chapter 3 The essence of human beings is really fragrant

Lila Qin's chanting stopped abruptly. As the ghost took advantage to escape, the talisman floated down from the air and, by sheer coincidence, landed on Peter Qin's leather shoe.
Peter Qin's expression grew even darker. He bent down to pick up the charm, sneering, "You spent four years in that Taoist temple, and all you've learned are these cheap tricks?"
Lila Qin felt a bit guilty at first, but when she heard his mocking tone, she immediately became angry.
"Lila is not lying! There really was a red-dressed ghost following you! She even had a bracelet just like yours!"
Before she could finish her sentence, Lila Qin widened her eyes.
The red-clad ghost, who had escaped earlier, unexpectedly returned and, after having her identity exposed, became furious. She pounced directly at the stupefied Peter Qin.
"Big brother, be careful!"
In her haste, Lila Qin took out a jade gourd and chanted rapidly, commanding, "Seal!"
In an instant, Peter Qin felt a chilling breeze pass by, and his animal-like instincts prompted him to dodge to the side.
The chilling sensation dissipated almost instantly. When Peter Qin looked again, he saw a hint of red disappearing into the jade gourd.
Lila Qin tucked away the jade gourd and yelled at him, "You big dummy!"
She rushed back into her room, slamming the door behind her. Leaning against it, she muttered, "Little System, it seems like they don't really want me here. Should I not have come back?"
[Divine Calculation System: Then do you want to come back?]
The four-and-a-half-year-old girl hung her head, remaining silent.
The Divine Calculation System sighed.
[Divine Calculation System: Anyway, stay at home for a while, if you don't like it, we'll live somewhere else, you have money and a house.]
"Yeah, that's right." The little one raised her head, displaying stubbornness on her face. Only her eyes revealed a sense of sadness, like an abandoned kitten. "Lila doesn't care about them. I just come back to see Mom!"
Peter Qin was holding the talisman in his hand and walked downstairs with a cold face. Suddenly, a phone call came in.
After the call connected, the voice of his twin brother came from the other end, sounding nonchalant. "You've always had a sharp tongue but a soft heart. You must have gone back to see that little girl, haven't you? How is it?"
Staring at the strange patterned talisman in his hand, Peter Qin suppressed his emotions and replied, "I'm going to dismantle the Clearwater Temple."
"Huh? What are you talking about? Forget it, you don't like her, and for me, I've got a new toy. But I won't be able to make it until tomorrow."
The phone was hung up.
Peter Qin placed his phone back in his pocket, and suddenly, he felt a burning sensation in his fingers as he held the talisman. When he looked down, he discovered that the yellow paper with cinnabar ink had turned into ashes.
It gave him a strange feeling that the talisman had protected him from some disaster just now.
"Could it be," Peter Qin felt like his worldview was being reshaped, "she wasn't lying just now? There really was a female ghost? And she saved me?"
Despite his confusion, he refused to go back and ask Lila Qin. Instead, he left the house.
Meanwhile, Lila Qin remained in her room for a while, feeling a little down. She had heard from her master before returning home that the Qin family didn't like her and considered her a jinx, so she was mentally prepared for it.
"Anyway, I came back to save Mom. I don't need them to like me!"
With a huff, she vented her frustration to the empty room. Dressed in her Taoist robe, Lila Qin went downstairs and found the driver. "Uncle, let's go. I'll go to the countryside with you."
The driver was eager to get rid of the water ghost that had harmed his daughter, so he immediately took Lila Qin with him, forgetting to inform the butler.
As for the Qin family's servants, they had already understood Lila Qin's status after seeing how Peter Qin treated her. No one paid much attention to this suddenly reappeared little miss.
They chose to ignore her, and Lila Qin was free to leave without any hindrance.
An hour and a half later, the arrived at the nearest rural area of Chu City.
After getting out of the car, Lila Qin, holding a money sword longer than her own body, staggered towards a river.
The driver nervously followed behind. "Little Fairy, is my daughter still there? I want to talk to her."
The four-and-a-half-year-old girl had a stern expression and educated him in a soft voice, "Life and death are fated, and the realms of the living and the dead are separate. She followed you for three months, which was already detrimental to your condition. Meeting her again would only make you weaker."
The driver pleaded, "It's okay; I just want to see her. She's my only daughter!"
Lila Qin turned her head and addressed the empty air, "Uncle says he wants to see you again. What do you think?"
"Oh, the young sister doesn't want to. Uncle, please take care."
The driver wiped away his tears.
"Well," Lila Qin sighed like a little adult, her round face making her look quite mature, "you adults always make children worry. Forget it, I'll give you a talisman. This talisman will allow you to be in contact with your daughter for three days, and after that, your daughter must leave."
The driver expressed his deep gratitude.
Ignoring the father and daughter, Lila Qin held her money sword and approached a riverbank, step by step.
"The ghostly aura here is so strong. How many people has this water ghost harmed?"
[Divine Calculation System: Ten, otherwise the reward after you get rid of it won't be so high.]
Lila Qin became furious upon hearing this. "Master Qin is going to take action now. I'll get rid of this wretched ghost!"
However, what others witnessed was a little girl wielding a sword taller than herself, dancing strangely by the riverbank, and strangely enough, it looked kind of cute.
Several cars were parked on the riverbank.
A few people gathered around Peter Qin and introduced the development plans for this area.
"Mr. Qin, look at this location. It's perfect for a vacation resort."
"Yes, as long as you invest in this project..."
Peter Qin was somewhat absent-minded.
In fact, today was the first time he had ever seen his sister.
When she was born, he was already 16 years old and had started helping out in the company. Hearing that his mother and sister were in critical condition, he was worried, but his grandmother prevented him from visiting them.
Not only that, his grandmother said that his sister had a doomed fate, being a jinx, and her presence would bring harm to them.
He couldn't approach his mother and sister until six months later when his sister was sent away. He was finally allowed to see his mother, who lay in bed on the verge of death. He couldn't help but harbor resentment towards his sister.
The more he resented, the more he cared.
Until today, when he learned that his sister was returning, he even contemplated giving her a hard time. However, when those big watery eyes looked at him, his heart softened.
He just softened his heart for a while, what's the use of being cute? She was still so unruly.
"Mr. Qin, Mr. Qin?"
Peter Qin snapped back to reality, about to speak when his gaze landed on the riverbank.
Who else but Lila Qin would be the one with only three heads tall, holding a sword and bouncing around by the river?
He saw Lila Qin stumble, almost falling into the river, and the nearest adult was talking to the air in the distance.
Peter Qin inwardly sneered. Indeed, she was an unruly person. Only a wild child would run to such a dirty and chaotic riverbank. If she fell into the river for real, she would deserve it.
As he thought this, an image suddenly flashed in his mind: Lila Qin shouting "danger" at him.
The little girl, who was less than half his height, was extremely anxious. Her grape-like big eyes were full of worry, and without hesitation, she took out a jade gourd.
The eerie chill and the fleeting red figure, combined with the talisman that self-immolated into ashes, all indicated that perhaps Lila Qin had just saved him.
"Forget it," Peter Qin took a deep breath, pushed aside the people around him, and walked toward the riverbank. "Consider it payback to her."
