chapter 7 I dropped it myself

"Boss, I'm Fatty Zhou." Fatty Zhou said.
"How did you end up like this?"
"Boss, this wimp, came to work at our restaurant. I kindly took him in, but he ended up hitting a customer and causing such a big loss to the restaurant. I fired him, and now he's come back to hit me. Boss, you have to stand up for me. I'm doing all this for the restaurant."
Han Tang glanced at Fatty Zhou. It seems his brain isn't damaged since he knows how to twist the logics.
"Boss, it's not what you heard. There were thugs..."
Han Tang stepped forward to explain, but York Li impatiently said, "If there's something, tell it to the police. I don't have time to listen. I have important guests coming soon."
York Li told Stan Zhang, "Call the police, let them handle it strictly. Employees beating the manager, has the world become lawless?"
Stan Zhang, seizing the opportunity to perform well, immediately took out his phone. "Police station? I'm from Li's Secret Palace Restaurant. There's a fight going on here..."
With the backing of the boss, Fatty Zhou gained confidence. He got up from the ground, wiped the blood from his mouth, and pointed at Han Tang, saying, "You damn cripple, this time I'll let you off easy. Wait until we get to the police station, I'll take my time to deal with you."
At this moment, a majestic voice rang out, "Let's see who dares to send my grandson to the police station!"
Fatty Zhou was furious, turned his head, and saw an elderly man in Tang suit standing at the doorway. He cursed, "Where did this old fart come from? Hurry up and get out!"
Little did he know, as soon as the words left his mouth, York Li delivered a resounding slap to his pig-like face, scolding, "Shut your dog mouth! How can you talk to Mr. Yang like that?"
Fatty Zhou didn't recognize the old man, but he knew York Li. A large portion of his businesses depended on ChangKong Group. Not recognizing someone was one thing, but not recognizing Mr. Henry Yang was another.
Moreover, he came today because he received a call from Mr. Yang's steward, saying that Mr. Yang wanted to talk to him. Normally, he wasn’t even qualified to converse with Mr. Yang. Today, Mr. Yang personally made an appointment, so he hurriedly came over.
York Li approached Mr. Yang with an obsequious look, warmly inviting him, "Mr. Yang, please come inside."
Seeing Mr. Yang's arrival, Han Tang approached and said, "Grandpa, why have you come?" Then he nodded in acknowledgment to the steward behind Mr. Yang as a form of greeting.
Mr. Yang held Han Tang's hand and said, "If I had not come, who will help you? Someone actually wants to send my grandson to the police station."
As soon as Mr. Yang spoke, the expression on York Li's face was nothing short of spectacular. This delivery boy had such an influential grandfather. In other words, if you have such an influential grandfather, why were he still doing delivery?
Others were also stunned, looking at Han Tang in amazement.
York Li, who had been in the business world for decades, had an extremely fast reaction. After assessing the situation, he immediately changed his expression and said, "Misunderstanding, it's definitely a misunderstanding. A minor scuffle is nothing. Manager Zhou, come over quickly and apologize to this young man. We're all one family, after all."
York Li didn't know Han Tang's name. He was usually a high and mighty big boss; why would he care about a minor employee?
Apologize? Fatty Zhou couldn't accept it for a moment. He had been beaten like this, and he was actually being asked to apologize. What a humiliation. He thought to himself, was there no justice left in the world?
York Li pulled Fatty Zhou over and said in a low voice, "Apologize or get out."
Fatty Zhou knew he had provoked someone he couldn't afford to provoke. He didn't care about his current position; he could only endure his grievances and come to Han Tang, saying, "I...I'm sorry, I was short-sighted."
After saying this, Fatty Zhou felt like he was about to spit blood from the frustration. How could he understand that Han Tang, a poor student, suddenly had such a powerful grandfather?
Han Tang waved his hand and said, "Forget it." He had already vented.
"Who had called the police?"
Two policemen in uniforms appeared at the entrance of the restaurant.
"No one called the police, absolutely not," York Li quickly stepped forward and said. This was a joke; if Mr. Henry Yang's grandson was sent to the police station, several enterprises of his would go bankrupt tomorrow.
The leading policeman with glasses said, "We have received a call a while ago, saying there was a fight."
"We didn't, there absolutely isn’t," York Li emphasized earnestly.
"Then what happened to him? Wasn't he beaten up?" the bespectacled policeman pointed at Fatty Zhou, who looked like a pig's head.
"No, he fell by himself," York Li said.
York Li was rushing to speak, and the bespectacled policeman was getting annoyed. He said, "I didn't ask you. Let him speak for himself."
Fatty Zhou, enduring a belly full of grievances and tears, said, "It's...it's me, I fell by myself."
"You're an adult, can't you be more careful when walking? Don't call us for something like this again. Do you know how busy we are?" The bespectacled policeman said, clearly unhappy.
Fatty Zhou felt bitter; he was being scolded by the police after being beaten like this.
"Yes, yes, I'll be more careful in the future. Officers, take care." York Li said.
After finally sending the police away, York Li said to Mr. Henry Yang, "Mr. Yang, let's go upstairs."
Mr. Yang said, "No need. I have only one thing to discuss with you. I want this restaurant. Name your price."
"Ah...this..." York Li hadn't expected that Mr. Henry Yang wanted to buy his restaurant. To be honest, the restaurant’s business was not bad. Although it was only a small part of his industry, he didn't want to sell it.
"Butler, what's the market value of this restaurant?" Mr. Henry Yang asked.
The steward said, "Sir, this building of the restaurant is worth around 15 million, and including other assets, it's between 26 to 28 million."
It seems the steward had done a detailed market research before coming over.
After listening, Mr. Henry Yang said to York Li, "I'll give you 30 million."
"Good, I'll sell it." York Li hesitated for a moment, but ultimately decided to sell. The price offered was more than fair, and he did not dare to reject Mr. Henry Yang’s offer. Otherwise, the losses he would incur wouldn't be comparable to just one restaurant.
Fatty Zhou was a little dumbfounded. If York Li sold the restaurant, who would he manage for?
After York Li agreed, the steward immediately took out a pre-printed contract. It seemed that Mr. Henry Yang had come prepared.
York Li glanced briefly at the contract and signed it at the back.
Mr. Henry Yang said to Han Tang, "Come here, sign your name."
Han Tang said in surprise, "Me? I Sign? Shouldn't it be you, Grandpa?"
Mr. Henry Yang said, "This is a gift from Grandpa to you. Since you call me Grandpa, I should give you a decent gift. The restaurant might be small, but it fulfils your dream partly. From now on, you're the owner of this place."
"Thank you, Grandpa." Han Tang felt deeply moved.
After signing the contract, Fatty Zhou said to York Li, "Boss, what should I do now?"
York Li said, "I'm not your boss anymore. Your new boss is Han Tang. Your future endeavours depend on what Mr. Tang wants."
Fatty Zhou was completely dumbfounded. He looked at Han Tang, his eyes as timid as a maid who had done something wrong, completely devoid of his previous arrogance and haughtiness.
Han Tang glanced at the now unrecognizable Fatty Zhou and said, "Fatty Zhou, remember what you said this morning. If I became the boss, you'll let me step on you. I bet you haven't forgotten that did you?"
Fatty Zhou knelt down with a thud, "Boss, as long as you spare me this once, I'll be a dog by your side and do whatever you want me to."
