Chapter 7

It was Friday and I had the date with Blake tonight.

"Try this on"! Alex said excitedly as she threw a bunch of clothes at me.

"Alex, I know how to dress myself" I said and walked into my closet and shut the door.

I threw on a red long sleeve shirt, skinny jeans, a gray beanie, and converses.

I walked out and Alex grinned and said "Let me do your hair"!

I narrowed my eyes at her.

She frowned and sighed "I'm sorry- it's just. You haven't been on a date in awhile and my little Rain is growing up".

I threw a pillow at her and laughed.

I heard the doorbell ring from downstairs.

I ran down the spiral staircase, trying to get the door before my brothers answered.

"I got it"! I yelled.

I opened the door to Blake.

He smiled "Hey Rain".

"Hey" I smiled.

"Alright. State you first, middle, last, name. Age, occupation, future plans, medical plans, insurance, health and hygiene records" My brothers all bombarded him with questions.

"Guys"! I yelled and they became silence "I'll be back by midnight. Alright"?

They nodded stern and glared at Blake.

I stepped out and shut the door behind me and we walked down the driveway.

"Sorry about that, my brothers are really overprotective" I said.

He chuckled "It's alright. I get it. I'm the same way with my sisters boyfriend".

I smiled and got in his black colored Volvo.

"Nice car" I said as I buckled up.

He said "Thanks, but mines in the shop this is my sisters".

I nodded.

"So where are we going"? I asked.

"I heard you like Music Festivals" He said.

I nodded.

"Well their's one up in Manhattan" He said "Want to go"?

My eyes lit up and I nodded.

He chuckled and drove off.

I laughed as he took my hands and spinned me.

Blake is actually really nice and funny, not like the quarterback douche he seems to be.

"Say you'll never let me go"! I sang as the band played Roses by The Chainsmokers.

He laughed and said "You know your not that bad of a singer".

"Why thank you" I said in a posh tone.

The song ended.

"Want to get something to eat"? He asked.

I nodded and he took my hand and led me out of the crowd and away from the stage.

He ordered a thing of fries then insisted on paying and handing the french fries to me.

I popped a french fry into my mouth as we walked down the rail-road tracks.

"Thank you" I said.

"No prob" He said and taking a fry and popping it into his mouth.

I balanced myself on the beams of the rail-road tracks and he chuckled holding onto my arm; making sure I wouldn't fall.

We came to the end of the tracks and sat down on the grass.

I examined the stars.

"Wow" I said fascinated.

"You like stars"? He asked.

"Yeah, I would always go out and my mom and I would just look at them for hours at night" I said smiling at the memory of ,my mom and I.

"Not to make you uncomfortable or anything, but where is your mom"? He asked.

"Uhhhh...she's in California. My parents were divorced when I was 13".

"Why'd they get divorced"? He asked concerned.

"It just didn't work out" I lied not wanting to tell him my dad was an abusive drunk to my mom.

He nodded "Sorry, I didn't mean to push it-".

I shook my head and forced a smile "No it's fine".

His phone went off.

I asked "You gonna answer it"?

He answered it "Hello"?

Then he tensed up and said "Alright, be there in 5".

I raised an eyebrow and he hung up.

"I just need to go grab something, mind coming"? He asked.

I stood up and so did he.

We pulled up to an old abandoned warehouse.

He said "It'll just be a minute, stay here" then he got out and shut the door.

Why did he just go in to a abandoned warehouse!?

I then heard a loud bang.

Gun shot.

My eyes widened and I grabbed my backpack that was in the backseat and grabbed my handgun.

Yes, I carry a hand gun for self defense.

My dad's the sheriff so why not...

I loaded the bullets into the chamber and got out and held it down by my side and walked in the building.

I opened the door and closed it quietly behind me.

I studied my surroundings.

I heard another shot go off and it was upstairs.

I ran up the old broken down steps as adrenaline pumped threw me, my palms became sweaty, and my heart raced.

