Going back to the hideout was one of the hardest things that I had to do. Throughout our long walk, Talia and I didn’t speak to each other. I couldn’t, even if I wanted to. My heart and mind was closed to anything. No outside stimulus could penetrate it, though my instinct of survival and protecting the princess was very much alive.
Reaching the house, I went straight to the sofa, sinking on it with a heavy heart. Talia did the same. To think that Van slept here a few hours ago...
