chapter 3 Back from prison!

by Palmyra 17:36,Nov 28,2023
The following day.
The grand doors of Empty Mountain Prison slowly opened.
"Boy, don't look back once you're out," the old prison guard at the gate advised. He said this to every released prisoner, but some still ended up coming back.
Abraham nodded, wearing the same outfit from when he was first imprisoned three years ago, noticeably smaller now, and its style quite outdated.
Walking forward with a light step, he knew no one would be there to pick him up.
There was one thing Abraham couldn't understand, why hadn't his parents visited him during his three years in prison?
After descending from the Soul Severing Mountain, the surroundings for hundreds of miles were desolate, but Abraham didn't mind.
Seeing a forest ahead, he walked straight in and quickly took off his t-shirt.
Any observer would be stunned.
Because the scars on Abraham's body were healing at a visible rate, then scabbing over and falling off. In no time, his skin started to emit a jade-like lustrous glow.
A few minutes later, Abraham walked out of the forest.
With his eyebrows slightly raised, his long and bright eyes, and his thin lips forming a perfect curve, he carried a sense of laziness and indifference to everything and everyone.
Nobody would associate the handsome young man with the emaciated, tortured Abraham from the prison.
Entering the Qi Refining Stage was akin to rebirth and reincarnation, with a complete reshaping of his physique and appearance.
Abraham remained unchanged in prison to avoid unnecessary troubles, but now it didn't matter.
It was a hundred kilometers to Riverway City and it would take a day's journey by foot for Abraham.
But he wasn't in a hurry, walking leisurely as if strolling in a leisurely courtyard.
As Abraham moved, the surrounding airflow seemed to be disturbed by an invisible hand.
In fact, Abraham was practicing while walking. Although Earth's spiritual energy was scarce, it was better than nothing.
Boom.
The roar of an engine and a black off-road vehicle appeared in Abraham's line of sight.
The distance of hundreds of meters was covered in a blink of an eye.
The engine roared arrogantly again, like a raging bull, charging towards Abraham.
Through the windshield, Abraham could clearly see the driver was a middle-aged man with a flat head and dark skin, laughing at him with a mouth full of white teeth.
The off-road vehicle rushed past, followed by a piercing brake sound, and it made a beautiful tail flick to stop ten meters away.
The middle-aged man jumped out of the car, the stainless steel dagger in his hand gleaming coldly, his expression cautious.
Because at the moment he was about to hit the target, the target suddenly disappeared.
The middle-aged man looked around warily.
"Are you looking for me?"
Abraham's voice came from atop the car, causing the middle-aged man to jerk his head upward.
"Attacking in broad daylight, isn't that a bit too arrogant?" Abraham's expression was cold. He had just been released from prison and someone was already trying to kill him. Who was so eager to send him to his death?
The middle-aged man gripped the dagger in his hand tighter, keeping a wary eye on Abraham. He cursed inwardly, "Damn, wasn't he supposed to be a weak student? But his performance just now didn't seem like that of a student at all."
"What attack? You're mistaken. I didn't expect anyone to be on this road. I almost hit you because I wasn't paying attention. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding," the middle-aged man said with a smile.
His sense of perception was extremely keen. This keen perception had saved his life many times. He sensed that Abraham was not simple, and if he wasn't careful today, he might end up dying here. He was thinking of backing off.
Abraham looked at the middle-aged man with a playful gaze.
"What about the dagger in your hand? Don't tell me it's for peeling fruit."
The middle-aged man's face changed, looking at Abraham and said, "What do you want?"
"That's what I should be asking," Abraham jumped from the roof of the car, step by step towards the middle-aged man, "Who sent you to kill me?"
The middle-aged man's eyes flickered, watching Abraham approach, a sharp light flashed in his eyes, and the dagger in his hand suddenly stabbed at Abraham's chest.
"Die."
The middle-aged man roared ferociously.
Abraham looked coldly at the incoming dagger, suddenly threw a punch, taking the initiative even though he acted later.
"Bang."
The middle-aged man was sent flying by a punch, with a clear fist mark left on his chest.
"If you don't want to talk, then take it to the King of Hell."
Abraham looked coldly at the lifeless middle-aged man ten meters away.
In the eyes of Immortal Emperor, human lives were as insignificant as ants.
"Want to kill me? Come on then. I, Abraham, am waiting for you."
Abraham murmured, a chilling killing intent emanating from his body.
Several hours later, the black off-road vehicle drove into Riverway City.
Three years had passed, and Riverway City was even more prosperous.
