"Hehe, you don't have an invitation, so you sneaked in!" Fanix laughed arrogantly, looking down at Delfina as if he were seeing a cockroach.
"Manager Doyle, it seems that your security measures at Grace Residence are not up to par if just anyone can sneak in."
Manager Doyle's face changed drastically, sweat breaking out on his forehead. He angrily interrogated Delfina, "Speak! How did you get in without an invitation?"
He was the lobby manager of Grace Residence and was in charge of the Evans Miss's birthday party today. The higher-ups had repeatedly emphasized not to make any mistakes, yet now someone had sneaked in!
If something went wrong, it wouldn't just be his job at stake!
Possibly his life!
Delfina remained unperturbed. "How did I get in? Naturally, I walked in."
Verruckt led the way ahead, and he followed. Who would dare to trouble him?
Fanix sneered, "Alright, forget how he got in."
"Now that he doesn't have an invitation, he might be a dangerous character."
"Manager Doyle, you should have a protocol for dealing with dangerous individuals. Follow the protocol."
Manager Doyle immediately understood. "Understood, understood. Someone, break his legs and drag him out!"
Dangerous individuals were indeed dangerous. Using force to subdue them was normal.
"Hahaha, I guessed right!"
Merlin, not far away, laughed triumphantly, her eyes contemptuous. "Break his legs! A country bumpkin like him, how dare he come to Grace Residence and act like he's the best, arrogant and ignorant."
Nagnoloa's face turned pale at this moment, anxiously and angrily exclaiming, "Enough, look at this! Making a fool of yourself is one thing, but you're going to get your legs broken! Delfina, are you out of your mind?"
Hibiscus also chimed in, "Brother Delfina, what should we do..."
"Why are you all in such a hurry? I haven't finished speaking yet."
Delfina spoke again, casually, "I don't have an invitation on me, but someone else does."
He was too composed. Manager Doyle was suddenly alarmed. "Who has it?"
"Verruckt."
Delfina stated directly. He had come in with Verruckt earlier, who had the invitation since he was the one doing the job. It was only natural for Delfina not to carry it.
"Verruckt? Which Verruckt?"
"You don't know Verruckt, he's the CEO of Heaven Corporation and also the richest man in Ham City."
"He's the richest man in Ham City!"
"That's a big shot..."
The onlookers buzzed with discussion. Nagnoloa and Hibiscus were stunned, finding it unbelievable. How could Delfina know Verruckt?
Was he making it up?
Meanwhile, Manager Doyle hesitated. He didn't know if Delfina's words were true or false. If he belonged to Verruckt, kicking him out would also cause trouble.
"Hehe, Verruckt?" Fanix spoke up, "I don't believe a country bumpkin would have any connection with Mr. Goodrich. Manager Doyle, whether it's true or not, just ask Mr. Goodrich and you'll find out."
Manager Doyle slapped his forehead. "Mr. Fanix is right, I'll have someone ask."
The VIP lounge of Grace Residence was not directly connected to the lobby. Those with higher status and more power were arranged to gather in the VIP lounge, while the lobby was mostly occupied by lower-status individuals and younger generations.
Before long, the person sent out hurried back, reporting that there was no Verruckt in the VIP lounge. They had searched all around but couldn't find anyone named Verruckt.
Fanix added, "It seems this kid saw that Mr. Goodrich wasn't here today, so he casually used his name as a cover."
Delfina furrowed his brow slightly. Where had Verruckt gone?
Manager Doyle coldly chuckled. "Do you have anything else to say?"
"My invitation is indeed with Verruckt."
Delfina looked at Manager Doyle and calmly said, "Are you sure you want to kick me out?"
"When Verruckt comes back and finds out I've been kicked out by you, the consequences, I'm afraid, you won't be able to bear."
Manager Doyle became somewhat angry upon hearing this. "Enough! I don't have time to play house with you!"
"Someone, come quickly!"
Manager Doyle felt that Delfina was being stubborn and immediately shouted, "Grab this kid for me!"
"Daring to cause trouble at Grace Residence, grab him and break his legs, teach him a lesson!"
Many people in the crowd were now looking at this young man with amusement, feeling no pity for him, just finding him ridiculous.
In this world, there are always people trying every means to enter high society, deliberately sneaking in, and attempting to climb up, but fakes will always be exposed. The guy caught red-handed today would soon taste the bitter fruit of his actions.
Frenetos was thoroughly enjoying himself, while Merlin was also watching with amusement.
Only Nagnoloa's face was not looking good; she simultaneously resented Delfina's lack of sense and status.
Hibiscus wanted to save him, holding Fanix's hand, but Fanix was very proud, looking at Delfina with a cold smile. "Kid, are you still feeling arrogant now?"
"Arrogance requires capital. You, like mud on the bottom of a shoe, what entitles you to arrogance? Hehe, I'm telling you to get lost now, so you better scram! I want your two legs, and you have to give them to me!"
Manager Doyle called out again, "Where are the people? Security! Get him dragged out! I want both his legs broken!"
Meanwhile, Delfina stood cold and indifferent in place, neither humble nor noisy.
As if the surrounding mockery, smugness, and disdain were all passing clouds, unable to touch him in the slightest.
Clattering sounds as a group of security guards pulled out their batons.
They rushed toward Delfina, fierce and malevolent.
The laughter from the onlookers grew louder, with some even taking out their phones to capture the scene of Delfina being apprehended in a sorry state.
Just then, a voice suddenly rang out, "Wait!"
"Who dares to touch him!"
"Stop!"
As the security guards were about to grab Delfina, someone stepped in to stop them.
The crowd looked in the direction of the voice and saw a graceful figure hurrying down the spiraling staircase.
The person was a young girl, dressed in a pure white off-shoulder gown. Delicate collarbones peeked through, and the hem of the dress slightly opened, revealing a pair of slender, white legs. The skirt was adorned with diamonds, sparkling like morning dew.
"Who is this girl, doesn't she know her place, how dare she come to defend Delfina?"
Merlin complained from a corner of the crowd.
"Idiot! Shut up!"
Frenetos's face changed, and he hissed heavily, glaring at her, "Don't you know who she is!"
"Who?" Merlin naturally didn't recognize her and felt a bit wronged by Frenetos's rebuke.
"Today's birthday party host! Miss Daffodil!"
With these words from Frenetos, Merlin's face instantly turned pale.
Forgive her for not recognizing Miss Daffodil.
After all, Merlin's family background was average, making it difficult for her to come into contact with upper-class figures.
But the two words "Miss Daffodil" she understood.
Today's birthday party host is Miss Daffodil!
The girl in the white dress is none other than Daffodil.
