has many pictures. Just like Saumya has described, her paintings are a masterpiece. All of them are worth to be sold in lakhs.

"If you don't mind me asking why don't you sell these Paintings?" Rudra asked her.

"I paint for my hobby, not for money. What I earn is enough for me and my Ricky" Durva replied

Rudra was impressed by her answer. She was not only kind-hearted but was a great person as well. The person who can risk her life for a puppy can't be bad.

"Can we be friends? I really liked your personality and I'm really sorry for that incident." Rudra asked. Durva looked at him like he had grown two more heads.

"If you want to befriend me out of guilt or pity then please don't. I really hate it when people pity me. You're a famous singer and I don't think we should be friends or anything. Friendship should happen in between two people for their liking for each other, not any other reason." Durva said with a blank face but her eyes are telling another story. The eyes that attracted Rudra.

"I'm not doing it from pity or guilt and believe me when I say it. I really want to befriend you because of your nature and character. It's up to you if you want to be my friend or not." Rudra replied

"Ok. Then I can be your friend. Moreover, it's not like you will stay here for a lifetime" Durva said smiling

"Bhai where was you I was finding you from so long" Saumya said with a pout

"I was seeing her paintings. They are really fabulous" Rudra said

"Told ya, she’s a gem." Saumya boosted, feeling utterly proud of her judgement. Durva only shook her head in protest.

"Oh shh! Don't act modestly. We all know how talented you're." Saumya said with a look that says don't you dare deny me. After a little talk, Rudra and Saumya left the orphanage. During the journey back to the house Rudra was only thinking about Durva.

He isn't attracted to her but has respect for her. If it was any other girl she would have used her talent to get money but this girl is unique just like her name.

"bhai? Bhai? BHAI?" Saumya shouted, trying to get his attention.

"What? Why are you shouting?" Rudra asked annoyed

"I'm talking to you but you're not answering" Saumya says and rolls her eyes

"I was thinking about something. Tell me what you were saying." Rudra said

"I was asking you, did you like Durva? Isn't she so good? Despite her physical flaws, she is beautiful from inside." Saumya said

"Yes that she is. You're impressed by her very much. Can I know the reason?" Rudra asked her

"Not any particular reason but I have seen her from close for 4 years. She was different when her parents died, she was totally broken. Only these kids are her solace. I only pray one thing that may she get a lover who will love her to death. She deserves to be loved selflessly" Saumya said

Rudra can't help but agree with her. In only two hours, he felt near to her. She has a lovable aura. Days passed and Rudra daily visited the orphanage. He was bonding with Durva and the kids. Durva was attracted to him for his sweet behaviour but she knew she had to stop at a point because of his engagement to Sikha.

On the other side, Sikha was getting impatient. It has been 3 months since Rudra left for Kullu and not even once he bothered to call her or inform her about his arrival. He was doing his work from there. She wants to go to Kullu but knows Rudra won't like it. So to bring him back Sikha asks her father to prepone the wedding.

"Hello" Rudra said as he heard the following words: “You need to come back here in two weeks. After 1 month it's your wedding" Pratap said leaving no room for argument.

"What? Are you kidding me? Wasn't it 2 months later?" Rudra asked his father

"yes it was but we preponed it. No more questions about it. You're coming back and that's final." Pratap said before the line was cut.