But Abraham didn't care about these, he drove the car straight into a high-end residential area at full speed.
Abraham's family was wealthy, his father Caleb Griffith and mother Esther Willow were both executives at the same company.
But when Abraham stood in front of his own home, full of hope, and knocked on the door, he was told that the place had already changed owners.
Abraham felt as if he'd been doused with a bucket of cold water, and a sense of unease began to creep up on him.
Immediately, Abraham drove to Sky Origin Group, where his parents worked.
Abraham had once followed his father to Sky Origin Group.
Relying on his memory, Abraham found the place.
The twenty-two-story building in front of him seemed to have been refurbished recently, much grander and more majestic than before.
Abraham parked the car, and just as he was about to enter, he paused, looking up at the roof in surprise.
"Such heavy evil Qi."
There was actually a big knife made of evil Qi hovering over the roof, seemingly about to fall.
Evil Qi, related to Chinese geomancy. Abraham didn't understand Chinese geomancy, but he had practiced a secret technique called Heavenly Secrets Manual when he was idle in another world.
The Heavenly Secrets Manual was similar to Chinese geomancy, both could understand Yin and Yang, and discern the secrets of heaven. But the Heavenly Secrets Manual was more profound, and as one's cultivation level increased, one could see many things that broke through the secrets of heaven.
With Abraham's current cultivation level, this Heavenly Secrets Manual was pitifully weak.
Of course, this was just what Abraham thought.
Abraham was just a little puzzled. Normally, on the day of groundbreaking for such a building, there would definitely be a geomancy master overseeing it. But why would there be such heavy evil Qi?
However, this was none of his business. Abraham strode into the building, heading straight for the reception desk.
Two security guards not far away watched him warily.
"May I ask who you're looking for?"
The receptionist was very beautiful, and asked with a professional smile on her face.
"Please help me find your HR department's Manager Caleb Griffith. If he's not in, finding your Sales department's Manager Esther Willow is fine too."
Abraham's voice was somewhat urgent.
The receptionist looked at Abraham in surprise and said, "Manager Griffith and Manager Willow resigned a year ago."
Abraham's heart clenched.
"Do you know why they resigned?"
The receptionist politely shook her head. Even if she knew, she couldn't tell an unknown person.
Just then, the elevator next door rang.
Two men and a woman walked out.
"Hello, Chairman Cox. Hello, Manager Irwin."
The receptionist and the two security guards stood up straight and greeted in unison.
"Hey, you can't go there."
Before the receptionist could finish her sentence, Abraham had already walked over and stopped the three of them.
The two security guards were startled, gripping their rubber batons and rushing over quickly.
Someone was blocking their way, and the three of them paused, looking up at Abraham unhappily.
"Who are you?"
Elias Cox frowned at Abraham.
"I'm here to find someone. It looks like you're all high-level executives in the company, so I have some questions for you."
Elias's face darkened even more, and he said in a deep voice, "Stop this nonsense. If you're looking for someone, you should go to the front desk. Why are you blocking us?"
"Chairman Cox, I'm really sorry. This man has a mental problem. We'll get him out of here right away."
The two security guards rushed over, bowing and scraping. Their duty was to maintain the security here, and now this person had actually bumped into the chairman. If the chairman wasn't happy, their jobs would be in jeopardy.
Elias nodded. He was of such status, yet he was blocked and questioned by someone, which made him very unhappy.
The two security guards reached out to grab Abraham's arm, intending to drag him out.
Abraham shook his arms, directly shaking the two security guards away.
"Answer my question, and I can spare your life. Otherwise, once you step out of this door, you will meet a bloody disaster." Abraham said coldly.
He didn't know where the evil Qi on the roof came from before, but now they were certain that it was related to the person in front of them. Among the three individuals, only he had a black line running vertically on his forehead, which was an omen of disaster.
Of course, outsiders couldn't see this black line.
As soon as Abraham spoke, the three of them became even more convinced that the security guard's words were not false – this person indeed had mental issues.
Elias' face turned even paler. He initially started with illegal business, and only later cleaned up his act, but the deep-seated ruthlessness was still within him. Being cursed without reason and having the threat of a bloodbath was something that left him quite unhappy. If it weren't for his position, he would have kicked Abraham out a long time ago.
"Call the mental hospital," Elias instructed the receptionist at the front desk, then shouted at the two security guards who had just gotten up, "Keep an eye on him, or you won't need to come to work tomorrow."
The front desk receptionist and the two security guards nodded vigorously, busy with their tasks.
