Chapter 5

It was Friday night.

I was sitting in my bedroom watching Netflix.

My door opened.

Alex and Joel walked in.

"Let's go" Alex said.

I raised an eyebrow.

"Come on, we're going out" Joel said.

"You guys are. I'm gonna sit here and have a Vampire Diaries marathon" I said and popped a chip into my mouth.

"Come on, Rain!" Alex said as she sat on the edge of my bed.

"Alex, I'm grounded.....remember"?

"Dad's working late shift, tonight" Joel said.

"So" I said

"Please" She begged.

"Okay" I said "Give me 5 minutes".

They nodded and walked out.

I grabbed some clothes.

I threw on a gray plain v-neck t-shirt, leather jacket, black skinny jeans, and black colored combat boots.

I ran a hand threw my brown hair.

I put my phone in my back pocket and walked downstairs.

"Come on, you're riding with us" Ryan and Jax said.

We came to a bar that had loads of cars.

My eyes widened "You did not bring me to a drag race"!?

They smirked and got out.

I unbuckled my seat belt and got out.

I followed them over to the track.

The gangs from everywhere come and have drag races every week at this bar, and it has a track in the back of it.

Expensive Racing Cars were everywhere.

People were drinking and warming up for the race.

"I can't believe you guys! You interrogate me when I go to the library, but bring me to a drag race"! I exclaimed.

"O calm down. They're fun" Jax said.

I'm by myself.

At a drag race.

With a bunch of gangs..........

And my brothers win 'Brothers of the year award' -_-

"Hey"! Someone called.

I looked up and saw Leah and Liz.

They walked up to me.

"Hey Rain" Leah smiled "What are you doing here"?

"My brothers and friend dragged me here" I said.

They nodded.

"Oh it's Rich Girl" A very familiar cocky voice said.

Ryker walked up with a drink in his hand.

"Oh" I mimicked "It's jackass".

He put a hand over his heart "Oooooo Ouch, that hurt sweetheart".

I rolled my eyes and stuck my hands in my back pockets of my jeans "Well I have to go found my brothers, before they all get drunk and I have to drive them home".

"Alright, will see you around"? Leah and Liz said.

I nodded slightly and walked away in search for my brothers.

I walked into the bar and scanned over the huge crowds of high school and college students dancing, drinking, and making out as music blasted and lights flashed.

I saw Jax and Ryan flirting with a group of girls.

My brothers are all such players.......

I walked up and said over the music "Can you stop flirting for one night"?

Ryan waved me off and I huffed and went to find Alex and Joel.

I watched as the cars sped away.

People hollered and cheered.

I will never understand drag races....

"Crusaders are gonna win" Jax said as him Ryan and Joel about the race.

"Ehhh, depends how Anderson drives tonight" Joel said.

I tensed up and bit my lip.

Alex must of noticed "You alright"?

I nodded "Ya I'm fine".

"Let's go Peter"! I heard from a distance Liz and Leah yelling.

I chuckled and rolled my eyes.

The cars eventually came in and I said "I'm going to get something to drink" then walking into the bar.

I just ordered a water since Alcohol is a touchy subject for me because of past experience...

I was walking back and walked outside and bumped inside.

I looked up to see Ryker.

He smirked "Well, well.....Didn't think you'd stick around this long".

I raised an eyebrow.

"Well you know, being a good girl and all, you have a reputation to full-fill" He said cockily.

I stared at him dumbfounded and said "I never said I was a 'good girl'."

He rolled his eyes.

"Look here Anderson. I would get this straight, and I'd get it fast. Don't judge me when you know nothing about me. And I do not have a 'reputation' to full-fill, I'm just held to a higher stander then you, because I'm not a high-school drop out".

He clenched his jaw and gritted "Shut the f*ck up, because you're a hypocrite talking about stuff you don't know about. And FYI sweetheart, I am not a high-school drop out".

"What's going on"? Craig asked as he walked up to us.

Ryker's eyes never left mine.

"I was just leaving" I said not taking my eyes away from Ryker's and his bright blue eyes went dark.

Then backing up and turning around and walking away.

And that ladies and gentlemen is how you deal with a total jackass.

"Were you just talking to Ryker Anderson"?! Alex exclaimed "The sex god"!?

I rolled my eyes and opened my water bottle then taking a sip "He's a jackass".

She said "You think every guy is an ass".

I shrugged "Because most of them are".

I saw the cars line up and saw Ryker behind the wheel of the skyline.

People cheered loudly, because........I mean Ryker is the Bad Boy of the New York.

They revived the engines and a timer counted down, the checkered patterned flags were waved and they took off.

