chapter 8 Money is tight!

Abraham gave a wry smile inwardly. It seemed that he could only owe Elias another favor.
"May I make a call?" Abraham asked Eleanor.
"Of course," Eleanor nodded. This wasn't a big deal. It was just a phone call. She guessed that he was seeking outside help, which would increase her commission.
"May I borrow your phone?" Abraham approached Eleanor and reached out his hand.
"Eh?"
Eleanor was completely stunned.
Everyone else who saw this scene was also taken aback, then burst into laughter.
"Kid, you can't be so poor that you don't even have a phone," someone joked.
After being stunned, Eleanor quickly recovered. She looked at Abraham strangely and said, "Tell me the phone number, and I'll call for you." Her phone contained many secrets related to many big shots in Riverway City. She couldn't just lend it to others.
"I don't know the number, but I think your phone should have his number." He had already seen that this Eleanor was not simple. She could gather so many rich people in such a small place, her network must be very large. He had seen many antiques in Elias's office, perhaps they came from here.
As soon as Abraham's words fell, everyone present was petrified again, even Eleanor had a constipated expression.
"No phone, no phone number, this kid must have escaped from a mental hospital," someone joked.
Mr. Edgar was also so angry that his stomach hurt. He didn't expect to be played by a mad kid. It seemed that the 20 million was definitely spent.
Eleanor also looked unhappy. She had been deceived by Abraham's calm demeanor, and had let him in without checking his funds, only to create such a joke.
"Is it that hard to make a call?"
Seeing that Eleanor didn't respond, Abraham spoke lightly.
"Who are you going to call?" Eleanor asked with a bad tone.
"Elias, tell him I'm waiting for him here."
"Elias, the Chairman Cox of Sky Origin Group?" Eleanor asked in surprise, "Do you really know Chairman Cox?"
Abraham pondered for a moment and said, "I've met him once."
Eleanor's face turned red, almost spitting out old blood.
Of course, she knew Elias, and everyone present must also know him. In terms of assets, these people present were not inferior to Elias. But Elias had one thing that made people very afraid, that was, although he had whitewashed himself, he still controlled half of the underground world of Riverway City.
After meeting Elias once, he already asked her to call him? Although she had established this network of big shots in Riverway City. But if she really offended Elias, I'm afraid there would be few people willing to speak for her.
"This kid really is a lunatic."
"Kid, I don't care if you really escaped from a mental hospital, but your actions today have cost me 20 million. I hope you are ready to die."
"It turns out to be a lunatic after all the fuss. It's really embarrassing to say it out."
Eleanor's face was full of anger. This matter made these rich people lose face. It seemed that she had to spend a lot of money to maintain these relationships again. She couldn't help but hate Abraham to death.
Just as Eleanor was about to order someone to throw Abraham out, Abraham spoke first, "It's just a phone call. What if Elias really comes? Think about it."
Eleanor was a bit embarrassed for a moment. What Abraham said was right. What if Elias really came? If she threw Abraham out, wouldn't she offend Elias? But if she made this call, she might also offend Elias.
Eleanor couldn't help but have a headache.
"Miss Eleanor doesn't need to be embarrassed. I also have some friendship with Chairman Cox. I will make this call. I don't believe this kid will know Chairman Cox. Let me expose him." The gentlemanly middle-aged man stood up and said.
"Thank you very much, Chairman Kaiden." Eleanor couldn't help but feel grateful. It was best for someone else to make this call.
"Miss Eleanor is too polite. Remember to invite me to dinner afterwards," the gentlemanly man smiled slightly.
He made this call, one can help Eleanor solve the problem, let her be grateful to him. Second, he also proved his social network to other people, which can be described as killing two birds with one stone.
As for Abraham, that's just incidental.
The phone quickly connected.
"Hello, Chairman Cox, this is Kaiden Lewis," the gentlemanly man said with a smile.
"Oh, it's Chairman Lewis. What can I do for you?" Elias's voice came from the phone.
"It's like this. I'm at the Treasure Pavilion now. Something interesting happened here. It involves you, Chairman Cox, so I called to verify it."
"What's it got to do with me?"
"Well, there's a young man here. He says he knows you and wants you to come to the Treasure Pavilion."
"What's his name?"
