chapter 2 Lila doesn't like you

by lilith 17:23,Aug 04,2023
A luxury car stopped by the roadside; it belonged to the Qin family.
As the driver hit the brakes, his face contorted with anger, and he suddenly turned to the backseat and yelled at Lila Qin.
"What are you babbling about? First, you tell lies, and now you're scaring people. I will definitely tell the master and young masters, and they will kick you out!"
Innocently, her big watery eyes blinked, and Lila Qin softly said, "Are you angry, Uncle? If you're angry, Lila won't say anything."
Could this seemingly harmless child, who had been treated like a little deity at Clearwater Temple, really be capable of this?
Before the driver could catch his breath, Lila Qin clapped her small hands and said, "So, Uncle, you grind your teeth and snore in your sleep, huh!"
The driver's pupils shrank.
He paid no more attention to Lila Qin, stepping on the gas pedal and driving on.
However, through the rearview mirror, he saw the young lady communicating with the air.
"Oh, so he's your daddy, but he's scared of these things, so you've been staying hidden?"
The driver's heart grew heavier, and he couldn't help but swallow hard.
"Okay," Lila Qin tilted her head, "but your daddy doesn't recognize you, do you want to say hello to him?"
"Fooling around!"
The driver cursed under his breath, hitting the brakes again, undoing his seatbelt, getting out of the car, and walking straight to the back. He opened the door and forcibly pulled Lila Qin out.
The little one wasn't prepared for this and stumbled, falling to the ground.
The driver, seething with anger, watched the scene without intervening.
However, the next moment, something happened that made him freeze with fear.
Lila Qin's body seemed to float and sway as if someone had lifted her into the air.
"Miss, don't do this, Lila is fine," Lila Qin patted the air in front of her, then turned to make a funny face at the driver. "The little sister says she's leaving soon. There's a piggy bank under her bed in her room, and there's money in it for you to buy a birthday gift. She hopes you'll use it yourself."
The driver exclaimed, "How do you know about this?"
A few months ago, while arranging his daughter's funeral, he had indeed found a piggy bank under her bed.
This little girl wasn't lying; could she really see his daughter's ghost?
Thinking of his obedient but now deceased daughter, the driver couldn't hold back anymore. He knelt on the ground and wept bitterly. "Miss, no, little fairy, can you see my daughter? How is she doing now? Is she okay? Can you let me see her?"
Lila Qin was a young child and, due to her various experiences, had a temperament like her ancestors. She had been quite upset by the driver's earlier rudeness and had prepared several "little gifts" to give to him. However, seeing the driver, who was at an advanced age, crying so heartbreakingly, she softened.
Covering her chubby cheeks, the little girl turned shyly. "Lila isn't a little fairy. Uncle, please don't say that. Lila would be embarrassed."
However, the excited look in her big eyes revealed that she was pleased to be addressed this way.
The driver simply knocked his head a few times, "Little Fairy, please, let me see my daughter."
Lila Qin dared not play around anymore and quickly reached out with her chubby hand to stop the driver.
"Alright, I was actually here to fulfill the little sister's wish, and she also wants to see you."
Her chubby little hand gestured in the air, and her chubby cheeks quivered.
The driver suddenly felt a cold sensation pass over his eyelids. When he regained his senses, he could see his daughter standing a few meters away.
His daughter was still wearing her school uniform, with two braids, looking at him with tears in her eyes.
The father and daughter hugged each other, weeping.
In their conversation, Lila Qin learned that the driver's daughter had been attending school in the countryside and had accidentally drowned three months ago.
"Accidentally?" Lila Qin asked.
The little sister cried, "It wasn't an accident. I was pulled underwater by a water ghost. Dad, can you help me seek revenge?"
Upon hearing this, Lila Qin became unhappy. She dashed over to the two, pointing her chubby finger at the little sister's chubby cheeks. "Wasn't it a request to Lila?"
The little sister hesitated for a moment and immediately changed her tone, "Yes, it was a request to Master Lila. Please help me seek revenge."
At the same time, a voice sounded in Lila Qin's head.
[Divine Calculation System: Host, please complete the task assigned by Emily Gao.]
