The guard said irritably, "What do you do? I haven't seen you before."
"Oh, I'm here to see your CEO, Mabel."
"Seeing our CEO?" The guard glanced at him. "Didn't I just say? Our CEO isn't seeing any visitors."
"How did that guy just go in then?"
"Can you compare yourself to him?" The guard looked impatient. "He's Young Master Bal, Griffin. He has a status and a family background. What do you have? Go on, don't bother me!"
Ulric frowned slightly. This gatekeeper was acting tough...
"Alright then, could you do me a favor and pass a message to her? Just tell her that someone named Ulric stopped by."
The guard didn't take his words seriously.
In the CEO's office at that moment, Mabel stared frostily at the handsome Griffin.
Griffin, the eldest son of the Bald Family, took advantage of his father Zpher's influence in the real estate industry to behave recklessly and harm many girls. But since meeting Mabel, he had changed his ways, focusing on trying to befriend her. However, Mabel was not interested at all.
Looking at the goddess-like figure in front of him, Griffin forced a smile as he handed her the flowers. "Mabel, I... I happened to pass by and thought I'd come see you."
Mabel didn't take the flowers. Instead, she said coldly, "Griffin, how many times do I have to tell you? Stop bothering me. Can't you understand my words?"
"Mabel, I..."
"You should go back. From now on, don't do this anymore. And another thing, I already have a boyfriend, so give up on me."
Griffin: "..."
He couldn't believe what Mabel said, but he also knew that Mabel was not someone who would talk nonsense. His face turned ugly. "Who... who is he? Where is he?"
"It's none of your business. Now leave!"
"Mabel..."
"You're still not leaving?"
Seeing her displeased, Griffin looked down at the flowers in his hand and said in a somewhat negotiating tone, "What about these flowers?"
"Take them, I don't need them."
This attitude...
Griffin was very unhappy, and as he left, he couldn't help but express his determination, "Mabel, I know you don't like me, but I won't give up. As for your so-called boyfriend, I won't believe it until I see him in person."
Feeling frustrated, Mabel, who was already bothered by Ulric's matter, now had to deal with Griffin's occasional provocations, making her feel even more troubled.
Thinking of Ulric, who hadn't shown up yet, she wondered if he was still at the Dun Residence.
But wait...
How could Wilma, a bumpkin, know him?
Mabel was puzzled by this.
Their identities were so different, there was no way they could have any connection.
Yet when Wilma showed up at her house in the morning, they seemed to be quite friendly, with no sense of unfamiliarity.
The more Mabel thought about it, the more annoyed she became, so she decided to ignore it.
Little did she know, Ulric had already been there, but he was stopped by the guard.
Meanwhile, Ulric was leaving Flores Group to return to the countryside when the appearance of a man made him stop in his tracks.
The man was none other than the human trafficker from last night, Weasel.
Today, he was blocking the road, seeking revenge.
"Kid, remember me?"
Ulric frowned slightly. "You weren't caught?"
"Heh, catching me? It's not that easy. I've done this kind of thing many times. But what about you, meddling in other people's business? How do you plan to settle this?"
As Weasel spoke, three men approached from behind Ulric, their thuggish appearance causing pedestrians to avoid them.
"Kid, you were so bold last night. Where do you think you're running off to today?"
Ulric glanced back and then calmly looked at Weasel. "Looks like you're here for revenge."
"That's right! Blocking my money path, neither you nor that stinky woman can escape."
"But if you're sensible and willing to compensate with money, I'm not unreasonable," said Weasel.
"Oh? How much do you want?"
Seeing him speak like this, Weasel thought he was scared. He grinned and held up five fingers. "This much!"
"Oh, five hundred?"
Five hundred?
Weasel's smile froze. "You think I'd only make five hundred for selling a woman? Do you underestimate me?"
"Then five thousand?"
Weasel's mouth twitched. "It's fifty thousand! Fifty thousand, got it?"
Seeing his frenzied demeanor, Ulric scratched his nose and said, "Fifty thousand, huh? Actually, that's not a lot."
"Not a lot? Then bring it to me!"
"I don't have money!"
Weasel's face darkened. "Are you messing with me? Here's the deal today: if you don't give money, don't think about leaving."
The three men behind him stepped forward, but Ulric wasn't afraid. Instead, he advised, "You guys should leave. I don't want trouble."
"You little brat, I'm giving you face?" Seeing he didn't know his place, Weasel scolded his three companions, "Come on, give him a good beating."
The three were skilled fighters and thought it would be easy to deal with the slender Ulric, but they ended up being knocked down by him instead.
Weasel was furious on the side, rubbing his arms and cursing, "Kid if you've got guts, tell me who you are."
"There's nothing I can't tell you. My name is Ulric."
"Alright, alright, you block my money and beat my people, just wait, this isn't over. Let's go!"
Watching their resentful departure, Ulric furrowed his brow slightly. It wasn't a big deal for him; after all, he was leaving Yorkvichill City. But it was different for Mabel.
Although the Flores Family was influential, people like Weasel might not give a face to the Flores Family. If there was a little trouble along the way, Mabel would be the one unlucky enough to be harmed.
After some thought, Ulric decided to stay temporarily. It wouldn't hurt to resolve Mabel's issue first before leaving.
Back at Bloomfield Boulevard, Ulric squatted at the gate waiting for Mabel until the sun was about to set, and Mabel leisurely walked over.
"You're back, Bro Ulric, Miss Flores is back!"
The guard saw Mabel from afar and hurriedly informed Ulric.
Ulric glanced over and saw the woman looking quite relaxed, swinging her bag, seemingly unaware of the trouble that was about to come.
As she approached, Ulric walked over. Mabel paused for a moment, then asked coldly, "What are you doing here?"
"Waiting for you!"
"Waiting for me?" Mabel frowned slightly. "Didn't I tell the guard to tell you to meet me at my workplace? Didn't he tell you?"
The guard was scared and hurriedly explained, "Miss... Miss Flores, I did, but he came back and said he was waiting for you here."
Ulric scratched his nose and said, "I went there, but I was stopped by your guard. I had no choice but to come back and wait for you here."
Mabel understood now. No wonder she hadn't seen him all day; that's what happened.
Seeing his attire, Mabel didn't want to talk outside, so she took him back to her place.
Ulric felt a bit awkward. Being alone with a woman could be inconvenient at times, but he couldn't just leave her alone.
"So, why did she ask you to go to the Dun Family? How do you know her?"
Mabel slipped on her shoes, casually tossed her bag aside, and without even glancing at him, walked straight towards the sofa.
