chapter 12 Security ===

by Luke 18:01,Jan 09,2024
When she got up the next day, Fiona saw that her son was still wearing the same clothes as when he came back. She secretly blamed herself for being confused and not thinking of buying new clothes for her son.
Afterward, Dunstan's parents took him out to shop for new clothes.
They only went to stalls by the roadside to buy some cheap clothes.
Fiona was working as a janitor and her monthly income was insignificant. She was usually reluctant to buy herself new clothes.
If it wasn't for Dunstan's return, she wouldn't have been willing to spend so much money on clothes.
Besides, if Dunstan's parents knew that their son was rich, their jaws would drop in surprise.
Dunstan could go to a large shopping mall to buy some branded clothes, but he wouldn't know how to explain to his parents how he got so much money.
He couldn't tell them it was the commission he got from killing when he was working as a mercenary abroad.
After returning from the shopping trip, Dunstan's cabinet was filled with the clothes he bought at the roadside stalls.
Dunstan wasn't concerned about the clothes' origin. After all, he just needed something to wear, and the clothes were something his parents wanted him to have. Although the clothes were cheap, he was extremely happy wearing them.
On this day, despite Dunstan's continuous persuasion against opening the fruit stall, Rick still went to set up his business.
Dunstan was bored and accompanied his father to manage the stall.
The stall owners around seemed to have a good relationship with Rick.
Seeing an extra helper at the stall, the other stall owners couldn't help but ask him if he had found a new employee.
Rick was elated by the attention and took Dunstan around to introduce him to the neighboring stall owners as his son.
He looked proud when he was introducing Dunstan. It was as if his son had done something extraordinary. Even though Dunstan "had suffered" abroad over the years, he had at least been overseas before.
When the stall owners heard that Dunstan had returned from abroad, they all envied Rick for having such an outstanding son.
However, despite being surprised, some recognized Dunstan as the young man who single-handedly defeated a group of gangsters yesterday.
At that moment, they couldn't help but sigh.
As expected of someone who had been abroad, even his fighting skills were unparalleled.
To make his father happy, Dunstan started chatting with the neighboring stall owners, addressing them warmly as Aunts and Uncles. Within a short time, he had successfully melded into their group.
Some even held Dunstan's hand and asked if he was married. When they learned that he was still single, they were all eager to introduce their daughters to him.
Dunstan felt dumbfounded. He really wanted to clarify that they had been mistaken about what he did overseas and that he did not return with great achievements.
When Dunstan was helping Rick at the stall, Bianca came over with two bottles of red wine.
Later, Dunstan learned from his father that Bianca was aware of Fiona's high cholesterol. She would then deliver red wine to her every now and then, saying that red wine could help in lowering her cholesterol levels.
Moreover, the red wine she sent was not cheap, showing her sincerity towards Dunstan's family.
Due to the gangsters who messed up Rick's fruit stall the previous day, the stall was still in a mess. As such, Dunstan spent a long time tidying up the stall.
After Bianca arrived, she stored the red wine at one side and joined in tidying up the fruits.
After a long while, they had finally finished arranging the stall and sat down to rest.
Rick then peeled two apples and offered them to Dunstan and Bianca to enjoy.
When Dunstan noticed that Bianca looked hesitant to speak when she lowered her head to eat the apple, he flicked her forehead to tease her.
"It hurts! Why did you do that?" Bianca cried in pain as she subconsciously covered her forehead.
She then recalled their childhood when Dunstan used to tease her like this.
"I couldn't stop myself when I see you lost in thought," Dunstan replied casually as if what he did was normal.
Bianca felt annoyed by his reply. He must still regard her as the little girl who followed him everywhere he went.
"If you have anything to say, just say it. It's not like you to be hesitant," Dunstan said before taking a big bite from his apple.
"Well, I just wanted to ask about your plans for the future and what kind of job you'd want. After all, Rick and Fiona are getting older. You have to get a job and support them."
Bianca had stopped eating and was looking straight into Dunstan's eyes. She sounded serious when she asked her question.
Dunstan felt a little awkward.
He hadn't thought about what he would do after returning to the Red Dragon. He only returned because he missed his family.
Besides, fighting was his only forte.
Dunstan gave Bianca a somewhat self-deprecating smile.
She must have known he had no plans for the future.
After all, Dunstan had been wandering overseas for ten years and had finally saved up enough money to return to the Red Dragon. He must be penniless by now.
Little did Bianca know that with Dunstan's current influence, as long as he gave the word, countless forces would swarm to him and offer him huge sums of money. All to be in King Romo's good books.
However, Dunstan had already decided to forget all about the Hades Palace when he returned to the Red Dragon. He only wanted to live a simple life.
Just as Dunstan was daydreaming, Bianca spoke again.
"Dunstan, how about this? If you don't dislike the idea, why don't you come and work for our company?"
Dunstan was stunned, he didn't expect Bianca to make such a suggestion.
After all, he didn't expect Bianca to offer him a job when he had no expertise.
In fact, he was also curious to know if any company would agree to hire someone without expertise.
"Your company?" Dunstan asked snapping back to reality. "What does your company specialize in?"
"We are a domestic company that is at the forefront of manufacturing pharmaceuticals. I'm not sure if you have noticed when you were overseas, but many of our drugs are sold abroad. My company is called Hayes Pharmaceutical Group," Bianca explained.
Hayes Pharmaceutical Group.
Dunstan frowned. He couldn't help but think that the name sounded familiar. However, he couldn't remember where he had heard it.
Perhaps he had used some medicine from her company. Otherwise, he couldn't have found it familiar.
Dunstan smiled and replied, "If your company is at the forefront of the pharmaceutical industry, why would you recruit someone like me? I don't have the relevant skills for the job."
He was then dumbfounded by Bianca's next statement.
Bianca said solemnly, "I can use my connections in the company to get you into the security team."
Did she actually ask King Romo to be a security guard?
Dunstan's jaw almost dropped in shock. If word reached the ears of his subordinates, they would be shocked.
When he was abroad, countless people tried to hire King Romo with large sums of money but failed.
"What do you think?" Bianca Joyce asked in a low voice. "Your salary on probation will be two thousand five hundred. As long as you can become a full-time employee, your salary should increase to four or five thousand. If you continue for a few more years, you might even become a Captain. Six or seven thousand a month will not be a problem then."
