"Savior!"
"Savior!"
Daffodil rushed out of the Stretch Lincoln and hurried across the street.
But the street ahead was empty, with no sign of that person's figure.
She slowed down.
"Sis Daffodil, what's wrong?" Fanix followed.
Daffodil looked at the empty street. "I thought I just saw that person... Maybe I was mistaken."
She shook her head and sat back in the car.
The Stretch Lincoln slowly started and left Ham City High School.
...
The next day, the weather was clear and refreshing.
The birthday party of the Evans Miss was held at a five-star hotel near Fiddler Mountain in Ham City.
The hotel, named Grace Residence, was located on the outskirts of Ham City, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with a very serene environment, which was well-deserving of the name "Grace Residence."
Outside Grace Residence, luxury cars filled the parking lot. BMWs and Mercedes were nothing special, and even Maybachs and Lamborghinis were visible, not to mention Rolls-Royces, which were as common as cabbages.
After all, it was the birthday party of the Evans Miss, so it was perfectly normal for so many dignitaries to come to congratulate her.
Heaven Corporation was also invited, and Delfina came along with Verruckt.
"Mr. Delfina, please."
Upon arrival, Verruckt respectfully invited Delfina to get out of the car. Even when entering the hotel, he let Delfina take half a step ahead.
Without any surprises, the two entered the hotel smoothly. After all, Verruckt was also a top tycoon in Ham City. No security guard with eyes would dare to stop them. However, they all thought that Delfina, who was walking ahead, was Verruckt's driver.
"Mr. Delfina, Evans Pharmaceutical is one of the pharmaceutical giants in the Southern Province, controlled by the Evans Group, with extensive connections and a considerable reputation, known as the first noble family in the Southern Province."
"The Evans Group has many descendants, with Eddy as the eldest and Hawkis as the second, both of whom are outstanding individuals. Today's Evans Miss, Daffodil, is the eldest daughter of Eddy's lineage."
"It is rumored that this Miss Daffodil is clever-minded and controls a company that has made billions for the Evans Group, and it seems she also practices Ancient Martial Arts..."
Verruckt kept whispering and introducing the situation of the Evans family. When he mentioned Ancient Martial Arts, he paused for a moment and looked at Delfina, who had been calm all along, with some concern. "Mr. Delfina, do you know about Ancient Martial Arts? It is said that there is a special group of people in this world who possess extraordinary power, but I have never seen them... I don't know if it's true or not. If it is, then the Evans family is even more formidable."
His meaning was obvious, he wanted Delfina to see the reality.
He always thought Delfina was a business genius, so he could see through things. Three years ago, when Delfina helped him, he was very grateful and willing to assist Delfina. But he didn't believe Delfina could match the Evans family. What Delfina said before, like "The Evans will be used by me to create brilliance or hindered by me to enter the Nine Underworlds," Verruckt felt Delfina was exaggerating.
The two were about to enter the hall. Delfina glanced at him, smiling mysteriously. "I know what you want to say. Don't worry, I have self-awareness. Few people in the world can match me."
"Well, I'm here today mainly to protect someone. As for the Evans, it's just incidental. Let's split up and take action."
Verruckt didn't say much more, nodding repeatedly. "Yes."
Watching Verruckt leave, Delfina shook his head. "His vision is still too short."
With his hands behind his back, Delfina walked into the hall.
Grace Residence was lavishly decorated. Looking around, the hall was splendid, filled with men in suits and women in elegant dresses. Almost all of them were elite figures and upper-class individuals. There were also many teenagers around Delfina's age, dressed in luxurious attire, brought by their parents to broaden their horizons.
These people had their circles, large and small, gathered together, making the atmosphere lively.
Amid the lively scene, there was a sudden quietness for a moment because Delfina appeared.
"Delfina?"
"How did he come?"
It was Nagnoloa who exclaimed. She was chatting with Hibiscus and some other friends when she suddenly saw Delfina.
Hibiscus brightened up and ran over to him. "Brother Delfina, you're here too!"
"Yeah, I'm here too."