I came upstairs and saw a bunch of people and Blake and a couple guys held guns out to some guy.

My breath-hitched and I saw Ryker.

They all held guys pointed at him as he was cornered.

"Put it down"! I yelled coming out from behind the wall and their heads all whipped to me.

Blake's eyes widened.

I held the gun out "Put the gun down now, before I land all your asses in jail" I warned.

The guy that I raced against that was in the Lamborghini.

"I told you to stay in the f*cking car" Blake said angry.

"Put the gun down" I ordered.

The guy I raced against smirked "Well, this is the girl you went on a date Blake".

Blake said "Rain get back in the car".

I looked at Ryker and he clenched his jaw and his eyes were dark.

I squeezed my eyes shut and pulled the trigger and everyone jumped.

Ryker got out of the guys grip and threw a punch to their faces then we both ran out of the building as gun shots were heard behind me.

I ran down the old steps and then my heart stopped as I fell threw one of the steps.

Ryker grabbed my hand before I fell and pulled me back up.

I said "Thank you" breathlessly and he grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the building.

As they chased after us.

Ryker got in Blake's car and I got in the passenger seat.

Blake luckily left his keys in the ignition and Ryker sped off.

I clutched my seat as Ryker went way past the speed limit.

He kept his eyes on the ride and said "Call Craig".

I nodded then he handed me his phone.

I searched threw his contacts and called Craig.

"What do you f*cking want"? Craig answered.

"Uhhh it's Rain" I said awkwardly.

"Oh sorry Rain. Why do you have Ryker's phone"? Craig asked.

Ryker took the phone from me and explained to Craig what happened.

He hung up and said "Where do you live"?

"Hamilton Street" I answered.

He scoffed a laugh "Rich neighborhood".

I rolled my eyes "You know I would really appreciate it, if you'd stop rubbing my wealth in my face, because it's not my money its my dad, moron"!

We came to my house and I unbuckled.

"Whoa" Ryker said as he stared at my house "Thats not a house, that's a mansion"!

I grabbed my backpack and stepped out.

"Thanks for the ride" I said.

He nodded.

I started to walk away.

"Thompson" He said.

I turned around.

"Thank you.......I guess" He said.

I chuckled and nodded then walking up the driveway and opened the door and walked in.

"Hey, you're home early" Jax said.

"Yeah, I don't think will be going on a second date" I said as I headed for the stairs.

"That bad"? Ryan asked.

I stopped and said "Just........dramatic" then walking upstairs to my room.

I sighed and picked up my phone and saw it was 10.

The school's quarterback is in a gang.....

Fan-f*cking-tastic.

I got up to my phone ringing.

"Hello"? I answered.

"Hey Rain" I heard Liz say.

"Oh, hey" I said rubbing my eyes trying to wake up.

"Were you sleeping"? She asked.

"Maybe........" I trailed off.

"Sorry I just figure'd since its noon" She apologized.

"It's fine" I said.

"Well I was wondering, if you wanted to come to my house today? The whole gang is coming and my mom is just throwing some cook-out" Liz.

I scratched the back of my neck "Uhhhh......I don't know Liz-".

"O come on! Everyone wants you to come" She said "It'll be fun".

"I have homework and -".

"You can bring it here" She said.

"Ok......fine" I gave in.

"Yay!" She said excitedly "It's at 3".

"Ok bye" I said rubbing my eyes and hanging up.

"I finally got her to come"! Liz cheered as she came in.

"Good" Craig said.

I rolled my eyes and stood up and walked over to the fridge and grabbed a beer then cracking it open "I don't know why you like this girl so much"?

"Dude!" Peter exclaimed "She's f*cking bad-ass".

Neil rolled his eyes "Not just that. She's got the mind we need".

"Yeah" Will agreed "She's a creative thinker".

"Whatever" I said "When I drove her home, her house is a f*cking mansion! She probably has people hired for them to think for her".

"It doesn't matter if she's rich or not" Leah said "And Rain doesn't seem like the person that's stuck up and rubs their money in other peoples faces".

