Baldwin Qi was preparing to leave, Polly Li immediately called out to him.
"Hey, hey, hey, what are you doing? April kindly brought you out to have fun, and you're leaving without even saying goodbye?" Polly Li said bluntly.
"Perhaps he saw Mr. Zhang’s swordsmanship and felt ashamed?" Childe Wu, who had just been defeated, chuckled.
After saying this, he turned to April Qiao and said, "April, after all, fencing is a noble sport. He, being a country bumpkin, obviously wouldn’t be able to handle it."
"So, it's understandable if he wants to leave early."
April Qiao said coldly, "Baldwin Qi, don't be ungrateful. I brought you here out of kindness, and you're disrespecting me? What will my father think if I tell him about this?"
Egbert Zhang was adjusting his protective gear and casually remarked, "Forget it, April. A commoner will never fit in with the elite. Fencing, a noble sport, isn't for him. Maybe he should play basketball outside."
Baldwin Qi's mouth twitched, and he replied, "I'm not interested in such flashy sports. Swords are for killing, not playing."
Childe Wu burst into laughter, saying, "What right does a country bumpkin like you have to comment on fencing, a noble sport?"
"I bet you're just bad at it, which is why you're talking big here."
"If you think you're good, then don't sneak away like a thief. Challenge Mr. Zhang!"
Egbert Zhang shook his head and said, "Let's not embarrass him. I'm afraid I might not be able to control myself and hurt him."
Baldwin Qi knew that if he didn't step up, they would never stop. If the matter had escalated to Clyde Qiao, it would be hard for him.
After a moment's thought, Baldwin Qi casually said, "Fine, let's try it then. I'll hold back."
"Hahaha... How ridiculous! Have you, a country bumpkin, ever fenced before? And yet you're still making such bold claims!" Polly Li was the first to laugh.
Egbert Zhang squinted and said indifferently, "If you want to try, then I'll entertain you."
Wanting to settle the matter quickly and avoid further encounters with Cheyenn Yu, Baldwin Qi grabbed a sword.
"Put on your protective gear. I don't want to hurt you," Egbert Zhang said coldly.
"No need. Let's end this this quickly." Baldwin Qi weighed the toy-like sword in his hand and shook his head.
Egbert Zhang grew annoyed and said, "Alright, let's begin!"
He took a step forward, pointing his sword at Baldwin Qi, took a deep breath, and the sword in his hand was steady as a rock, emanating a terrifying aura.
Baldwin Qi stood casually, his sword even pointing down at the ground, looking every bit the novice.
"Just look at his stance and the way he holds his sword. It's obvious he's a beginner. And he's acting tough without protective gear. I'm really afraid Mr. Zhang will poke his eye out with a single move!" Childe Wu said with a cold laugh.
Seeing this, doubt appeared in April Qiao's eyes.
Polly Li, sensing her hesitation, quickly said, "April, now's not the time to be soft-hearted!"
"We need to show this toad the difference between him and us. Otherwise, he'll keep pestering you and not agree to divorce. Wouldn't that hold you back?"
"Mr. Zhang knows his limits. He won't hurt him too badly. At most, he'll only teach him a lesson. Don't worry."
Under Polly Li's persuasion, April Qiao reluctantly nodded.
“Alright, begin!”
After that command, Egbert Zhang took a quick step and lunged directly at Baldwin Qi's torso!
Childe Wu praised, "Look at Mr. Zhang's strike. His movements are swift and direct without any unnecessary flourishes, already comparable to a professional athlete!"
Egbert Zhang's attack was very sudden and clean without any superfluous movements; even a professional athlete couldn't have executed it more perfectly.
Baldwin Qi's relaxed posture remained unchanged, but he moved just as the sword was about to hit him.
“This kid will definitely regret showing off without wearing protective gear…” A mocking look flashed in Childe Wu's eyes.
Before he had finished his words, Baldwin Qi flicked his wrist and deflected Egbert Zhang's attacking sword, then followed up with a swatting motion as if swatting a fly!
“Ah!”
Caught off guard by this unconventional move, Egbert Zhang felt pain in his wrist and dropped his sword.
The expressions of the onlookers froze instantly. They exchanged incredulous glances.
Egbert Zhang was the third-place winner in a national amateur competition. He was almost on par with professional athletes, yet he was defeated by a countryside guy like Baldwin Qi!
"If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving. Don't invite me for such boring events next time," Baldwin Qi casually said, tossing the sword aside and turning to leave.
Polly Li exclaimed angrily, "Impossible! You must have used some sneaky trick to barely win against Mr. Zhang."
Childe Wu quickly added, "Exactly, you need to apologize to Mr. Zhang."
"Childish!"
Baldwin Qi snorted coldly, not bothering with these tedious people, and left with a flourish.
Egbert Zhang gritted his teeth, holding his sore wrist. Had he not been wearing protective gloves, that strike might have broken his wrist.
At that moment, Cheyenn Yu looked over and happened to see Baldwin Qi's retreating figure and April Qiao's group.
She set down her finely crafted bow and arrow and began walking towards them.
Gene Zhao was taken aback. He wondered if he had offended this female warrior. Why did she leave without greeting? He quickly followed her.
He saw Baldwin Qi walking out of the club and mused, "Hmm... he looks a bit like The second-in-command."
"Oh my, General Yu is walking towards us!"
Seeing Cheyenn Yu approaching, everyone was dumbstruck, their bodies trembling involuntarily.
Not only was Cheyenn Yu of unsurpassed beauty, but she also had unparalleled courage. She was a hero among women, doing many things that many men couldn't.
Ever since this woman appeared, every word of high praise for women had been attributed to her without exception.
There wasn't a man who didn't admire a woman like Cheyenn Yu.
Similarly, no woman didn't wish to become a woman like Cheyenn Yu!
Even the previously haughty Egbert Zhang and Polly Li found themselves involuntarily shrinking back at this moment.
“Thud thud thud——”
As Cheyenn Yu's light footsteps drew closer, everyone felt as if their heartbeats were syncing with her steps.
The aura of this woman was astounding!
