Chapter 14

Vivian's mind went blank.

How did Mrs. Moorsum… fall from the villa?

Panicked, she rushed downstairs without putting on her shoes.

There appeared another person on the lawn.

Florence knelt next to Mrs. Moorsum and felt her breath with a finger. Then, she revealed a sly smile. "You're late. She's dead."

"Florence White, it's you…"

Florence slowly stood up and stared at Vivian. "I forgot that this old woman watched you grow up and must have a preference for you."

"She couldn't stop your plan. Why did you kill her? She had nothing against you!"

"That's because she knew too much and saw what she shouldn't have seen." Florence chuckled. "I have no choice, do I?"

Vivian shook her head incredulously, "You're such a lunatic!"

Florence did not mind what Vivian said at all and grinned even wider, "I could sacrifice my own baby, let alone an old gardener."

Vivian felt a chill over her.

"Cirrus, hurry up! Vivian pushed Mrs. Moorsum down from the roof!"

She watched coldly as Florence told lies to Cirrus.

She could tell how furious Cirrus was from his roar on the phone.

After his parents died, it was Mrs. Moorsum who had been taking care of him. No one could replace her in his heart.

But now, she was dead.

She was pushed down from the roof of his own villa.

"Florence White, it's such a pity that you work in a 4S store. You know, you should be an actress, and I can assure you that you can win an Oscar."

Florence waved the phone in her hand and raised her brows with a chuckle, "Whatever, as long as this old woman is dead, there are no more witnesses to that car crash, and I'm still Cirrus's beloved woman."

Soon, Cirrus arrived.

He rushed out as soon as the car stopped with an abrupt turn, and was then dumbfounded at the sight of Mrs. Moorsum's body.

Florence walked over to hold his hand and whispered in a gentle tone, "Cirrus, this is too cruel for you. Mrs. Moorsum loved you so much that she wouldn't want you to see this…"

"S-te-la Wal-ker!"

Like a raging lion, Cirrus grabbed Vivian by the collar and lifted her up with all his might.

"Why? Tell me why!"

She closed her eyes, with her body swaying in mid-air. "Will you believe me if I say I didn't kill Mrs. Moorsum?"

"You tell me!"

"If I were you, I wouldn't believe it, either." She smiled wryly. "I live alone in the villa and like to watch the stars on the roof, so only I would push Mrs. Moorsum down, right?"

Cirrus clenched his teeth and glared at her with red eyes. "Tell me why, Vivian Walker! Why did you kill my parents and Mrs. Moorsum? How I wish I can dig out your heart and see whether it's black!"

"Calm down, Cirrus. Miss Walker must have done this for some reason…" Florence pretended to stop him anxiously. "Perhaps it was because you didn't watch the stars with her these two days that she got angry and… did this on impulse. I told you that Miss Walker is mentally unstable and we should be more tolerant of her…"

Cirrus looked into Vivian's eyes. "Is that so? Huh? Vivian Walker, you were revenged on me in this way just because I didn't watch the stars with you?"

Vivian smiled a bitter smile. A good actress like Florence would naturally prepare a reasonable motive for her scapegoat.

"Believe it or not," Vivian said, "I didn't kill Mrs. Moorsum."

"I have no trust in you."

"What do you want to do then?"

"I want to kill you!" The syllables were squeezed out from his teeth. "Vivian Walker, do you think I don't dare to kill you?"

Florence held his arm hurriedly. "Cirrus, stay calm. I can understand how Miss Walker feels. She loved you, she wanted to see you, and she wished to watch the stars with you. But you didn't come, so she could only threaten you in this way… Let go of her, please."

"Florence, you go first. You've just lost your baby and need a good rest. I'll go home after dealing with her."

"No, I'll stay. I'll be with you wherever you are."

"Be a good girl…"

What a gentle, loving tone!

A man always had two faces.

He could switch his faces in front of those they loved or resented, because he had a partial heart.

"Cirrus, are you really going to kill me?" Vivian asked in desperation.

"I've called the police," Cirrus replied. "Killing you will only smear my hands."

"The police will soon come, I guess." Vivian tapped his hand. "Let go of me first. I'm hungry."

Cirrus frowned deeply, with his eyes fixed on hers.

"Don't worry. I won't run away, 'cause the wontons Mrs. Moorsum made are still boiling in the pot. The police will arrive when I finish the meal."