Delfina smiled gently, looking at Hibiscus in her close-fitting dress, which accentuated her delicate figure, long slender legs, and graceful exposed shoulders. Her black straight hair cascaded beside her ears, truly deserving of the title of the campus belle.
"You look beautiful today," Delfina complimented her.
Hibiscus blushed. "Thank you."
"Delfina, what are you doing here!"
Nagnoloa rushed over in high heels. She was also wearing a dress, with her long legs clad in thin black stockings, slightly revealing some flesh tone. The light blue chiffon dress tightly wrapped around her, highlighting her perfect figure.
This girl's figure didn't look like that of a seventeen or eighteen-year-old.
Nagnoloa grabbed Delfina's arm and pulled him to a corner. "How did you get in here?"
Delfina pulled away from her grip and replied casually, "I walked in with my feet, of course."
"Impossible!"
Nagnoloa frowned. "Unauthorized personnel can't get in!"
"You think I'm unauthorized?" Delfina looked at her.
Nagnoloa's eyes showed a hint of disdain. "Aren't you? What's your status? How could you attend this birthday party?"
"I see, you snuck in secretly!"
Nagnoloa suddenly realized, then became angry and worried, mixing her concern and anger. "You're too bold! You should know that everyone attending today's birthday party is influential in Ham City and even in the Southern Province. Even I'm cautious. What if you offend someone!"
Delfina frowned. "I told you not to be so presumptuous. Can't you understand?"
Nagnoloa paused, then became angry. Before she could erupt, Hibiscus quickly came out to mediate, pulling Nagnoloa's arm. "Let's do this, Brother Delfina, you stay here and eat, and leave after the party is over."
"Okay."
Delfina didn't say anything else. He casually took a plate of lobster and slowly started eating. As long as he protected Hibiscus, Nagnoloa's nagging was just like a fly buzzing around.
Not far from Delfina, there were several men and women gathered together.
"Who's that kid?"
A girl in a black evening dress spoke, her eyes full of confusion. She was Merlin, one of the three campus belles alongside Hibiscus and Nagnoloa, and also Nagnoloa's close friend.
"Who else could it be? It's the country bumpkin who accused Mr. Fanix at the school gate before!"
Bernard was also in this circle, sneering. "How could Hibiscus choose him over Mr. Fanix? Wearing cheap clothes, he's even worse than my housekeeper!"
The circle started discussing, all looking down on Delfina as an ignorant country boy.
Merlin tightened her dress when she heard "cheap clothes." This evening dress cost thirty thousand, and she had saved up for a rich guy for a long time to buy it.
And a thirty-thousand-dollar evening dress was probably nothing to the men and women attending this dinner tonight.
She was one of the campus belles alongside Hibiscus and Nagnoloa.
But except for Nagnoloa, her family background was not much better than Hibiscus's. It's just that she was good at using her beauty and easily mingled among the rich playboys.
But to marry a wealthy husband, she always kept her bottom line and sold herself at the right price.
Merlin had always secretly envied Nagnoloa and looked down on Hibiscus's aloofness.
"Merlin?"
Someone called her.
Merlin immediately came to her senses and quickly joined in the conversation, echoing their words. "Has Hibiscus lost her mind, choosing him instead of Mr. Fanix?"
In her opinion, Hibiscus, who came from a poor background, was foolish and had a bad mind to refuse Fanix.
She had no money or power, yet she still pretended to be aloof.
If it weren't for Fanix's lack of interest in her, Merlin would have climbed up to him long ago.
"Don't mention Mr. Fanix. This Delfina is far inferior to Mr. Frenetos," Bernard continued.
"Hmph!"
A heavy snort came from another man's nose.
Frenetos stood aside, looking unhappy because Bernard's words implied that he couldn't match Fanix.
But if he couldn't match Fanix, what was Delfina? How could he be so close to Hibiscus?
Frenetos said coldly, "I'll go inform Mr. Fanix."
Seeing Frenetos leave, the group looked at each other, all seeming to anticipate some drama.