[Time Limit: Three days.]
[Reward: Unlock the Divine Healing skill - Miraculous Recovery.]
"Wow, it's a divine healing skill," Lila Qin communicated with the system in her mind, "Little System, why don't you continue upgrading Kung Fu King's skills?"
[Divine Calculation System: Do you realize it took you four years to upgrade Kung Fu King to level 100? Do you want to dominate the world with brute force?]
The chubby-headed Lila Qin shook her head again and again, indicating she had no intention of arguing with the Little System. Instead, she asked for more details from Emily Gao and then requested the driver to take her back.
"Lila needs to go home first and say hello to Dad and my brothers before going to the countryside."
"Of course, I'll take Little Fairy home right away!"
The driver got up, stepped on the gas pedal, and sped off.
However, when they arrived at the Qin family, only the butler was there to welcome them.
The butler was taken aback when he saw the chubby, fair-skinned little girl.
Was this really their young miss, looking so healthy and lively?
"Hello, Mr. Butler."
Lila Qin greeted him very politely, with a soft voice, "Can you tell me where my dad and brothers are? I need to find them."
The butler regained his composure and immediately felt awkward.
"Uh, well, young miss, let me take you to your room to rest first."
Lila Qin's chubby face pouted slightly, seemingly annoyed.
Then her face returned to normal, and she muttered softly, "They probably don't like Lila, but that's okay. Lila doesn't like them either. Hm!"
Saying that, Lila Qin walked out with her short little legs.
However, she bumped into a pair of long legs head-on.
"Ah, Lila's nose hurts!"
Rubbing her nose, Lila Qin took a few steps back and raised her head, then raised her head even higher to get a clear look at this imposing figure blocking her way.
It was a handsome young man who appeared to be in his twenties. He had sharp brows and starry eyes, but his face was stern and cold, and his eyes were icy as he looked at her.
The butler, seeing this situation, felt that things were going south. Young Master Peter Qin had returned at just the wrong time.
The butler knew Peter Qin's temperament well. He seemed imposing but actually relied heavily on his mother. Since his mother almost died giving birth to the young miss, he had grown to dislike her even more. Over the years, with his mother bedridden, he had come to resent his little sister even more.
The butler was about to intervene when he heard Lila Qin's childish voice, "Big brother, there's a female ghost following you!"
The driver shuddered upon hearing this.
Those who have seen it would believe it, and those who haven't seen it would naturally get angry.
The butler quickly tried to stop Lila Qin, "Young miss, don't speak nonsense."
Peter Qin, on the other hand, stared coldly at the sister he hadn't seen in four years.
Chubby and fair, full of energy - it was clear that she had been well taken care of by the Taoists in the temple. She was fine, but their mother was critically ill, and life was just so unfair.
"Members of the Qin family should behave properly," Peter Qin strode past Lila Qin and instructed the butler, "Please arrange etiquette lessons for her."
After saying that, Peter Qin headed toward his study, and no one asked him any questions. However, he answered on his own, "I'm coming back to get a document."
The little girl, ignored and scorned, was so angry that she put her hands on her hips and glared at Peter Qin, her eyes welling up with tears.
The butler was very troubled. Before Peter Qin left the study, he quickly led Lila Qin to the room prepared for her on the second floor. On the way, they passed by the rooms of her three biological brothers.
"This is the room of the eldest young master. He doesn't like anyone entering his room or touching his things. Please remember that, young miss."
Lila Qin pouted, her chubby little hands crossed in front of her chest, remaining silent.
After the butler left, she peeked out of her room and tiptoed to Peter Qin's room.
If someone were to look into Lila Qin's eyes right now, they would see a red-clad female ghost reflected in her pupils.
"Dare to follow my big brother, you're asking for trouble!"
With that, Lila Qin extended her chubby hand, threw out a talisman, and began chanting, "Loud and proud, the sun rises in the east... Break the seventh, use it to subdue the Vajra, suppress the monsters..."
Just as she was about to finish the chant and the talisman was about to hit the red-clad female ghost, a cold voice suddenly sounded from behind.
"What are you doing?"