I watched carefully as they headed towards the streets.

I smirked knowingly as I figured out River changed gears constantly to keep the speed up.

"Anderson's got this one" Jax said.

The cheers died out once they cars were no longer visible.

I had my arms crossed loosely below my chest and Leah and Liz walked back up to me.

"Any of you guys know anything about cars"? Liz asked.

Jax, Ryan, and Joel all smirked.

O God they're going to start flirting......

"No, but can we get your numbers"? Ryan tested.

I scoffed and smacked them upside the heads, then turning to Liz and Leah "I do".

They raised eyebrows shocked "Oh okay. Can you help us"?

I nodded and followed them over to their racing station.

"What up, Thompson"? Vince said and fist bumped me.

I rolled my eyes and tucked my hair behind my ears and opened the hood of the car.

"I thought it was the engine but I touched that up and nothing changed" Will said.

I nodded and scanned over and said "It's your head gasket".

"Okay" Neil said coming to stand next to me and looking at it "I see its, connected on the cylinder head".

I nodded "Ya, if you want, I can fix it".

"Yes, please because the guys will just argue with each other"! Liz said.

"Will not" Reece scoffed.

I grabbed a wrench then turning the head gasket until it popped back into place and didn't connect to the cylinder head and it started to work again.

"Thank you"! Leah cheered.

I put the wrench down and wiped my hands on my jeans.

"See we could use someone like you in the gang...." Peter hinted.

"No" I said and the cars came back in.

I saw Ryker get out and slam his door and looked straight up pissed off. He stormed off.

"It's f*cking rigged! That piece of sh*t cut me off!" He yelled clutching his fist.

"Are you f*cking serious Ryker?! We had money betting on this race"! Vince yelled.

"It's not my fault! The guy almost hit me"! Ryker yelled slamming his fist against the near by car.

Hey, I just fixed that!

"Well Liz and Leah can't race, and we all went, and we have to have more one more round! And have nobody"! Neil said rubbing his temples.

They all looked at me.

My eyes widened and I shook my head "No! No! No! NO! N.O. I am not street racing!"

Ryker said "Told you, you were a good girl".

This guy....

"I just don't feel like, uh I don't know..........DYING"! I deafened because if I crash..

"Oh we're sorry, forgot you're daddy's little princess, God forbid anything ever happens to you" Ryker said rolling his eyes.

I clutched my fist and said "Give me the f*cking keys, you jackass".

Their eyes all widened.

Ryker smirked and handed me the keys.

I walked over to the skyline and grabbed the roof and swung my legs in threw the window and buckled up and put the keys in the ignition and the engine started and all the controls lit up with the lights.

"Alright, the controls are basic, you should be able to figure them out" Reece said.

I nodded.

"Watch out for the Lamborghini, he's the biggest rival and is out to get us" Vince instructed.

I nodded again and put my hands on the steering wheel.

"The track path is up and goes threw town and gets on the highway and get off route 22" Neil said.

"Well be talking to you threw the radio, so listen and will tell you what to do" Craig said.

"Now remember one little push on the pedal and it will take off, you've got 305 miles, so be careful and know your limit" Will told me.

I breathed "Why am I doing this"?

They tapped the hood of the car and said "Good luck".

Cars came up and the guy in the yellow Lamborghini came up next to me.

He raised an eyebrow and smirked "Fresh bait" he called over "Good Luck, sweetheart".

I turned my eyes back in front of me as adrenaline rushed threw me.

The timer and crowd counted down.

2..................

1.................

GO!

I stepped on the gas and sped off with all cars zooming threw.

I clutched the steering wheel as my foot was on the gas and I was hitting 100 miles per hour already.

"Watch your surroundings" Craig said threw the radio.

I saw the guy in the Lamborghini coming up behind me.

We came to the roads.

"Alright Rain, it's only you now since we can't see you" Will said threw the radio.

"F*cking great" I muttered.

"Okay where am I going"? I asked.

"Downtown and be careful of cops" Vince said.

I zoomed threw streets and the cars started to spread a apart from distance.

I was fighting with the guy in the Lamborghini he glared at me and I sped past signs and ran red lights.

I changed my gears constantly.

"Ooooo she's a gear changer Ryker, you may have conversation" I heard Neil said.

"Shut up" Ryker said back.

I rolled my eyes as they were talking on and I heard it from the radio.

"Thompson, where are you"?

I looked at the street signs.

"Uhhh, 28th street" I answered speeding past cars" I said.

"You got 8 miles to go, pick it up" Craig said threw the radio.