I thought back to last night when got mad and said for me to stop using her wealth against her.

"Guys" Reece said walking in "Is Rain a model"?

We all raised eyebrows.

Reece threw a magazine down and had a picture of Rain on the front cover.

Neil said "Ryker isn't that what Rain was wearing in the store"?

I nodded and picked up the magazine.

She's hot; I'll give her that.

"Damn" Vince said.

"I'd tap that" The guys all agreed.

"Whoa, she works for L'Oreal" Leah and Liz said taking the magazine out of my hands.

I took a sip of my beer "Rich kid" I said again.

No one was home because my brothers all had classes today and my dad was off at work; like everyday.

I tied my converses and walked out.

Liz gave me specific directions to follow to get to her house.

I knocked on the door.

The door opened moments later "Rain"! Liz cheered and opened the door all the way.

It was a big house, and Mrs. Doyle came over and smiled "Hi Rain, glad you could make it. Liz and Neil have been talking about you lately".

I smiled and Liz said "Well everyone up here is family, but the gang is downstairs. Follow me".

I put my things down my the door and followed Liz down to the basement.

It was re-done into a 'hang out area'.

"Hey Thompson"! Peter called and everyone looked at me.

Liz pulled me over to the couch and made me sit down next to her.

"Hey Rich kid" Ryker said as he walked over and plopped on the other end of the couch.

I said "I told you to not call me that".

"Well it's kinda of hard not to" He smirked "You know, you being a model and all".

My eyes widened and jaw dropped "I-I-How'd you find out"?!

Reece tossed me a magazine.

I caught it and saw a picture from the photo shoot on it.

I groaned and Leah asked "You don't like modeling"?

"Not one bit" I said shaking my head "It's my bitchy aunts fault too".

"So that was the family thing..." Neil smirked and I rolled my eyes.

"Ryker! Ryker! Ryker!" A little girl yelled.

A girl with curly shoulder length ginger hair that was about 5 or 6 came running up.

Ryker picked her up and she giggled.

"Yes Melanie"? He asked.

"Can I have ice-cream"!? She asked excitedly.

"No! No! No! Don't let her Ryker, she's already hyper enough"! A girl with blond hair about 15 came running in.

"Please Ryker"! Melanie asked sticking out her bottom lip and giving puppy-dog eyes.

"No, you haven't had dinner" Ryker said.

"But-"

"No Melanie" He said to her and she frowned.

"Ha!" The girl with blond hair laughed.

"Faith" Ryker warned.

"Who's she"!? Melanie asked looking at me and walking over to me.

"That's Thompson" Ryker rolled his eyes.

I narrowed my eyes at him.

"This is Rain" Reece said "Rain this is our 2 other sisters Faith and Melanie".

"You're pretty" Melanie giggled grinning ear and ear.

"Thank you" I smiled.

"Wait! Rain? Rain Thompson?!" Faith exclaimed.

I nodded slowly.

Her eyes lit up "The model"?!

I nodded slightly.

"O my God! And your mom's a clothing designer"!

I nodded again.

"Ok Faith, before you break her ear-drums with squealing so much" Leah said.

Faith smiled sheepishly "Sorry".

"It's alright" I forced a smile.

"So Rain, tell us about yourself; since we don't really know anything about you..." Vince said.

"What do you want to know"? I asked.

"You know the usual" Will shrugged.

"Uhhh, okay.....I'm the youngest of my family with 3 older brothers. My parents are divorced, my mom lives in California, I'm graduating this year then heading off to college...."

"How about you favorite: color, number, band, song, food, movie.......when your's birthday"?!?! Liz asked.

I blinked a few times then saying "Red, 7, The Fray, Sweater Weather or You Found Me, Fries, Red Dawn.....and March 27th".

"Ha! Ryker's birthday is March 28th" Faith said.

"You stole my f*cking birthday month" Ryker glared at me.

We were all sitting in the living room and everyone was talking.

