chapter 2 Is a slap of ten million enough?

by Halszka 18:35,Nov 22,2023
Leaving the hotel, Christian wandered the streets.
Holding his mother's keepsake in his hand, his face showed desolation, "Mom, I am alone again..."
Three years ago.
His father mysteriously disappeared, and his mother passed away due to illness, leaving him alone.
Until he met Kadmiel Olson, the Family Master of the Olson, who took him back to the Olson Family, and arranged his marriage to Timila, giving him a family again.
Therefore, he cherished this marriage extremely, pouring all his heart into it.
He thought their love would go on forever.
But unexpectedly, after three years of sincere effort, what he got in return was a divorce agreement!
Timila only saw his superficial mediocrity.
But she never saw the effort behind it.
Maybe, it was time to reveal his true self...
Half an hour later, Christian took a taxi to the Olson Family.
In the three years of marriage, he gave his all but never bought a single piece of clothing for himself or spent a penny on himself.
He had no possessions, only his mother's urn and spiritual tablet.
Now, he wanted to take them back and leave the Olson Family forever with his mother.
"Tsk."
The car stopped, and Christian got out.
Just as he reached the entrance, he saw a well-dressed, dignified lady standing there.
Beside her on a chair, sat a seventeen or eighteen-year-old girl, full of youth and vitality.
"Mom."
Seeing the lady, Christian forced a smile and called out.
Her name was Hortense Carter, Timila's mother, and also his former mother-in-law.
The young girl, comparable in looks and figure to her sister, was named Aislin Olson, Christian’s former sister-in-law.
The two matters were separate, the divorce with Timila was a matter between the two of them, he didn’t want others to be involved.
"Have you signed the divorce agreement?"
Hortense glanced at Christian's pocket and said, "Hurry up and show it to me!"
Hearing this, Christian was stunned.
He had just found out about the divorce from Timila.
She immediately wanted to see the divorce papers and seemed a bit emotional, so he reassured her, "I've signed it, but the original is with Timila."
"Mom, don’t be agitated, my marriage bond with her has ended, don't blame her..."
"Are you out of your mind!"
Before he could finish, Hortense suddenly interrupted, glaring at him with wide eyes, "You still have the nerve to blame my daughter, shameless!"
"For these three years, for this family, for the Keller Group, Timila worked her life off."
"And you, just staying at home every day, eating and sleeping, even living a better life than that of a pig!"
"You willingly degenerate, lacking ambition, and always embarrassing her. If you weren’t so useless, would she divorce you?"
"That’s right!"
Aislin joined in, trimming her nails, and added, "I heard you’ve been flirting with the servants at home, living off a woman while cheating, not only did you betray her, but you also dared to ask for a divorce, you disgust me!"
Tsk.
Hearing this, Christian gasped in shock.
What did these mother and daughter mean? It was Timila who wanted the divorce, how did it end up with him wanting it?
And what about cheating, infidelity? Wasn’t this slander?
"No, Mom, you might be misunderstanding..."
"Misunderstand my foot!"
Aislin interrupted, hugging Hortense’s arm impatiently, "Mom, don’t waste your words with him, quickly get the things back!"
"Things? What things?"
Christian was utterly confused.
Hortense snapped.
"Stop playing dumb, don’t think I don’t know, in order to have you sign the paper, Timila gave you a house, a car, and a lot of money!"
"For these years, you've eaten and drunk from our house, just take those things in exchange!"
"Hurry up and hand them over, or don't blame me for being rude!"
Hearing this, Christian's face turned cold.
These three were playing a good double act.
Giving money on one hand, and demanding it on the other.
Were they treating him like a monkey, taking him for a fool?
"I didn’t take those things."
"Are you lying to a three-year-old?"
Hortense sneered, "The house, the car, and the money in the bank account, they must add up to 20 million dollars, right?"
Aislin followed, "Exactly, who would leave 20 million dollars untouched? There will always be those who take advantage of deals, hand over the things!"
"Otherwise, I will break your legs!"
Christian was utterly astonished.
In these three years, these two women never been good to him.
He was either serving tea and water or doing household chores.
Though aggrieved, considering his wife and grandfather, he endured.
But now, having divorced, he didn't serve this family anymore, to each their own!
"I said I didn't want it, believe it or not, it's up to you!"
Having said that, he was about to walk inside, but Hortense, unwilling to give up, flared up, "Dare you talk back to me?"
"Let me tell you, that won't work!"
Then, she ran over and frantically searched Christian.
After much fuss, aside from his outdated Nokia phone, she couldn't find a single thing.
"How strange, there really is nothing."
Hortense muttered in confusion, "That can't be right. Assistant Marsh was very clear, houses, cars, bank cards, all of them."
"Why doesn't he have them on him?"
Hearing this, Christian's expression changed.
So it was Brocha who had leaked this information.
And despite knowing that he didn't want those things, she still told the mother and daughter.
Was this an intentional harm?
"Hortense, may I now go in and gather my belongings?" Christian asked coldly.
He had considered past affections, but their actions were too much.
The so-called former mother-in-law no longer existed in his eyes, even referring to her by name.
"Walk my ass!"
Aislin suddenly jumped up, "Just because he doesn't have it on him doesn't mean it's not somewhere else."
"Maybe he's hidden it, to prevent us from finding it."
"Right!"
Hortense agreed, scolding, "Trash, tell me, where have you hidden the things?"
"You’re irrational."
Christian had no interest in further nonsense, "I'm only coming back tonight to retrieve my mother's urn and memorial tablet."
"If you continue to be unreasonable, don't blame me..."
As he spoke, his gaze shifted, and he saw Aislin using his mother's memorial tablet as a seat cushion!
"Aislin, how dare you use my mother's memorial tablet as a seat cushion?" Christian burst out in anger!
Aislin looked down and sneered, arrogantly saying, "As a seat cushion, it's even scratchy."
"You want it back, right?"
"Fine, bring the things to me, and I'll return it."
"Otherwise, I'll break it and burn it as firewood!"
After saying this, she stood up, grabbed the memorial tablet, and held it high in the air.
"I dare you?!"
Christian roared furiously, rushing over and grabbing her wrist, glaring at her!
"Aislin, put down my mother's memorial tablet right now."
"Otherwise..."
"Otherwise what can you do to me?" Aislin asked disdainfully, "Yell at me or hit me?"
"Open your damn eyes and see where you are. If you dare lay a finger on me."
"I'll make sure you regret your actions!"
Then.
She threw her right hand, and the memorial tablet smashed to the ground!
'Splish!'
A crisp sound, the tablet broke.
Scattered in pieces, even the inscribed characters were broken into several pieces!
Boom!
Seeing this, Christian's heart nearly shattered!
His rage surged throughout his body!
That was his mother's memorial tablet, his remembrance of her.
How dare she?!
"Trash will always be trash!"
"Breaking your dead mother's memorial tablet, and you don't even dare say a word."
"Haha, what a coward!"
Seeing Christian's silence, Aislin laughed wildly, pointing at him, taunting, "Look, my little dog's toy, it's your dead mother's urn."
"Are you giving the things or not? If not, I'll break this too..."
"Slap!!"
Whilst she was speaking, Christian struck like lightning!
Enveloped in thunderous fury, powerful and heavy, he slapped Aislin across the face!
She couldn't stand steadily and fell to the ground!
"Wretch!"
"You want money, right? Fine, I'll give it to you!"
"One slap for 10 million dollars, I'll give you as much as you want!"
Subsequently, Christian unleashed a flurry of blows, hammering her face left and right!
