chapter 4 You deserve it!

Elias gave a cold snort and signaled the other two to walk towards the exit.
However, the woman in the white professional attire, with her slender waist and perky buttocks, paused slightly as she passed by Abraham.
Abraham remained silent, watching the three depart through the glass door.
"What a bad luck," Elias grumbled, still fuming, after they stepped outside.
"Chairman Cox, be careful!" The woman trailing behind him suddenly shrieked, giving him a hard push from behind.
Stumbling forward, Elias barely had time to regain his balance when he heard a loud 'boom', followed by a shrill scream.
Turning around, he was struck with horror. His legs gave way as he saw the woman who had pushed him sitting on the ground, trembling.
The man who had been walking beside him was lying in a pool of blood, half of his body crushed under a huge "Sky" character.
Sky, as in Sky Origin.
The characters of "Sky Origin Group" were made of iron. Each character was over two meters tall and weighed around forty to fifty kilograms. They were welded to the roof with fifty-centimeter expansion screws, immovable even in the face of a level twelve gale. Yet now, they had suddenly fallen.
If it weren't for the woman's push, Elias was certain he would have been crushed.
Looking up, he saw that the "Sky" character was missing from "Sky Origin Group".
A chill ran up his spine. The other characters seemed to wobble precariously, as if they were about to fall and crush him at any moment.
Suddenly, he remembered the young man's words. Subconsciously, he locked eyes with Abraham through the glass door.
By now, the entire building was in chaos.
Employees inside, upon hearing the commotion outside, were stretching their necks to see what had happened.
Coincidentally, an ambulance from a mental hospital had arrived.
Instead of picking up a supposed mental patient, it ended up saving the man crushed under the "Sky" character, serving as an emergency vehicle to rush him to the hospital.
Elias, his legs like noodles, collapsed onto the ground.
He was totally terrified. When the "Sky" character was lifted, the man underneath had his legs separated, smashed by the metal character, and blood was everywhere.
The two security guards didn't bother watching Abraham anymore. They rushed over to help Elias up. This was, after all, a perfect opportunity to curry favor.
Abraham was led to a luxurious reception room.
As for Elias and the woman, they were helped in by the security guards.
Upon seeing Abraham, Elias dismissed the security guards and quickly kneeled before Abraham.
"I, Elias, was blind and offended you, sir. Please save me."
Abraham remained silent, finding the situation somewhat amusing. Elias obviously didn't intend to kneel, but his trembling legs had forced him into the position.
Sure enough, after speaking, Elias's face turned red. He hurriedly got up and sat down on the sofa to hide his embarrassment.
Abraham's gaze shifted to the pale-faced woman next to him. He asked curiously, "Do you have something like a jade card on you?"
The woman looked startled, thought for a moment, and then hastily removed a necklace from her neck.
Indeed, the pendant on the necklace was a jade Buddha.
Abraham took the jade Buddha and looked at Elias. "It seems your life is not over yet."
After saying this, he flicked the jade Buddha with his finger.
To Elias and the woman's astonishment, cracks began to appear on the jade Buddha, and it eventually shattered completely.
"This jade Buddha must have been blessed, or what you would call 'opened light'. Jade itself can purify dirty things. With the blessing, this lady was able to react quickly and save your life."
"This jade Buddha was obtained by my grandmother from the Fortune Temple. She said it could ward off disasters and reduce misfortunes," the woman explained.
"Thank you," Elias bowed to the woman. If it weren't for her, he would have been dead by now.
"Chairman Cox, you're too kind," the woman quickly stood up and replied, a faint blush on her face.
A playful smile flashed in Abraham's eyes. It seemed that Ms. Irwin had feelings for Elias. However, he wasn't interested in playing matchmaker.
"I have a question for you," Abraham said, turning to Elias.
"Please ask, sir," Elias replied, his attitude humble and fearful.
"I want to ask about two people, one named Caleb and the other named Esther. Do you know where they are?"
"Esther? Are you here for Esther?" Before Elias could respond, the woman exclaimed in surprise.
"You know?"
"Of course, I was promoted by Esther herself," the woman said, a sense of pride in her voice. "When I first joined the company, I was Esther's assistant. Without her, I wouldn't be in my current position."