"I think it's something like Abraham."
"Clang, du du du"
The heavy hang up sound, followed by a busy tone.
When Elias heard the word 'Abraham', he felt like he had been hit by electricity. He threw his phone away and ran towards the door, shouting as he ran, "Get the car ready for me."
On this side, Kaiden held the hung-up phone in a daze, then dialed again, but no one answered.
"What did Chairman Cox say?" someone asked Kaiden.
"Chairman Cox hung up." Kaiden paused, with a puzzled expression on his face.
"Chairman Cox hung up the phone, which proves that he doesn't know this kid at all."
"That makes sense. We were played by this lunatic again."
Kaiden frowned. He always felt that Elias's reaction was a bit strange. Why did he hang up the phone so hastily after hearing Abraham's name?
"Do you really know Chairman Cox?" Kaiden looked at Abraham. He had a feeling that Abraham was not lying.
Abraham's eyelids drooped slightly, as if he hadn't heard.
"Still pretending to be a god here, Miss Eleanor, aren't you going to have someone throw this kid out?" someone shouted.
"Why bother Miss Eleanor with such rough work? Leave it to me." Mr. Edgar said darkly, then took out his phone and dialed a number.
Soon, two burly men in black walked in, went straight to Mr. Edgar, and said in unison, "Boss, what can we do for you?"
"Drag that kid out for me and feed him to the dogs after beating him up."
The others had faces full of schadenfreude. It seemed that Mr. Edgar was really angry. This kid was in trouble.
The two burly men nodded and walked over with a fierce look. Abraham was too weak, and these two people didn't take him seriously at all. They reached out to grab Abraham's shoulders, intending to drag him out.
Abraham, who had been lowering his eyelids, suddenly opened his eyes, a cold light flashing in them. His index fingers shot out fiercely.
"Chirp, chirp"
Two soft sounds, like blades piercing leaves.
The two burly men felt a piercing pain in their palms. Looking down, they saw that their palms had been pierced by a finger. They both screamed at the same time.
"Shut up!"
His fists shot out, hitting the throats of the two burly men. The screams stopped abruptly, and the two men were sent flying, falling heavily in front of Mr. Edgar, unconscious.
Mr. Edgar's pupils dilated, and the muscles on his face twitched violently.
The others were also staring at the two unconscious bodyguards, their eyes dull.
Abraham slowly withdrew his hand, as if he hadn't done anything just now, and said lightly, "21 million."
It took a while for everyone to come to their senses. They looked at each other, not knowing what to do for a moment.
Abraham's gaze fell on Mr. Edgar, "Do you want to continue bidding?"
Before Mr. Edgar could speak, a figure rushed in. It was Elias.
Ignoring everyone else, Elias saw Abraham and quickly walked over, saying respectfully, "Sir, I'm sorry, I'm late."
This sentence made everyone's hearts jump. Elias was so respectful to a young man. Could he be from a big family? But that's not right. How could someone from a big family be poor?
"I'm sorry to trouble you." Seeing Elias's sweaty face, he knew how anxious he had been on the way.
"Sir, what happened?" Elias glanced at the others, his eyes fierce.
"Nothing. I just took a liking to something. I'm embarrassed to say that I couldn't compete with Mr. Edgar, so I had to trouble you."
Elias's eyes fell on Mr. Edgar, his expression gloomy, "Mr. Edgar is really rich and imposing."
Mr. Edgar, who had realized that something was wrong as soon as Elias came in, laughed dryly and said, "Chairman Cox, it's just a misunderstanding. I'm willing to apologize to this young brother."
"Young brother, the fuck is that something you can call?" Elias cursed. Even he called him 'sir'.
Without giving Mr. Edgar a chance to refute, Elias bowed to Abraham.
"Sir, rest assured, I'll take care of this." After Elias finished speaking, he looked around and said coldly, "From now on, you can bid. But no matter how much you bid, I, Elias, will bid 20% more than you."
Previously, no one believed that Abraham knew Elias, which is why they teased him.
Now the situation was quite clear, and Elias' attitude towards Abraham was too respectful, significantly different from what they had imagined. At this point, if someone who didn't know their place dared to speak out, it would clearly be inviting trouble.
So, after Elias finished speaking, not a single person uttered a word.