"Let's test her" I heard Ryker say.

"Ryker don't" Neil warned.

Then Ryker said threw the radio "Go off road".

"Rain don't-" They all started.

"Fine" I said.

What am I getting myself into!?!

I wanted to have a Vampire Diaries marathon but now I'm street racing.....

Yay life! NOT.

"Rain I wouldn't try it, it's dangerous and this is your first time racing" Reece said.

"Well I guess were never know till we find out" I stated.

The guy in the Lamborghini got onto the highway and sped away; making him in first and me in second.

I bit my lip and looked back and then back at the road ahead of me.

I pushed down on the gas and pushed 215 miles.

I sped past cars that beeped and honked at me but I ignored it and drove on the side of the highway.

I caught up to the guy and drove right behind him.

I sped past him and kept my hands clasped around the steering wheel.

I switched my gears and bit my lip.

I looked at my rear-view mirror and saw him coming ahead of me.

I did the only thing possible....

I sped up and cars moved out of the way.

I slammed on my breaks making me fly but my seat belt caught me.

The tires screeched against the road, and all cars stopped slamming on their breaks.

I did a full circle as I turned the wheel sideways and held it making me spin and the cars ended up blocking the guy, so he couldn't move until they did.

I smirked and sped off and went down the highway leaving the mess behind me.

"What the hell did you just do"?! I heard them yell over the radio.

"O my God! I can't believe you just did that!" I heard Leah say.

Their was a screen that has the cars being recorded on the highway and they are all probably watching it at the bar station place.

"Damn" Ryker muttered.

"Who taught you to drive"!? Craig exclaimed.

"Umm.....my brothers" I said.

Cruelest months of my life......

They made me learn how to drive stick before anything else and I had to be able to change tires and repair my own car before I could get my licenses.

I saw the guy a few meters behind me.

"Crap" I muttered to myself.

I grabbed the wheel and said "I'm going off road".

"Be careful Thompson" Neil said.

I turned off the highway and sped threw a field and changed my gears and went threw a field of grass and went threw a wooded area.

I came back onto the road and I cut out 3 miles by doing that.

But the guy was right beside me.

"Does this guy not know when to quit"?! I mumbled.

I saw the finish line ahead and sped up.

"Lets go Thompson"! They said.

The guy then decided to be an ass and swerve into my lane, I slammed on my breaks and spinned by accident.

I breathed then changing my gears and looking back behind me.

I slammed on my gas and drove backwards because I didn't have enough time to get the car to go forward again.

I kept looking back as I was driving backwards.

I then got the car to spin around with full force and became forward.

I looked over and he had is jaw clenched and was focused on the road.

"Let's go! Let's go Thompson"! They yelled.

I took a deep breath then pressing fully down on the gas and coming ahead.

I then crossed the finish line.

Cheers and hollers erupted everywhere from people.

I slammed on my breaks and slammed my head back and closed my eyes shut and breathed then re-opening my eyes.

I got the keys out of the ignition then getting out of the car and slamming the door.

"O my god! You did it"! Leah and Liz ran up and hugged me.

The guys high-fived me and say "Nice job".

Ryker studied me "You're not so bad, Thompson".

I raised an eyebrow and gave an amused face.

"But I'm still better" He smirked.

I rolled my eyes.

Then the guy that was in the Lamborghini came up looking pissed off.

"Who the hell are you"?! He yelled.

"That is none of your business" Neil and Ryker stepped in front of me.

The guy walked away with his fist clutched.

"Who's he"? I asked.

"He's- just stay away from him" Neil said.

I nodded.

"Rain Eliza Thompson"! I heard voices yell.

"O f*ck, I'm dead" I said and rubbed my temples.

Joel came over to me and yelled "What the hell is wrong with you"!?

"Yo dude, she was just helping us out" Craig said.

"Stay away from my sister, or I'll have all your asses in jail" He gritted.

"Whoa, Joel calm. 1) You're not a cop. 2) Relax before I call dad and told him you took me here" I tested.

He glared at me "Let's go" then grabbing my wrist and pulling me away.

"What the f*ck is wrong with you Rain"?! Jax and Ryan yelled at me.

"I'm 18, get over yourselves" I yelled.

"Come on, we're going" Ryan ordered.

Alex gave me a sympathetic smile.

They all turned around and started to walk away.

Liz ran up to me and said "Give me your number".

I said "Okay....".

She gave me her phone and I put my number in.

She said "Alright, good luck with your brothers".

I rolled my eyes "It's same old, same old".

She chuckled and said "Bye" and walked away.

I walked over to the parking lot.