After finishing her statement, the woman realized she may have said too much and seemed a bit embarrassed.
"May I ask why you are looking for them?" Elias interjected.
"They are my parents."
"Ah!" Elias and the woman both gasped in surprise.
"You're Esther's son?" The woman stared at Abraham skeptically. After a moment of consideration, she said, "But you don't look like her at all."
"What doesn't look like?" Abraham asked subconsciously.
"There's a photo on Esther's desk. I asked her about it, and she said it was her son, Abraham. But you don't look like the person in the photo at all," the woman said truthfully.
"I am Abraham, guaranteed genuine."
During the initial stage of cultivation, changes to one's physical constitution and appearance are inevitable. But he didn't need to explain this to the two people in front of him.
Abraham's gaze landed on the woman. "What's your name?"
"My name is Ximena Irwin," the woman quickly replied.
Abraham nodded, "Do you know where my parents are?"
Elias and Ximena both shook their heads.
"After Esther and Manager Griffith resigned, they never contacted me again," Ximena said.
Abraham's expression didn't change much. He had already anticipated this, but he still wasn't completely reassured until he heard it himself.
"In that case, I'll take my leave."
As Abraham stood up to leave, Elias became anxious and quickly stood up as well. "Sir, please wait. Please forgive my past offenses and save me."
Abraham initially didn't want to get involved, but after some thought, he realized he might need Elias's help in the future. So, he nodded.
"I need to go to the rooftop to have a look."
"Sir, please," Elias quickly led the way.
The three of them went up to the rooftop.
Abraham squinted. The evil Qi had solidified into a large knife about ten meters away, with all the surrounding evil Qi rushing towards it.
Upon reaching the rooftop, Elias felt extremely uncomfortable, as if there was a sharp blade against his neck. This feeling was very real, making his blood freeze. For a moment, his face turned pale, and he dared not move.
Ximena was slightly better, but she was still covered in goosebumps and looked very unnatural.
"Do you feel it?" Abraham asked, looking at Elias.
Elias nodded hurriedly, anxiously asking, "Sir, what is going on?"
Abraham was also puzzled. He could see the large knife formed by the evil Qi because he was a cultivator and had practiced the Heavenly Secrets Manual.
But he was not a detective.
Logically, the rooftop should be full of sunshine and fresh air, and it shouldn't have accumulated so much evil Qi.
"Think carefully about what happened here in the past few months."
Elias and Ximena exchanged looks, their expressions uneasy, but they both shook their heads.
"If you don't want to say it, then wait for death," Abraham sneered, turned around, and walked away. To be honest, he didn't care about Elias's life or death at all.
"Sir, please wait. I'll talk, I'll talk."
Seeing Abraham walking away, Elias was so anxious that he was sweating profusely. He quickly spoke up.
"I'm afraid you'll laugh at this, but it's a bit embarrassing to say," Elias stammered after thinking for a while. "Just last month, a female employee of the company jumped from here."
"The reason?" Abraham wouldn't believe that someone would seek death without reason.
"It's all because of that damned Jasiah."
Elias then explained the whole story.
The deceased was named Maryam Cox, a married woman and an employee of the company. She was very beautiful. Jasiah was a director of the company who loved women, especially married women.
The beautiful Maryam caught Jasiah's attention. At a company gathering last month, Jasiah, audacious and lustful, drugged Maryam and raped her.
There are no secrets in the world. The incident spread like wildfire within the company. Maryam's husband somehow found out and divorced her.
Unable to bear the humiliation, Maryam jumped from the rooftop.
"Jasiah is the man who was with you earlier?"
"Yes," Elias replied.
Abraham sneered. He had initially thought the man was innocent, but now it seemed he got what he deserved.
However, since Jasiah was the one who made the mistake, why did the consequences fall on Elias?
"Did you do anything about this incident?" Abraham asked, staring coldly at Elias.
"Me?" Elias didn't dare to hide anything. He sighed and said, "After Maryam's death, her family came to make trouble at the company. I was afraid it would affect the company's image, so I had them chased out of Riverway City."
Now it made sense.