I kept looking at the piano and smiled at the memories of my mom.

Melanie tried playing as she tried Mary Had a Little Lamb.

I stood up from the couch and walked over to the grand piano and sat down next to her.

Everyone watched.

"Here, it's E-D-C-D-E-E-E-D-D-D-E-E-E-E-D-C-D-C-D-E-D-C" I said as I played it.

(A://N Those are actually the notes, it may not be exact but that's how my grandfather taught me to play when I was little)

She looked at it confused.

I took her fingers and placed them on the right keys and pressed her fingers down gently on certain keys until I went threw the whole thing.

She giggled and smiled "Thank you"!

"Oh, Rain's at the piano" Mrs. Doyle said "Play something".

I shook my head "No- it's been awhile".

"Oh come on"! She said.

I sighed "Okay. What song"?

"Stay the night by Zedd" Leah suggested "I saw someone play it at a music festival".

I nodded then placing my hands and closed my eyes then starting.

I figure'd put the chords pretty fast.

Fm, Eb, Ab, Bbm, Cm, Dd; are the chords that are repeated throughout the song.

I picked the speed and my fingers traveled across the piano keys.

I remember when my mom would just sit and play the piano and I watched her mesmerized for hours how she could play so delicately.

I played the same chords over and over again and finished.

"Wow" I heard people say.

"How'd you do that"?! Melanie asked.

I laughed "Practice, lots and lots of practice".

"Come on"! Liz and Leah pulled me upstairs.

"Do I have to go swimming"? I asked.

"Yes, now let's go" Liz said.

We walked into Liz's yellow painted room.

She threw me a black bikini and I caught it.

"You can change in my bathroom" She said.

I nodded and walked into Liz's bathroom and shut the door.

I quickly stripped of my clothes then throwing on the plain black bikini and tied it in the back.

I ran a hand threw my hair then picking up my clothes and shoving them in my bag then throwing on a pair of shades and walking out.

Liz and Leah were dressed in bikini's and I set my backpack down against the wall.

"Ready"? Leah asked.

I nodded and followed them downstairs.

We walked out back to the in-ground pool.

I mean it's April in NY, but I've been swimming in February........

Music played in the background.

I looked over at the guys and they were all shirtless in swim shorts.

Holy 6 packs!

God, you can not do this to a teenage girl!

Ryker's eyes caught mine and he pushed his black sunglasses down a bit and scanned over me and a smirk appeared on his face.

"Alright who's jumping in first"? Craig called.

Everyone looked at me.

"Why me"? I asked.

"You're new" Will shrugged.

"Fine" I said and walked over to the diving-board.

I walked to the edge and everyone stared at me.

I stepped back a few steps and breathed flipping in and I hit the water and went under.

It was a bit cold, but nothing bad.

I swam down and my feet touch the bottom of the pool.

I pushed off the pool floor and swam up and went up for air.

"Why I got you on my mind"! Liz, Leah, and Faith yelled the lyrics at the top of their lungs as the song played from the speakers.

I laughed and climbed out of the pool and stood on the edge of the pool.

A pair of arms wrapped around my waist and I jumped.

"Shhhh" Ryker whispered in my ear.

My back was pushed up against his bare chest and my breath hitched.

He then pushed me in.

I went under and came up immediately "You're so dead, Anderson".

"Whatever, you say Thompson" He smirked.

I got out and we ended up having a competition to see who could push who in.

Ryker blocked me and he lost his balance and fell in.

I smirked in victory.

He came up and his ran a hand threw his wet hair.

Then coming to the edge and grabbing my ankle and pulling me in and I hit the water again and I stood up and dunked him for a few moments.

Then he grabbed my forearm and pulled me under with him and held me down under him.

I tried to get out of his grip by squirming.

He finally let go of me and I went up and gasped for breath.

He came up and laughed and I splashed water at him and he smirked victoriously.

Ryker walked over to me then throwing me over his shoulder.

