chapter 20 Long time no see ===

by Luke 18:01,Jan 09,2024
Under Kentaro's gaze, Dunstan left the company with Bianca in a highly unnatural manner.
On the way, Dunstan told Bianca about some incidents that happened at work. As he spoke, he felt something was off.
Normally, Bianca was the most talkative. What happened today?
Suddenly, she was so quiet. When things go awry, there must be a bad thing.
He stopped and looked at Bianca, "Are you okay? Are you feeling unwell somewhere?"
Bianca pursed her lips, looking at Dunstan with a complex expression. She said, "I saw online today that there was a disturbance at the Grand Palace last night, and the owner of the Grand Palace was beaten unconscious."
After speaking, Bianca stared at Dunstan's eyes intently, as if trying to see through him.
But Dunstan never showed too much intensity throughout.
Instead, he casually remarked, "Isn't the Grand Palace owned by the Lopez family?"
...
Could it be that I'm just overly suspicious?
Bianca frowned and said again, "Wasn't it you who did this?"
How could it be such a coincidence? Just after telling Dunstan about Miasma, he was beaten unconscious and sent to the hospital that same night.
To be honest, Bianca didn't really believe that Dunstan could break into the Grand Palace alone and beat Miasma in front of so many security guards. But everything was just too coincidental, so she had to suspect Dunstan.
Dunstan smiled slightly, ruffled Bianca's hair with his hand, and said with a smile, "Is it because of this that you've been ignoring me? That really breaks my heart."
Bianca blushed at Dunstan's words, lowered her head, and didn't speak again.
Dunstan continued, "You know nothing about Miasma's character. He must have offended many people with his temper, so it's normal for enemies to seek revenge. You can associate all of this with me. Do I look like such a powerful person to you?"
"Beat up Miasma that night and still be able to go to work with you without any trouble today."
With that said, it made some sense, finally dispelling Bianca's suspicions.
She breathed a long sigh of relief, still feeling lingering fear as she said, "As long as it's not you. The way you dealt with those thugs left a deep impression on me."
"Because of that, I've been restless at work today."
...
When did Dunstan become so powerful?
Dunstan didn't say, and Bianca didn't ask.
Dunstan smiled and said nothing. As the two prepared to cross the road, suddenly a black business car stopped in front of them.
Seeing the pitch-black windows, Dunstan, out of professional habit, instinctively pulled Bianca behind him.
...
Thinking it might be enemies seeking revenge, it wasn't surprising for Dunstan to have such thoughts.
After all, he had just beaten up Miasma last night, so it wasn't entirely impossible for Mr. Lopez to send someone to trouble him.
He didn't want Bianca to be implicated because of his issues.
However, when the window rolled down, a familiar face appeared.
"Long time no see, Bianca, and you, Dunstan. How have you been all these years?"
The person in the car took off their sunglasses and spoke slowly.
It was unexpectedly Amara, whom they hadn't seen for a long time.
It seemed she had somehow learned about Dunstan appearing in Chom City and couldn't wait to see these two old friends who hadn't seen each other in ten years.
Dunstan appeared very happy, while Bianca's expression seemed somewhat unnatural.
Because of Dunstan's disappearance back then, she had severed ties with Amara. Although she had forgiven Amara in the meantime, meeting again would inevitably be somewhat awkward.
"It has indeed been a long time. I almost didn't recognize you without your sunglasses. I thought you were some big celebrity," Dunstan joked, without feeling any estrangement due to their ten-year separation.
Seeing Dunstan still joking as he used to, Amara's worries dissipated.
She had summoned a lot of courage to come and see these two people.
After all, it was because of her that Dunstan had stabbed Miasma, and in the end, to avoid implicating them, he had run away from home. It was also because of this that her best friend, Bianca, had severed ties with her.
She had suddenly lost her two best friends. How could Amara not be regretful?
So finding Dunstan had become her lifelong mission.
Over the years, she had indeed mobilized the family's power, searched all over the country, and found no trace of Dunstan.
As long as she couldn't find Dunstan for a day, she didn't dare to come and see Bianca.
Now that Dunstan had returned safely, Amara finally dared to appear in front of Bianca.
Where Bianca lived, where she worked, and what position she held, no one knew better than her. It could be said that she had been keeping an eye on Bianca for the past ten years.
Even Bianca's ability to enter this "Hayes Pharmaceutical Group" immediately after graduating was because of her covert assistance.
Otherwise, without background and relationships, how could Bianca smoothly enter a dream company that others longed for?
"I'm saying, why are you two like this? It's supposed to be a happy reunion for old friends. Why aren't you both talking?" Dunstan looked at the two women, somewhat helpless.
He certainly didn't want these two girls' relationship to be strained because of him, so he tried hard to repair their relationship.
After all, in high school, Bianca really had a very good relationship with Amara, to the extent that they were once rumored to be "lesbians".
"Ah, Dunstan is right. You have indeed become much prettier than before. Your temperament almost surpasses those big celebrities," prompted by Dunstan, Bianca belatedly said.
...
Seeing Bianca finally speaking to her, Amara smiled and said, "Bianca, you're also getting more and more beautiful. Can I invite you both for a cup of coffee?"
Before Bianca could speak, Dunstan took the initiative to agree.
"Sure, I'm starving after a day's work. If there's free food, why not?"
With that, he opened the car door and pulled the still dazed Bianca into the car.
The three of them sat in the back seat, with Dunstan in the middle and the two women beside him, causing the driver to frequently glance at the rearview mirror.
Rarely had he seen the young miss of their family getting along so well with a man.
It must be noted that he had been Amara's dedicated driver for many years, and this was the first time he had seen Amara invite a man into her car.
Over the years, Amara had always been solitary, rarely seen getting close to anyone, and had no friends with whom she could share intimate conversations.
Now, seeing the young miss of their family chatting so warmly with two people she had never met before, the driver uncle was also very pleased.