"Ryker-Whatever your middle name is-Anderson! Put me down"! I yelled and punched his back.

"Nah, I'm good,Thompson" He mimicked.

I pounded on his back "Just put me down!"

"Whatever you say princess" Then he threw me across the pool.

I closed my eyes and once I went under and I smirked to myself and stayed under.

I didn't go up and I saw them running towards me.

Ryker grabbed me and pulled me up and muttered "F*ck, Thompson wake up".

"Look what you f*cking did Anderson"! Craig yelled.

"Call 911" Ryker said.

"Boo"! I yelled opening my eyes and they all jumped and I laughed clutching my stomach.

"That wasn't funny" Ryker said glaring at me.

I laughed "Yes it was!"

"F*ck you" He glared at me.

Everyone was laughing as Ryker glared at me.

"Kids dinner"! Mrs. Doyle and we all got out.

We all grabbed plates and filled them with food.

Then I sat down on the outside furniture and every else did.

"Don't models have some eating limit"? Will asked.

"William"! Mrs. Doyle scowled.

I laughed then said "Yeah, but I don't listen to it anyways, I'd be anorexic if I did".

"You're already skinny enough, trust me" Liz said.

I shrugged.

"How's the homework coming Rain"? Mrs. Doyle asked narrowing her eyes at me.

I said "You mean the homework I haven't started, it's going great".

Everyone chuckled.

"Rain!" She yelled.

"It's fine, I'll just do it in lunch on Monday" I said.

"O my God, it's Ryker all over again"! Vince laughed.

"Rykeeeeeeeee"! Melanie said.

I smiled to myself at how she called him that.

"Yes Mel"? He asked picking her up and setting her down on his lap.

"Can I have ice-cream, now"? She pleaded.

Awww, she's so cute.

"How about we just all go and get ice-cream after dinner, theirs a shop down the street" Neil said.

Melanie cheered "Yay, thank you Neil!"

I stared down at my skateboard as I did an Ollie and waited for everyone.

They all walked out.

"Skater Girl, I see" Reece said.

I shrugged and smirked "Maybe a little" then doing a kick flip.

"Nice" Peter said.

"Let's go" Will said.

Ryker picked Melanie up and placed her on his shoulders and she giggled and everyone walked as I skated slowly beside them, not wanting to walk.

I realized we were all still in our bathing suits.......

We came to the ice-cream shop.

We all ordered and I felt someone tap my shoulder.

I jumped and turned around and my eyes lit up.

"O my God! Mikey you scared me"! I said and hugged him.

He laughed "Hey Rain".

"What's up"? I asked popping the 'p'.

"Nothing much, just getting ice-cream" He said nodding towards the ice-cream shop.

I nodded.

"Who are you with"? He asked looking at everyone.

I said "O um...here" then grabbing his hand and pulling him over to them.

Everyone raised eyebrows at him.

"Wow your hot, can I have your number"?! Liz blurted.

I held the smile back and everyone stared at her shocked.

"Uh this is Liz, Leah, Craig, Peter, Reece, Will, Vince, Faith, Melanie, and Ryker. This is Mikey" I said introducing them.

"How do you know him"? Leah asked.

I bit my lip and said "He's my Ex-Boyfriend........."

Liz eyes widened "O my God! Rain I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to-"!

I shook my head and laughed "It's fine".

Mikey smiled "Well I got to go. Nice seeing you Rain" then pecking my cheek and walking away.

"Didn't take you as a girl who's had boyfriends before" Ryker said amused.

"I've had 2 thank you very much" I said rolling my eyes.

"O is that so" He said narrowing his eyes at me.

I nodded

"Are you a virgin"? He tested smirking leaning closer to me.

"Why"?

"Just answer it" He said the smirk never leaving his face.

"Their are children present" I said.

He shrugged "So..."

I walked my fingers on his chest and leaned closer to him and staring down at his abs, then my eyes looking up to meet his "Guess that's a secret" I whispered in his ear and a smirk grew on my face and I backed up.
